I don't think any one realistically is saying they should switch role, obviously Kante can not do what Jorginho can do, and attempting to have Jorginho do what Kante does is a complete use of his skill set. An argument for an adjustment in Sarri system would be justified to get the best out of the players. Jorginho can still do everything he does from the buildup standpoint without needing to protect the back four. He would even have more freedom to move further up the pitch, and utilize his final ball. No doubt you would lose the runs from Kante from midfield but i think i would live with that. Kinda similar to Busquets and Xavi years back. Xavi would drop deeper than anyone to build the attack, when transitioning Xavi would move further up the pitch while Busq would play deeper at that point.

in the first 20m we had similar problems, we were lucky Auba and Mhki missed easy sitters. Second half was much better overall performance.
-
It really shouldn't be surprising, Kovacic is a proper central midfielder/#8, while Barkley has long played as a advanced attacking midfielder or forward. Kovacic can probably all 3 midfield role at a high level.
-
Honestly that is putting it nicely. The difference between Barkley and Kovacic is much greater, i hope it will be a long time before i see that donkey on the pitch again. His passing, intelligence, and touch is so poor. One of his poor passes resulted in a goal. He really is a poor fit for one touch passing and this system, decision making is too slow.

I love Hazard, but seriously how unprofessional is it that he came back from pre season so unfit that he might not start until match day 3 or beyond.
-
He is going to have a monster year this season, I expect Atletico to finish no worse second.
-
It will be better for him to stay there is much benefit the training, reps, and mentoring he will get under Sarri. Personally believe all those plus the comfortability he would have in Sarri system outweighs consistent 90m in a another league.
-
Comfortably the worst player on the pitch, Kovacic is going to replace him very shortly.
-
Marina should really be sent to some village in Syria for rejecting 60m for Willian.
-
What is the point of Barkley? dude has not done shit since Aussie side Perth Glory
-
Christensen is our best CB, he will nail one of the starting CB position sooner or later.
-
Like i said earlier i don't think he will go back to Madrid, i think no one was willing to pay his valuation. Madrid loaned him in hope of raising that.
-
2017 summer transfer absolutely has to be worst ever.
-
Yup if this is indeed just a one year loan deal, he doesn't have much time to adapt or find his feet. When given the opportunity he has to play good and make an impact immediately. If he struggles initially, he may find himself on the bench and we may see very little of him. So this could go either way, either he is too good not to play and the team benefit a lot, or he could be ridding the bench on the entirety of this loan. But i don't see this being a one year loan only, he basically did the same thing as Tibo to force a move he went awol. Can't see Kova wanting to go back to Madrid. I think Madrid priced Kova too high, they wanted 80m. They decided on a loan and maybe there is arrangement in place for a sale.

I don't believe he is the 2nd coming of Lampard either, it is incredible high standard to disregard a player just because he isn't second coming Lampard. One of the best midfielder of his generation, finished as high as 2nd in the Ballon D Or. I think RLC can become a great player, one of the very best in the world at his position? most likely not, but a player in the caliber in the likes Carrick or in the same regard say Claudio Marchisio. I think it is most likely possible. He has a lot of talent, needs to improve from a tactical side and stamina.
-
RLC is a fantastic talent; great first touch, comfortable in tight space and one touch passing, power and speed to break away from defenders. He has a lot going for him. Not sure why there such a massive agenda against him. People here were shitting on him after a ten minute cameo and two days after coming back from vacation against Arsenal, Does he need to improve? absolutely. Is he at the standard that should start for Chelsea on a regular? no. But he could still definitely help the team and contribute.

Hope to hear some outgoing transfer news, feel the squad is getting way too big. Filled with deadwoods, beside the obvious Drink and Baka. For example a guy like Moses, who started the majority of games last season and doesn't really have a role. No thanks as a RW. Feel it is optimal to sell him now while his stock is high. We have 4 strikers, or no strikers if we are being honest. But we do have 4 on the squad Morata, Bats, Giroud, and Abraham.
-
I really would have liked to see him play alongside Jorginho and Kante, instead of Drinkyoko.
-
The good thing is this will be over in the next two days.
-
Probably our best back 4, Emerson and Zappocosta bring so much more energy.
-
Kovacic is not a player in need of development, he is a great player. It is a move that benefits both side potentially. We have no intention of developing him, if he is the best option he will play. Consider this similar to when we loaned Essien to Madrid.
-
There is really no difference between the way we have the 4-3-3 set up and traditional 4-2-3-1. Barkley is not a Central Midfielder, he has no presence in the build up when in possession and no presence defensively. So basically we are playing with 2 CMs only. Barkley being more of a free roaming and advanced midfielder. Not sure if it optimizes Hazard talent, but he can absolutely can play the LCM role. I think Fekir can absolutely fill that role.
-
The issue is that you think it is Courtois fault, and that Chelsea are competent. Think how poorly this transfer window has been, and you can't think we are not at fault. For example how poorly the Sarri appointment saga was. That dragged on for so long, and it got to the point where Conte returned for the start of next season and meet with the players. That was embarrassing how long that went on, and i have never seen anything like that. Also think that we finished 5th in the PL, and 30 points behind the champion and we signed one relevant signing. Chelsea are the ones who decided to hold talks with them before the transfer deadline. It is a tactic, hoping the other side flinches or the suitors move on to other players. Like i said i am more worried about Eden Hazard, because we could be in the same situation next season. I know who you guys will blame.
-
You clearly have not being paying attention if you think he has not wanted to leave for Madrid. Barely any player ever hands in a transfer request, a player does not have to hand in a transfer request to know their intention. The fact he has not renewed with one year left on his contract should be a clear que. Sure he has been playing both sides, maybe a huge raise could convince him to stay. The other thing you have to know in the world of negotiating no side is ever going to lay all their chips on the table. You can't be reactive, you have to be proactive and prepare. If you believe the reliable Belgium reporter Kristof Terreur he reached an agreement with Real before Liverpool signed Allison. Plenty of time to prepare.
-
He has wanted to leave for a while, he has one year left on his contract. This is a fact everyone at Chelsea knows. The fact we are holding a conversation with him 3 days before transfer deadline and have not lined up a replacement is Chelsea fault. This should have been taken care of a while ago. I find Chelsea completely at fault. I fear we are heading for the same direction with Eden Hazard next summer. Eden being much more valuable.
