I think we got more than 200 million to spend if we want. 200 million doesn't include the Costa, Begovic, Atsu, Solanke and other sales we make. The media don't know their ass from their elbow, and Sky Sports "sources" only ever recycle the same shit someone like The Sun, Mirror, Metro, Gazetta or some unreliable twitter "journo" says. The majority of Italian media are unreliable, and I certainly wouldn't listen to anything they say because they are bias. All this has started because the text exchange between Conte and Costa, and also because we've not announced signings in this transfer window (likely due to kit deal with Nike) yet and they put two and two together and come up with 5.

It's harder to be a loan striker in a team with very little creative outlet for said striker. Like others have said, Costa had better quality players around him to provide him the better opportunities. At Everton, teams can mark Lukaku and Everton lose a lot of their attacking threat, whereas if you mark Costa out the game, you have to contend with either side of him and the wing backs so it's more difficult in that sense for teams to solely mark Costa which gives him more freedom up top to make runs into open spaces.
-
Costa issues and quiet on the transfer front = media making presumptions. metro and gazetta are some of the worst.
-
Rather we kept him than RLC or Chalobah tbh.

🗞 Alexis Sanchez will be Manchester City player in the coming days #mercato I don't believe it personally. However, if that happened after all the talk of him preferring London, it would be a bit bemusing to say the least. If Arsenal won't sell to us, then City is the next option though.
-
Well if we going on Attitude, Costa has a very shit one and weak mentality when he doesn't get his own way. I don't wanna be drawn into shitting on Costa because he's been very good for us, but he also lets us down with his temper and he often lets himself down by how childish he can be at time for his age.
-
I wouldn't bother mate, it's obvious there's a minority who have an agenda.
-
People just wanna shit on the board for anything and focus on the negatives, forgetting the brilliant signings our board has made.
-
Not saying it's legit, but DiMarzio's colleague said a couple weeks ago on twitter (in response to the Lukaku to Chelsea rumours) that Conte wanted Lukaku at Juventus. If true, then it's likely a Conte signing. I would rather believe someone who is knowledgable about Italian football than some random poster on a Chelsea forum lol
-
He would say that though, wouldn't he? What's he going to say? "Yes I am"?
-
Yeah, Barca wanted Bellerin or Azpilicueta apparently too.
-
Who says we're interested? These sources are pure nonsense too, so I'm not believing anything any more until it's 100% guaranteed and a legit source reports these things. The Mirror, Sun, Metro, FootballItalia, Mail, Guardian, Telegraph, they're all unreliable as far as i'm concerned.

I think Baker should come in to replace Loftus-Cheek tbh. Lewis Baker is a very good player, and I think Conte could really improve his game even more. If we buy this guy, keep Matic, we'll have Kante and Chalobah too, oh and Fabregas. I think that's enough strength in depth. We will see what happens though, but Conte seems to want a CM.
-
The problem is, nobody has patience. We know absolutely zero about the boards movement behind the scenes in this transfer window. We could have made a signing or two already and it could be getting tied up as we speak, but won't be announced for a few days or weeks. We have no idea, yet everyone is so quick to shit on the board about our signings. People are fickle and only ever look at what others are doing, but forget we've won the league twice in 3 years by doing "shit" business in the window LOL.
-
Do we? Or is it just we're particular about who we sign and not willing to bend over for exorbitant fees & wages for above average players. Nobody City have signed so far is proven world class.
-
Yes, but that's why we've enquired about his availability. I doubt Lyon would be in a position to refuse a good fee for him. However, I would much rather us give Baker a chance rather than sign another young foreign talent.
-
How about we start playing some youth? Baker returns, Christensen returns, we also have Aina and Musonda. We don't need to keep spending big to make the team strong. Spurs haven't spent big and have come very close to winning the league the last two years, and their team is built on young English talent. The success of Barca, Utd, Bayern, Real Madrid during their great years was built on youth. We can also improve the squad by buying talent, but it's about time we used our youth. You can't tell me all of our young talent isn't good enough; they just need the chance.
-
Which RWB's are out there for us both defensively and offensively?
-
It's called negotiating. You think we're going to go in and throw down too much money for a player who isn't worth the money? The reason City have got Silva is pretty simple; nobody else was serious enough about him to put in a solid offer.
-
we were never interested in Silva is the truth. When our scouts were watching the Monaco vs Juve game, apparently we were monitoring Lemar (who I think would be more ideal for us being a left footer), Bakayoko and Mendy. I think there was another player too, but can't remember exactly. Does anybody really think Silva is or will be better than Willian or Pedro? I don't personally, and we need a player to displace them not be at their level. The more I have watched him, the more I feel he's a good dribbler and can create, but is more of a Mata-esque player who goes missing too often.
-
I think the tragedy in Manchester through everything off for this final and it didn't have the same competitive edge it would have otherwise unfortunately.
-
Because Utd pay absurd wages. You think he'll come to us and get paid more than hazard?
-
We are looking at a LWB apparently, not a RWB. We have Ola Aina to fill that RWB role if needed.
-
Means nothing. He's said numerous times in the past he's fed up with being asked about his future, maybe he's now decided to fuck around with the media to cause controversy.
-
Nonsense, they have so much money they can get the best health treatment, best nutrition, etc, etc. Their quality of life is in no way affected living in a colder country. Tell me about the quality of life in the Middle East and Africa where it's scorching hot and people are dropping dead due to starvation and diseases. Footballers in the modern day are molly coddled. Griezmann is from France where the temperature (barring the South) is not much different than London/South of England. Of course a player can choose where he wants to live and work, but to act like they're paupers who are choosing a quality of life is ridiculous. They are healthy guys who run around a lot for a living and earn a fortune doing so. look at Gabriel Jesus as an example; a talented young Brazilian with tons of potential, decided to move to arguably one of the colder places in England, yet he isn't whining about where he wants to go. To him, living in England provides a much higher quality of life than his life in Brazil. Griezmann doesn't have to move in all honesty, Atletico are a top club. Will he be much better off moving to Man Utd or to Chelsea? Who knows, maybe, maybe not.
