  1. Pep will go to City because they are a properly run football club, with football people actually running the club who have set it up so that Pep can succeed there. Txiki Begiristain or Michael Emewankstain?
  2. How do you know it was based on media reports and not on these fans turning up every week and seeing the level of commitment that these players exhibit? The supporters of this club feel very passionately that they've had something important taken from them. They've seen someone they care about let down and even when things got tough, they backed the club and the manager. As supporters there are very few ways in which we can make our voices heard. That's what the supporters did yesterday and they should never be discouraged from doing that, and they certainly shouldn't be abused by other fans when they do so. They are the bedrock of this club.
  3. A. I didn't call him a fake supporter. B. His profile says that he started supporting in 2007, 4 years after Roman arrived. C. I respect many, many people. D. Did I say Roman don't love club? I said he wasn't one of us. I don't think he is. I think we were lucky to get him but that money doesn't come without some drawbacks. We might have become Leeds, but we'd still be turning up every week.
  4. Booing lets the board know that we aren't happy that Jose was sacked. It lets them know that we aren't happy with the players level of commitment this season. It lets them know that we aren't happy that the club showed zero ambition to go an regain the title. Now I've seen people on here slating the supporters for making their voices heard. I've seen them likened to Nazis, I've seen them likened to shit. Shouldn't one of the tenets of a supporters forum be that people treat others in the way they would treat them normally?
  5. This is what I don't quite understand when people call for Pep or say we don't need someone like Simeone.....why? What about this club makes you think we need someone less tough? Because when I look at what this club's identity is, I don't see it.
  6. I understand your frustration at what I said. You don't know a Chelsea that wasn't owned by Roman, so maybe it's hard to imagine a club without him. In fact without Roman you may not have even decided to support Chelsea. Without those league wins you might well be a Liverpool or Arsenal supporter. But Roman is a businessman first and foremost who decided he wanted to buy a club and we were the 'lucky' ones. He's certainly given us a lot but you don't get anything for free in this world and after more than a decade in charge, you have to ask what identity the club has now.
  7. He's made it clear we sacked him when the fans didn't want him to go, so there can't be any resentment there unless he says something to piss everyone off. When he came back with Inter there was a lot of warmth there and no vitriol from what I recall, much like when Drog came back with Galatasaray. If he's going up against City and Pep, and we're not in the running for the title as I expect, then I hope he fucking stuffs them.
  8. Pep doesn't go to joke football clubs. He'll go to Man City because they're properly run and he'll get the support he needs. Simeone is the best choice but with Roman still in charge, he'll last a few seasons before we sack him and completely change things again.
  9. Not surprised. Think he'll go to United and fight it out with City for the title in 2017-18. We'll be fighting it out with Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs for top four I reckon.
  10. He doesn't need to hire a pr guy, he needs a personal trainer between the months of June and August.
  11. Real fans back managers though highs and lows too don't they? The supporters at the games overwhelmingly did. Maybe we shouldn't label people as real fans or not though. That reminds me, must clean the greenhouse.
  12. Longevity comes not just from a manager, but from an overarching philosophy of football. Long-term managers like Ferguson or Wenger embody this, but it can also come from elsewhere in the club be it the technical director or the custodians. That's the longevity we need to establish and Jose could've done that but now we have a vacuum. We have no identity beyond being a rich man's plaything.
  13. Keep going though mate...who hired Grant? I think we need Roman to take a step back, work out what he wants and hire the best man for the job. City did that with Txiki, we need that buffer between the ownership and the coaching team. It's hard to overstate just how good a job City have done. Have the results on the pitch been good enough? Probably not but they know they want Pep next and when he comes in....bollocks.
  14. Mate....that is a perfect post. That sums up the superficiality of the 'get Pep' argument. We aren't Barcelona. We aren't Bayern. We aren't even Man City. We have no values as a club, we have no ethos, we have no identity. We need that first and then we need a manager that fits, not the other way around.
  15. I don't think there's any shame in having a number of strategies in your locker. Of course you should have faith in your players to break a team down but defences are better organised than ever even at the so-called weaker teams and this league is more competitive than ever. If you can exploit a team when they're in transition then why not do that? All the goals count the same.
  16. By giving up possession and drawing them out, often targeting specific positions within their team and overloading that area when they are out of position.
  17. I know you're on the wind up here, but are you honestly happy that he's the most senior footballing voice at the club at the moment? You're a Chelsea fan so is this what you want for your club? And further to that point, what do you see his footballing philosophy to be? Tell you what, don't go to in depth on this just choose one of these words - attacking, defensive. Let's see if we can narrow down what your 'legends' footballing philosophy is. Or are you simply a wum trying to get a rise out of Chelsea supporters on the Internet?
  18. And yet still best remembered for celebrating a surprisingly well taken goal against Coventry by dropping his shorts. Think he scored one og by trying to back heel it away from goal whilst running towards it. Legend.
  19. Just to address the laughing smiley, but do you actually think the board showed any ambition to retain the title in the summer when they were outspent by Man City by triple the amount NET! Jose wanted John Stones, he got Papy Djonoirngs. They didn't invest in the squad in the way ANY pundit would say they needed to. As for Pep, do you think he'll bring the existing philosophies already in place at both Barca and Bayern with him because that's what we're sorely lacking. Pep plays pretty football but does he fit this Chelsea Football Club? Sorry but from my perspective, Simeone reflects the current club the best.
  20. I like Simeone, but that's mostly because I think he fits the ethos that Jose set down. He's combative, he wears his heart on his sleeve, he fights for his players and defends them and on the pitch he isn't an adherent to beautiful football for it's own sake. He isn't afraid to be pragmatic, but he's had to be as an underdog in La Liga. He's also had good success there. But this whole discussion for me is pointless unless we put the new coach in a position to succeed. That means having people throughout the club who are all working towards a common goal for what we want to put on the pitch, and that needs to feed down into every level of the academy. If we don't do that then we'll just keep spinning our wheels.
  21. So Michael Emenalo....is he now the chief architect of what our philosophy should be? Is that who is now the most senior footballing mind at the club? What a fucking joke.
  22. Possibly, but maybe in the third season at United they'd back him, give him a chance to succeed and he'd have competition for places to keep players on their toes. You speak as if people are incapable of changing, of growth. Yet I've already heard people say that this wasn't the same Jose as 2005 Jose, so clearly they believe people are capable of change even if it's change they don't agree with. But I'm sure you'll get the manager in you want next. Who is that by the way?
  23. Fabregas is a genius at picking out a runner and hitting him. For me, the biggest problem this year has been Costa not making the most basic runs a striker should make, so we couldn't stretch the play and cesc had no target ahead of him to hit. That makes the pitch very small and makes it harder for everyone else. Off the pitch though, I wouldn't trust the guy. I could quite easily believe he got frustrated and acted the cunt. But the players around him, and I include Eden in that because he came back looking sluggish and overweight, weren't giving him the options he needs to succeed.
  24. Jose would go there, he'd get them scoring goals and he'd probably lead them to the title because their board would back him to the hilt. He's done that everywhere he's gone. I know a lot of people have got into the habit of betting against Jose but I guarantee not a single person would put money on him failing at United if he went there.
