With that, you get Arsenal. So much for being stupid and sustainable.

I expect a repeat of last summer's dismal transfer window to occur again in this year's summer. The Board is unwilling to spend big on world class players or even on quality up and coming players like they once did on Hazard. Hence, forget about the likes of Griezmann, Stones, Laporte or Ruben Neves coming to the Bridge. More Papys, Hectors and Miazgas are on the way and maybe a washed-out striker or midfielder as well. Hail to the Board for saving a few pennies in trying to out-do Arsenal in scraping the bottom of the barrel for cheap and not-so-good buys.
-
On both counts, I fully expect the club to fuck up both the managerial appointment and transfers this summer. The board is beyond hopeless now.
-
The main business to be done now is an injection of quality into the first team. Squad fillers are and should remain as an after thought. If the situation remains the same this summer with the likes of top quality players being missed out and the Papys/Miaztas of the world are signed, the club is headed into mid-table mediocrity.
-
What rubbish. Christensen is playing in the Bundesliga and the CL. Who the hell is Miazga? I would put him behind even Hector who has experience playing for Jamaica at the Copa America.
-
When is this chappie being loaned to Vitesse? This summer ?
-
The MLS is comparable to the English Championship. They aren't a patch on any major league in Europe. An experienced Nigerian international can't land a place on the bench at the Bridge hence there is no logical reason why this MLS fellow would be able to do so.
-
If he was English, he would have proven it in the EPL instead of the MLS. He's certainly not bought as cover but for the loan market.
-
When the team is crying out for an uplifting transfer, particularly in defense and yet Emenalo & co came out with this Papy replacement. What further astounds me is that some deluded fans actually believe this is a good piece of business and are happy that we have filled in the bases for our so-called "stop-gaps". Seems like signing no-marks for stop-gap reasons are a sure sign of success for some Chelsea fans versus gunning for the likes of Laporte, Marquinhos and Stones!
-
We have Kenneth Omerou who has won 31 caps playing for Nigeria and is a far more established centre-half who can't even make the subs bench at the Bridge. Not to mention Andreas Christensen and Tomas Kalas who are also capped for their senior national teams and have playing experience at far tougher leagues. So why the hell are we wasting our time with this no-mark MLS player from a championship-level league? Sack Emenalo!
-
The most ridiculous thing is not so much that fact that this MLS lad is being bought but the hype that some blinkered fans are generating about him like he is the answer for our central defensive problems! How far have expectations fallen amongst the fans!
-
I am expecting massive disappointment and anger as I just do not see the Board shelving out any decent money for genuine first team challengers. Expect more Papys and Hectors this summer while the likes of Hazard and Courtois will be sold and replaced by washed-out players eager for one last big pay packet.
-
Another no-mark player for the so-called loaner profit generation machine. The Board should resign en masse if 200 million pounds isn't made available for the new manager to spend this summer.
-
The Board owes the fans big time in the summer of 2016 - the would-be new manager should demand a transfer purse of 150-200 million pounds to be splashed in this summer alone before he agrees to any contract. If it's Guardiola, double the purse since he needs 10 NEW players in the squad.
-
This is far worse. It's not even insurance - it's the norm for Chelsea transfers
-
Welcome to Vitesse Arnhem!
-
It's the tightening of the purse strings.
-
The club really needs to spend upwards of at least 150 million pounds to rebuild the spine of the team as well as a left or right back. Unfortunately, I foresee the Board sanctioning no more than 70 million pounds to spend and that's gross spend.
-
I would be against it if the transfer was a permanent one. But a six month loan option as an additional forward option, I would take it.
-
Ramires leaving is great news as long as a promising youngster gets to replace his spot in the squad. He has deteriorated to the point that besides his energetic running, he offers nothing else in open play.
-
Hugely over-rated? Certainly not and he's English to boot which means he's more expensive than the likes of Laporte.
-
There are absolutely no logical arguments whatsoever to support that shambles of a transfer window last summer. The team is better on paper than what its current position suggests but in no way does it excuse Emenalo from screwing up big time with his pathetic purchases and colossal failure in landing Stones. The club's initial bid for Stones was a derisory 20 million pounds - what the fuck??!! Does anyone with at least a brain cell expect Everton to take such a low-balling bid seriously?
-
Signing Papy (and Hector) on the last day of the transfer window right after the Stones transfer collapsed smacks of a desperate move to make up for a transfer failing. This is not a "nothing" transfer as you put it. I couldn't care less about Man Utd or Barcelona's transfers - it's Emenalo's job to find the players that the manager (Mourinho then) wants and he had months to prepare for that. In this thread, you complained about Laporte being over-priced and you are glad that the club did not pay that huge fee for him. Well, that's the reality of the transfer market - if the club wants the best players, they need to pay top dollar for them. Which completely goes against your wish that Chelsea should only buy top quality players. If you want top quality, pay the big bucks otherwise settle for the likes of Papy and Pato. Contrary to what you posted, Chelsea is very much into buying cheaper and poorer alternatives (Papy, Hector) and washed outs (Pato, Falcao) So what if Chelsea is a so-called top 4 team? Where are they now? Emenalo IS responsible for signing players and the shambles of a transfer season has exposed him for the failure that he is.
-
I fully expect the pathetic transfer dealings of last summer to continue in the summer of 2016 with crocked, has-been players signed for high wages together with a bunch of nobodies and youngsters for the loaner market. Stones and Griezmann are pipe dreams - Emenalo & co won't even be able to sign the likes of second rate players like Teixeira. Meanwhile, Hazard and Costa will leave whilst the likes of Ivanovic, Ramires and Oscar remain and washed outs like Lavezzi joins for the money.
-
With the shamble of a transfer committee in Emenalo & co, I fully expect no signings to be completed in this transfer window which would strengthen the first team or even the squad for that matter. At the most, there might be one or two so-called promising youngsters signed for the loan market.
