The PSG link is insulting. Chelsea's star player moving to PSG, yeah right.
-
Basically put: Attractive football in the first half, cautious football in the 2nd. The football played in the 2nd half of the season resulted in Chelsea receving the boring tag, but it has brought results. In that last part he says, the players don't deserve this, but Mourinho is the reason for the way they've been playing. Even though the players are capable of playing fantastic football. This is nothing new though. Gullit loves attacking football and has always criticised Chels whenever they play defensive or cautious football. You have to understand, Gullit is of the Dutch school. Wasn't he the one that coined the phrase 'sexy football' back when he was Chelsea's manager? You won't believe how much stick Chelsea receives in The Netherlands. It doesn't suit the Dutch philosophy.

He's not a holding midfielder though. He does a decent job there, but not better than Mikel. Pass on Khedira imo. He's been terrible since his return from his injury, and he wasn't even that good before his injury. Real reached a new level after his injury. Jack of all trades. Not a holding midfielder yet not dynamic, powerful or effective (barely scores or assists) enough to be a box-to-box midfielder. I read Schalke was really interested. He's perfect for that level.

I agree and you'd think so, but whether it's going to happen... The way I see it, the club knew what they were getting with Mourinho. Maybe he'll stay a few more years, and his successor will have that responsibility.
-
Both players have 0 first team football experience though. And while Mou did make that promise, he also said Chelsea is not the right environment for young players. Whoever is making it through will have to pull a Courtois I think. As in, an extremely succesful loan spell at a high level. Btw, I was thinking about something. Both at Madrid and in his first stint at Chelsea things looked very rosy after the 2nd season (Inter was just 2 seasons). The third season didn't go well though. Not as well as Mou or the club would have liked anyway. Will it be different this time? I can't imagine things not going well tbh.

Realistically Courtois Azpi - Otamendi - Terry - Luis Fabregas - Matic Sterling - Willian - Hazard Costa or Courtois Clyne - Otamendi - Terry - Azpi Fabregas - Matic Sterling - Willian - Hazard Costa Fantasy Courtois Azpi - Varane - Terry - Rodriguez Fabregas - Matic Willian - James - Hazard Costa Warning

Interesting. As for his promise to bring through youth, I just don't see it happening. It would have to be a very, very, very special talent. You can't have it all, so if I had to pick, I'd prefer more adventurous football, especially in the big games.

I don't believe playing in these last few games (if they play) will be the reason for them playing or not playing next season. If Mou wants to use them next season, he will. You go into every match looking to win. If you reach 90+ points, you prove your strength and superiority. Only three sides have been capable of reaching 90+. And after labouring through 2015, looking at league table with that amount of points makes it more worth it. But you think it's meaningless, that's fair.

I'm not getting into the whole who is the best manager or 'better person' thing, but Cesc isn't just a starter under Mourinho, he's a key player. Cesc was a squad player under Pep. So picking Mou over Pep isn't exactly surprising. And that is if he actually means it. I've never heard a player place another manager above his own. Robben has played under Mou, Pep, LVG and he's claimed Pep's the best since playing under him. What a surprise. Simply put, I don't think his words were that deep.
-
I have to say, I don't understand the pleas for the youngster play. It doesn't really matter. Of course it's nice for them, but a good performance won't make them play regularly next season or anything. It doesn't make them better players either. If Mou were to go for strong line-ups in the last three games, I'd fully understand it. You don't often get the chance to finish the the season with 90+ points.

Arsene Wenger is 'embarrassing' for criticising Jose Mourinho, says Sunday Supplement Ian Ladyman http://www1.skysports.com/watch/tv-shows/sunday-supplement/news/9834877/arsene-wenger-is-embarrassing-for-criticising-jose-mourinho-says-sunday-supplement-ian-ladyman Some sense. What a name btw. Ladyman

Chelsea TV links? Or any link showing the celebrations?

After the season he's had, it's strange to see how he's tailed off at the end. It's alright though, he's done his bit. 3 games left. Just 1 more goal for 20 this season. Don't think 2 assists for 10 in the league is happening.
-
I guess the extreme pessimists should be settled now. The league was won a long time ago, so I don't really feel the impact of today's game. But it's official. Congrats to the players and the manager. Fully deserved. And I wish the media luck in trying to downplay this season's achievement.

But he works his sock off :blue scalf:

Not a pen btw. I'm shocked it was awarded.
-
That was third time he's missed/failed to score in Chelsea colours I think (Hazard pen). Poor first half. I was hoping for much better... Oh well, just win then.
-
Oh dear.

Would be nice if Spurs did us a favour today. I just love seeing those gaps widening further and further and further. Expect nothing less than a win. A convincing win would be fantastic.
