I dont think we could have asked more from the lad last year. He was a great buy for the money he cost us.But Ive said it before but I dont think Mou had faith in him. Ive never considered Mou to be sentimental in team selections but we gotta ask whether he kept picking Drogba over him because of the old pals act or if he just did not trust Remy. OK Hes not a game changer and I could think of many strikers Id prefer before him but if I was to be asked whether Id have him or Falcao its a no contest. What we goota ask is has Remys ego been given a boost with his higher profile hes been given? I could see him snapped up and walk into a mid level PL side and do very well for them. But did he feel that he got enough playing time last year and did he feel appreciated?

It would help alot. And as the last numbers I saw was that 96% of Chelsea supporters wanted it and as the law states that only seating must be provided for every supporter then I really cant see why we arent pushing for it.

Bruv after 10 hours in the bars down the Khao San Road you tend not to notice things like that. Or well youu dont for the first couple of days anyway!

On my first night of a 4 month stay in Thailand I found myself after a day of debauchery back in my apartment with a gorgeous long haired girl. Or so I had thought she was until finding a lump hiding between her legs. After an hour of tongue tonsil tennis I was wondering if this classifies me as a homosexual. I tell ya some of these ladyboys are gorgeous but after awhile you can notice them (sometimes)

Just read that Falcaos getting the number 9 jersey and we havent been that lucky in the premier league with that number. Cascarino,Stein,Vialli,Sutton,Hasselbaink,Kezman,Crespo,Boulahrouz,Sidwell,Di Santo,Torres. Ive included the good ones too but you get my drift eh.

They were niggling and dropping each other all thru the game.

I still hope we take a look at safe standing. It would give us a much bigger capacity. Having a new ground will also let us have a move around. Back when half of the Shed end was taken from us and given to away supporters we had many beer fueled meetings to discuss just what we was going to do about it. As there was nowhere near enough room for us all it seemed logical for us all to just swap ends. But we couldnt all agree. so some stayed, some went into the East stand some went into West and majority are in MH. Which meant all of our more vocal lads are split up thus making home games not as boisterous as away games as we all get together in one place for those. I only see some lads at away games as they arent in the MH. Being all back in one place again would be great and IF we were also sitting/standing with railway seats would make it even better.

Pogba is the class of player we should be trying to attract and bring in to the side. We are again lacking creativity. Yes OK he might have £10mill of hype on his back but its money we would easily get back thru sales, endorsements, advertising and going thru Europe. Hes a player we wont need to wait to come on. Oscar has flashs of genius and I like him but since we got him we have said the same thing each season. He goes into hibernation mode come the new year. If we could afford to have 2 players in his position and the other to take over come Jan 1st that might work. But hes also not the best No 10 in the world is he? He offers much more to us (and Willian) as a upfield defender than offensive. But I'm not slagging the lad off because I do rate him. i just think if we could use him as a means to an end and use him in part Ex for Pogba then I think we should.

