What does that say about Gordon? CHO was more productive than him last season.
-
He is 21, same age as CHO you know the guy who deemed a flop on this board. quite the ability to score deflected goals.
-
Meh every league has its flops, using such rational then you might not buy anyone. De Jong and De ligt are not flops, maybe not generational players. I always look at skill set, Antony has pace, trickery, close control, etc those attributes do quite well in the PL. I watch Gordon highlight I don’t see the skill set that is required to play on a team that faces primary low block.
-
So what about Sterling, 3 games in he seems to be suffering from the same thing.
-
Club and Tuchel both wanted Haaland for sure, I have no doubts about that. I wanted nothing to do with Lukaku, but a good majority fans still wanted him here. The media overwhelmingly backed him to be a success. This narrative that he was forced on him, is only because he was a complete bust. Haaland and Lukaku were viewed the top strikers available, they couldn’t get Haaland so they want out to get the next available option for Tuchel because signing a striker was priority for him.

Mendy needs to be benched.
-
I remember many people here didn’t want anything to do with Tuchel when we were looking to replace Lampard. The popular choice was max Allegri. I argued for Tuchel over him, i still stand by that. Now people are claiming Tuchel is a top 3 manager, the same people who wanted nothing to do with him. I look at body of work. I am not ready to sack Tuchel, even before the recent results i was at the point of having serious doubts building this team.
-
No its not, people here have built this narrative out of nothing. Lukaku himself said that Tuchel convinced him to move, just like Sterling and Cucu have this summer. People argue that Lukaku doesn’t fit Tuchel tactic and that is why he was forced on him, it is not that simple. Managers better than Tuchel have recruited players that were bad fit. Reality is Tuchel last summer knew that he needed more goals, and Lukaku was viewed as a top striker. Again this summer he views the same issue, which is why he is pushing for Auba. You guys act like Tuchel is thinking long term, its not always the case. He is looking for immediate result. Actually we have more data on Marina and the board and their preference, when is the last time they purchased a 28 year old player for a club record fee? They prefer younger players with resale value. I think the biggest criticism of the board is unwilling to spend that extra bit of money on players. So no it makes no sense to think they spent a club record on a 28 year old player, oh also force it on a manager. Pretty sure they would have preferred a cheaper option than Lukaku.

I don’t see it with this Leao guy, our next big forward signing should be Joao Felix.
-
I honestly think Mendy is the biggest obstacle to play in a 4-3-3, he is just way too poor on the ball. He has trouble playing out of the back with 3 cbs to give him options. No surprise that we tried 4 atb when Kepa was the goalkeeper.
-
Gallagher is an attacking CM. Press high and arrive late into the box. It is not Jorginho fault, it is the manager who is not using him correctly.
-
The problem is for a side that plays out of the back, there is a certain level of competence Is required on the ball. Mendy does not meet it.
-
Mendy is a big problem and has huge impact on the overall team, his distribution is so poor that our CBs has to hold his hand make short passes. Reason you can’t high pressure Pool and City is that their defenders are spread out making the opposition hard to trap them.
-
It is not risk, he is shit on the ball. A solid keeper on the ball would have handled that situation easily.
-
Mendy is way too poor on the ball for a side that wants to play from the back.
-
There should be absolutely no discussion of Harry Maguire from Chelsea, anyone that mentions his name should be thrown out of the window immediately.
-
Send Borja on loan maybe…
-
Report we are doubling his 9m salary at Barca. So 18m per year.
-
I should have phrased it as the beginning of the end for Havertz. Because Tuchel is bringing in Auba to replace Havetz as the starting CF. His exit won’t be this window.
-
Is Aubamayng signing basically the end of Havertz? Even if Auba is not successful.
-
I think Ronaldo is that guy, if we want to peruse a short term target. He is also willing to take a pay cut, i think he is very motivated to prove people wrong. Hopefully Barca price us out, and Tuchel opens up to signing Ronaldo.
-
Mate you are trying to convince yourself again.
-
goal scorer more importantly looking for an alternative to Havertz or Werner to lead the line. It is a pattern, he saw a need to address our goal scoring issue by bringing someone else, Lukaku was seen as a top striker.
-
This argument would be valid if he came on a loan or fee, but at 30m with multi year contract?
