I completely agree on. However, as a one on one defender he is not... Jt, at his peak was obviously better than Kos is, but right now, due to his age, I don't really think he is... However, as mentioned before, JT is probably one of the most important players this season so far.

Lampard revelled in it and embraced it, he actively encouraged the status, whether it was kissing the badge or professing his love for the club. Being a stalwart at Chelsea was a status that endeared Frank to the media, and translated itself into more commerical opportunities for himself. If you were from the UK, you'd understand that a bit more, in regards to how he played the 'clean' 'professional' 'loyal' image to his advantage.

It's sad though. Lampard could've been known as the spearhead of the most successful CFC team ever (so far), and would've been spoken about for decades upon decades here as the man. He still will be spoken about but not in the same vigour. Guess players like Lampard really do not care about that.

That doesnt even make sense. So when played to Mata's strengths, he is better than Silva. But is Silva's team playing to his strengths? Silva > Mata end of.

Kos is 10x better than cahill ever was.
Like I said a few months ago, put Kos on Chelsea, and he will be labeled as "world class."
Kos is the epl's best defender now and for the past few seasons. You can say that kompany is great and all, but demichellis is holding his weight up well without him.
Difference is matic and cesc vs chambers and coquelin....
When you are a proactive defender, you concede pks and fouls.. When your gary cahill, who is far from a proactive defender, you don't.
People criticize proactive defenders like kos, ramos, pepe, mascherano, puyol, benatia and boateng, when they make mistakes, but I rather take a proactive defender than gary cahill.

I know I few who thinks Matic is our best player this season. Not sure it its wise to judge a player based in someone else opinion.
For me Oscar has always been a correct player. I'm not a big fan, but imo the difference is the results. If he scores a goal, then he played a superb match. If next game he plays the same football, no goals and the team gets a bad result, people will say he is inconsistent. For this is who Oscar is. He is not a player to win a match on his own.

I hope he does it because I tend to agree with Thomas that he seems conformed with what he's achieved so far. He's quite the simple, humble guy, sometimes it looks like he's happy with what happened so far and don't put that much effort on improving.
The only thing keeping him from getting better is he really wanting it with all his being. Mourinho hinted mind/will issues and I think it was directed at Oscar, as I think André is very ambitious, even if very less talented than Oscar.
I don't think Oscar's ceiling is as low as you, @OhForAGreavsie, I think he has a good ceiling, André on the other hand I think has a low ceiling, but he can be very dangerous when on form.
Thing is all our AMs with the exception of Eden (and Cesc when he plays as #10) are lacking now in the attack now, which sucks.