I'm in 2 minds about big Pete. I remember when he took over from Cudi when he had been our loyal keeper. Pete didn't umm and arr about jumping in his shoes. I know hes a great keeper but why should he get preferential treatment and not fight for his spot on the team like everyone else? The only thing I can think its his ego thats bruised. He actually played more last year than I thought he would. I dont know why he doesnt goto the club and lay his cards on the table. Summet like ' Look i like playing here but I'd like more playing time. I played 16 games last season but if I could play 'x' more I'd be happy to stay and fight for my place like every other position has to'' I know I was naive before but since Lamps went to Citeh it made me realize players just see the club as any other large company and its just us nutters with any love and loyalty to one club so I realize a player doesnt owe us anything but on the other hand WTF SHOULD we make it any bloody easier for them to leave us - specially to a team already on our arses. We got no time for bloody sentiment this is war and its Arsenal ffs.
-
We need a good alternative for both Cescy and Matic cause we were buggered when either of them were missing. I'm sorry but Id lose both Mikel and Rami. We need more creative players.
-
And what about as its looking ATM Cuadrado,Filipe also out.
-
I understand what youre saying but on a few occasions early last season in interviews Mou said he loved having problems with team selection. We all found this very strange as it turned out that we had the same basic team most weeks, I dont know how good this lad is as Ive not watched him much but I always think we should get the very best player we can get and let them fight over whos the best. Getting someone because hes a good squad player doesnt fill me with much enthusiasm or hope for Europe.
-
I totally hear you but I put Joses professionalism higher than showing sentiment for team selection. He didnt put up much of a fight when Lamps left who is also a close pal of his. Since seeing Lamps wearing that shitty color blue shirt my views towards player loyalty and selection sentiment has changed completely. Ive realized that players GENERALLY see football as just another job and a club just like any other large corporation. And just like us if we change jobs we keep a couple of old mates and remember the good times but at the end of the day we work for a new company and do all we can to beat our old one. You wont see many like JT/Gerard around anymore. Its just us supporters who have got love and loyalty for only one team. So now Im all about putting together the best team of players we can get. If we can upgrade any player then we should do it.
-
And I know we can. Its just I dont see any urgency or organization concerning incoming but see more and more 'rumours' about lads leaving when we already have a small squad. I dont tend to get nervous but ......... Ive got skid marks.
-
Why does it matter whether hes 2nd or 3rd striker? I THOUGHT Remy was our 2nd striker last season yet Drogs was put in alot more than him. No matter where hes supposedly is in the pecking order IF hes good he should play more if hes shite then should warm the bench.
-
Didn't say we didn't. Its just that our priority should be upgrading our 1st team and adding the depth we badly need.
-
Just what we need. Another 'new Messi' to put on the loanagoround.
-
Im neutral to depressed. While I do think IF he had REGULAR playtime, IF unlike at United he had the players feeding him properly, IF he got fitter than he was last night (he was gasping 1/2 way thru 1st half) then he MIGHT do OK. The thing that confuses me is WTF are we gambling on him? With Remy with one foot out the door WTF havent we got as ONE of our priorities a shit hot no injury history lad that needs no GPS to find the goal. But Im really unsure just how much say Mou has in player recruitment. If you remember when he 1st came back there was reports of it written into his contract that Emenalo would be in charge of all player transfers. I dont think Mou comes into it unless they ask him to use his character and talk someone round.
-
No he just got mardy and started throwing all his toys around.
-
What was going on between him and Cuadrado last night? Maybe its because they both look like theyre leaving us?
-
A agree with points all of us are saying but no matter what we say it looks like Falcao is coming. As for him taking over Drogs spot what was his spot? He was picked alot more than Remy unfortunately. I liked Remy, and I was completely wrong for wanting Bony coming instead. But I dont what we are arguing about as far as he goes as its looking like hes not going to be with us. So 2nd striker,3rd striker it doesnt matter. He was a good alternative striker but he wasnt a good RAM was he. But its leaving us in trouble. I dont think the problem was WE didnt trust Remy I think its more Jose doesnt. And we know that means hes got a taxi waiting. So IF Falcao passes his physical after the Copa we will more than likely get him. It doesnt make any difference whether hes 2nd or 3rd striker all we want him to do is a decent job when hes playing. We dont have hindsight so wont know how it plays out for awhile. The thing that I dont understand is why we havent gone for another top striker. I hear you say - because we are a 1 striker system another top striker will want to play regular. But if I was one I'd look at our last season and fancy my chances (if I didnt have any ongoing injuries) to fight for 1st pick over Costa. I know we got a 1 striker system but we need one thats going to be trusted to take control of a game, to play in Europe against the big boys and we wouldnt worry whether Costa or the new guy was picked. The only position I could honestly say I didnt care which one played last season was the keeper. For every other position we dont really have a top class option. Other clubs seem to manage having top multiple strikers that fight and push each other to claim the starting place. We should be doing all we can to sign another Costa like player not be looking at hasbeens and wannabes.
-
As Dick Emery would say Ooooh you are awful (but I like you!)
-
As Viper22 says good point and Im wondering if we might do a reverse of last season where we played open fast fluid football for the first few months and closed down in the final few. Other points we have a great opening day history. Over the past 20 seasons we've won 17 and drawn 3. Home for the last game. Home for Boxing day. But away for New Years. I like going to The Bridge for New Years Day its a good piss up. And I gotta admit Im still nervous about the Gooners. Theyre going to be better than last season and right now it doesnt look like we will be doing much to strengthen the squad. Seems like we are getting rid f more players than bringing in.
-
OK Falcao didn't have his best game last night and he seemed to be gasping for air 1/2 way thru the 1st half but he wasn't used. None of his players got the ball to him. We have got lads that can do that. I'm nervous about this too but the transfers not gone thru yet. His medical is supposedly after the Copa. TBH I would take injury prone Remy over him but Ive never felt that Mou had any love for him and I cant see him being round much longer. I know these 2 will probably not be round neither next season but what did you guys think about the lack of love between Filipe and Cuadrado last night?
