Well, Mourinho has certainly regressed in picking players in form, that's for sure. Regaridng Mata, I feel strongly that he would continue to fluorish in a more offensive team formation as he did before the transfer to Man Utd. The fact that he has been lukewarm in his performances at Old Trafford is due to Van Gaal's turgid, safety first football which is somewhat similar to Mourinho.
-
If ties are cut, let it be that Mourinho is gone for good. It's clear that he isn't cut out to be a long term manager for reasons I and several others have already stated in this thread. What he did at Madrid and Porto is water under the bridge.
-
Sir Alex has always defended his fellow managers, past and present. There's nothing new in that. Take what he said with a lorryload of salt.
-
If Mourinho was attempting new tactics, formations, dropping the so-called untouchables and giving youth a fair crack (not giving 5 minute camoes!) in response to negative results and performances, I would be inclined to see the Board give him at least until next summer to try and improve the current situation. The only recent change he did was to play without a striker which makes it even worse. Negativity has become his middle name.
-
His intentions may be to settle down but his old die-hard habits remain rigid and are not subject to change - at least that's how he thinks and acts. What really grates on me is his playing favourites with team selection and especially his mistreatment of youth and flair players. Shunting Traore and Loftus-Cheek aside most of the time and turning Hazard, Oscar and Willian into specialists in tracking back is not acceptable in my books. Not to mention his getting rid of Lukaku, Mata and De Bryune.
-
How has things improved with the latest result being a loss at home to a newly promoted relegation candidate? Your statement beggars belief!
-
The squad is surely of Top 4 material with a good blend of youth and experience and several players with high technical skill. Albeit, a couple of players need replacing eg. Fabregas and Ivanovic but there are ready replacements for them even in the squad before the cheque book comes out. The right manager would have this lot challenging for a European spot and a good run in the CL/EL.
-
That makes two of us in conflict because I don't agree with you sticking by with Mourinho. How long do you want to persist with him? Next summer? 3 years from now? Mourinho isn't a long term manager and his track record shows that. Couple with his aversion to blooding youth from the academy unlike other long term coaches such as Wenger and Ferguson, it beggars belief why any sane football fan would expect Mourinho to stay for more than 3 years and continue to bring success.
-
The "fanboy" label is directed squarely at those who would want to stick with Mourinho thick and thin even if the club was relegated. I respect Mourinho's achievements but I don't live in the past. The position in the table and the turgid football should be a wake up call for all Chelsea fans!
-
I mentioned before that I recognize that. And what?
-
In a hypothetical situation, if Wilkins messed things up with no signs of improvement or positive changes as a manager at Chelsea, I would want him out as well. Club before players or managers. That has always been my motto.
-
Obviously you haven't seen the amount of insults hurled at these two individuals when things went bad with both Man Utd and Pool under the reigns of Meessrs Ferguson and Dalglish. What I have posted is pretty mild and it doesn't even resemble vitriol. Just because I want Mourinho out gets all the fanboys riled up and they start cussing and swearing blue streaks. Mourinho is NOT going to change his approach to matches, tactics or team selection. Hence, things will continue as they are. If you can accept that, then I can see why you would want him to stay.
-
On the contrary, I am a lot more objecitve than the Mourinho fanboys. I would never want Wilkins as the manager much as I liked him as a player. Good for Mourinho to have won all those trophies and titles but there comes a time when some managers stop evolving their style and tactics and improvement ceases. Mourinho doesn't have a clue how to improve matters on the pitch now and with his enormous ego, he will insist on his favourites, double pivots, what have you. I can think of LVG being a football manager who has also hit a roadblock and ground to a halt.
-
With the right tactics and a fluid offensive style, I can envisage Willian doing really well with more quality runs, crosses, free kicks and even more shots on goal.
-
Somehow, I doubt he will remain at the club beyond next summer as even if Mourinho is around then, the transfer window offers many more opportunities for an upgrade.
-
That would be Ray Wilkins
-
Ah the typical rage exhibited by the fanboys when their Special One is questioned or highlighted for his faults in dragging the club down and not making any changes to rectify the situation. Two can play at this insult game - take your plastic crap and shove it up your f*cking rear orrifice!
-
"Standing by" is an euphemism for sharpening the axe until the time is right which 'i reckon is when the match-going fans turn on Mounrinho. When blind Mourinho followers or fanboys stand by their idol even in the face of relegation due to his stubborness and ego, that is what I would consider a ridiculous situation.
-
I can see this happening as there's not much competition from other big (or bigger) clubs for Texeira's signature and the rumoured fee of 30 million pounds is within the club's budget. Take over from Costa and Falcao. Regarding Falcao, I will never fathom why Mourinho would go for such a washed-out striker. Must be some kick-back arrangement with Jorge Mendes.
-
Looks like only Alex Texeira is a doable transfer in January. The big names like Griezmann and Stones are a pipe dream and I doubt the club can buy them even during next summer. Which may not be a bad thing as this forces us to play more home grown players. With the right manager, the current blend of youth and experience can see us challenging for honours in 2016-17. Roman isn't opening his pocket book as often nowadays.
-
For once, I hope the press are slam-dunking this!
-
It's crystal clear that the current predicament the club is in is more than just a blip or a bad patch. Supporting a manager who is making changes and trying new formations and players is a given. The line is drawn when said manager insists on his stubborn actions with picking under performers (Ivanovic and Fabregas) every single damn game, telling porkies such as blooding youth when Loftus-Cheek has been kicked down the pecking order behind the likes of Mikel and Ramires and being tactically inflexible with the double pivot of Matic and Fabregas. All the while blaming the refs, the fans, the FA, the press, opposing teams, fellow managers and anyone or anything except himself. The Mourinho sychopants take it one step futher - they blame Eva for causing the team's downfall! Anything other than their precious "Special One". Porto will do one over us and hopefully that will be the end of the misery at the Bridge casued by ONE man!
-
He's undroppable, just like Ivanovic. The fact that Fabregas doesn't execute the favourite Mourinho tactic i.e. track back makes it even more bewildering. Another reason why the Boring One has to go!
-
It's amusing to see the number of Mourinho fanboys online who behave very much like sychophants rather than a real Chelsea fan whose allegiance should be towards the club rather than this stinker of a manager. If it is true that the matchgoing fans are increasingly turning against the so-called Special One at the Bournemouth game, that is hope after all at the Bridge. Hopefully, the Board negotiates a severance package with Mourinho very soon after seeing that the Mourinho-loving blind bats are reducing in number.
-
I am just waiting for the axe to fall on Mourinho's neck and the sooner the better for the club. He's not a long term football manager since he shuns blooding youth and is fast becoming a football relic with his one-dimensional defensive tactics and stubborness in constantly picking Ivanovic and Fabregas. Only bloody idiots support him. They should call themselves Mourinho fanboys rather than Chelsea fans.
