  1. Think he can do it, especially if we can go deep into at least two of COC, FA Cup and UCL.
  2. Not sure what game they were watching - some sites had Oscar as MotM...Don't think he was quite that good but certainly deserved well, well above a 5!!
  3. Yes, Kurt has absolutely explosive speed! He's probably in the Top 3 quickest in our squad now that Salah is gone I would think...
  4. Agree, thought he was very good after coming on for Matic against Southampton.
  5. This. I too want RLC to be getting more game time, but I can't understand people saying that he should be playing instead of Ramires, Oscar and/or Willian. Has he done something remarkable that I don't know about that causes people to think he's a better option than the aforementioned three?
  6. Been a while since one of those, would bloody love it to return!
  7. We'll have to agree to disagree on that. I think our definition of skillful is slightly different here - I gather that you're talking more about his skills in general play and on the ball (particularly when under pressure), which I completely agree are well below par. However, I was simply agreeing with the statement in the article that I quoted which said that Oscar had a great deal of natural ability going forward (i.e. shots, assists, fancy backheels/flicks etc.) as it was implied in the article that these are the types of skills that were being referred to. As the article says and as I have already said previously in this thread, being able to turn these skills into consistent showings is his big issue. That wasn't my intention, I was merely referring to how eye-catching these displays of skill can be from Oscar on the occasions when he does showcase them, and that I would therefore expect people to acknowledge them, but obviously I was wrong. Thanks for your response.
  8. You're going around calling people "pricks" and telling them to "kiss your ass", and they're the bullies? Whatever you say... On topic, Kane has seriously impressed me this season, he absolutely has the potential to become England's next great striker.
  9. I look forward to the day when you finally gain the ability to respond to people's posts with valid points to justify your opinion rather than just posting GIFs to try and mock them. I won't be holding my breath though...
  10. Yes...?? I can understand people questioning certain aspects of Oscar's game where it is clear that there are deficiencies, but I wouldn't expect anyone to question the kid's natural ability. You only have to watch the way he can make a ball talk to see that he has some very special talent. Granted, he is not putting that talent to full use at the moment, but I can't quite understand how one cannot acknowledge the immense natural ability that Oscar has at his disposal. As for his vision, I think some of the balls he's played this season (some in particular that have set up goals) answer any queries in that department.
  11. Really liked this article about Oscar's latest dip in form - a very accurate summary of the situation. http://www.espnfc.com.au/club/chelsea/363/blog/post/2352556/oscar-form-dips-for-chelsea-yet-again-but-he-has-talent-to-overcome
  12. I think this basically sums up that whole argument in a nutshell. I just think that some people have given up on Oscar (maybe fair enough, he's had a lot of chances to prove himself) and will use anything to discredit his value to the team without even giving thought to opposing opinions.Whilst I think we all acknowledge that we would like Oscar to produce more consistently, I'm very happy with the importance of the goals he's scored this season. He scored the winner against Bolton in the COC, and put us 1-0 up against Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, QPR, Newcastle and Swansea. The only goal he's scored this season that doesn't fit into those categories is his second goal against Swansea, which was obviously a lot less important than the aforementioned goals, but it did kill off any final chance that Swansea had of staging a comeback. As I said, he still needs to produce more often though, beyond just scoring important goals.
  13. Kurt has not lost his place. He is still recovering from knocks sustained in the West Ham game. Jose said they were quite bad and he would need to be managed carefully in the immediate future.
  14. Even if he doesn't play another game for the rest of the season I still don't think he will leave. Seriously think he loves it at Chelsea and in London. Sure, maybe after another year of being underplayed he might go, but he'll be sticking around for a while yet.
  15. Thought he was reckless yesterday, made these crazy runs into the box before we'd even gained clear possession, left us exposed when we inevitably gave the ball away and his man hadn't followed him right in to the box and just sat out on the wing waiting for the ball.
  16. Made some awful mistakes yesterday, poor first touch and passing on many occasions, but I was very pleased to see him using his speed to look threatening through the middle and go and win the ball back on the wings. Above all else, he's back on the scoresheet, and that quite frankly delights me.
  17. Love Cesc to bits but he was shithouse yesterday, particularly in the first half. I've never seen him fuck up so many passes in one game, didn't look himself at all. Has been poor since his injury in the Liverpool COC game. Noticed yesterday his knee was strapped, wonder if there's a little issue there, because beyond his shit passing, he has looked completely lax in his movement recently also. Seriously think he's been even worse than Oscar lately.
  18. Terrible first half, was absolutely nowhere. Thought he was a lot better in the second half - credit to him for that. Could have and maybe should have scored at least one of his second half chances, but fair play to Forster.
  19. Matic has been sloppy all game so far...not particularly surprised by that.
  20. Everyone relax, Zouma HAS NOT been dropped, or even rotated. Kurt is battling to recover from a few nasty knocks from the West Ham game. Yes, I know he played a small part against PSG, but Jose said after the West Ham game that Zouma would need to be managed carefully over the next few games as his body took a battering in that game. He is fit enough to take the field (as he did when he came on as a sub against PSG), but playing 90 minutes is not possible for him at the moment.
  21. Can't imagine Costa will be dropped as some are suggesting. I expect him to start and score, with a Cesc assist.
  22. He's actually 23, and why does he need to be a leader? He just needs to play his role in the team, as he does. Expecting a naturally shy personality to be a leader at 23 is beyond ambitious...
  23. Apart from a little bit when I was young, haven't done much goalkeeping myself, so maybe one of you guys that are far more qualified than me could assist with this thought... Purely from a mental standpoint, do you think that (even just subconsciously), it is possible to switch off ever so slightly when defending a second successive corner? Especially when it has been conceded by you making a great save to deny a chance from the previous one? I just feel as though when you also consider that the last two times this has happened (Burnley and PSG), the game has been on a knife's edge, maybe as a GK it is possible to just lose focus slightly when you've just made a key save, and as a result the next one goes in.
  24. I don't think Jose cares what the press officer (or anyone for that matter) tells him with regards to press conferences. He will say/do what he wants!
