He sounds grateful. That was my point. Even if he didn't got his first choice he sounds happy with Giroud.

For WHOLE 14 minutes. Dear God, stop this, just stop.
-
Keep 'em coming, Conte doesn't give a damn.

“About Giroud, we are talking about an international player with a lot of experience who plays for the national team, he’s 31 years old. We’re not talking about a young player, for this reason our expectation for him is different. I asked for this type of player with his characteristic from the club. The club gave me this opportunity. With Emerson Palmieri we have a young player with not much international experience, he played last year with Rome, he played a very good season. He’s an option for Marcos Alonso, he has to recover with us but as you know very well, you play if you deserve to play and we can tell this during training sessions day by day.” https://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/2018/2/2/16965480/conte-thanks-chelsea-for-signings-reaffirms-commitment-to-club-for-manyeth-time Yeah, baby!

Injured/not ready players we have signed: Barkley, Emerson, Giroud, Bakayoko. Don't know if Drinkwater injured himself at CFC or was he already injured.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte says it is his "intention, will and desire" to continue in his job for at least the remaining 18 months of his contract. http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/42921679?ns_mchannel=social&ns_campaign=bbc_match_of_the_day&ns_source=facebook&ns_linkname=sport Yeah, baby!

Conte's moaning is blown out of the proportions. Most of the times he just says that he needs to do the best with what we have. But no, of course people will remember only those 2 times when he said that we should do "the right moves in the market", and so on. Most of those times were in summer. And in summer he had EVERY RIGHT to moan a bit. For Christ's sake, we only changed Matić and Costa with unproven players and waited to the deadline day to buy two more shit players. If that wasn't enough of reason to moan a bit, I don't know what is. Also, last season we have played good football. It wasn't the best, but considering what we have, it was really solid and compact. Best what we played since 2010 I would say. We could play at least like that again, but our squad got filled with unproven players, and got roasted by injuries.
-
Main problem with this club is winning titles with really average and ok-ish squads. UCL 2012. was shit squad, 2015 and 2017 both really really deficient squads. Our best reality check are the results from UCL from last 5 years. Nowhere to be seen. Fuck EPL, EPL is really shit for years, only this season things got better. We have problem with reality and with delusions about our players and results. Not just fans, board too. Because of that, we have really unhealthy view on where we are and what should we do. That's the main problem, not Conte.
-
Lot of us said that he is the best manager for the player profiles that we have. And we weren't wrong. Let me ask you #ConteOut crew: What do you think our reality is? 2nd place? Cup winning? What do you expect with this squad?

LWB ---------- LCM ------ RCM ------------ RWB ------------------------ DMF ------------------------- I guess this, LCM or RCM.

We have 5 days to prepare. We have Fabregas and Courtois, both healthy. We have Giroud. We have good back-ups in Emerson and Barkley, Willian should be ready too. Christensen is out, but central defense is the one field we should not worry about, Luiz/Rudy will play. Things will get better. Also, Spurs and Liverpool are playing each other. Really great chance for our redemption and finally kickstarting this 2018.
-
In Conte's subforum, 2 or 3 pages from the last page I guess.
-
I wrote in his thread what I think, in details.
-
We'll keep the UCL spot, don't worry. Maximum capability without Morata, Fabregas, Willian, Courtois, etc, or with no strikers at all like today, might be losing to team like Bournemouth sometimes, yes. Or having a rough patch, with team which already is training to be a lot better, because they are not enough.
-
Mourinho said the same thing when we were 10th at the table. Of course he had no right to say that. Conte is saying that now, when we were 3rd most of the time in the league. And now we are 4th, which still isn't the end of the world. So, not the same thing.
-
He should've done better, probably. But I am just not buying that with Fabregas in midfield-2 we would all of a sudden be much better. Guy got to prepare the squad with no striker, with no Willian, with newish Barkley and Fabregas who just got out of injury. His "mistakes" are always up for discussion, those are not THEE mistakes, which everyone just admit they are. Like Alonso being slow, like Cahill being clumsy, like our midfield which can't keep the ball, like hundred other things. And someone said that his training sessions are too much for our players? Without them they would be even more average, but players would be more healthy, I guess. Last season we have all agreed that this formation with 3 at the back just suits our players so well. And now that changed? All of a sudden Azpi is great at RB? Alonso is classy LB? Our CBs are good enough to play in 4 at the back? I don't know what will happen, Conte might be guilty for something here and there, but our club's state is just not his fuckin' fault.

Conte, I love you. It must be really hard for you to work under this conditions. Stay strong, we believe in you. Sent from my HTC Desire S using Tapatalk

Well, I guess than he is lucky that he is in this Chelsea. 10 years ago Crespo would have come in and it would be game over. But yes, with good back-up in Giroud, who can save our ass when time is dark, we should now support Morata as much as we can. I don't think Morata will ever be world-class, but he could be very good.
-
“The way we are playing, he can play like a No10, like a striker, on the right or on the left. Or, if we decide to play with three midfielders, he can play on the right or the left.” https://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/2018/1/31/16954298/conte-urges-ross-barkley-to-start-thinking-on-the-pitch I doubt we will ever see him in 2-man mid.
-
So, are you ok with Giroud signing? At Alvaro's time at Juventus, sometimes Llorente and Mandžukić were enough to displace him, both inferior players to Giroud IMO. I agree that Džeko might be a bit too much, because Alvaro doesn't seem confident, but Giroud should be just fine. I think good back-up striker could ease the burden on Alvaro's back, and when he'll play he'd know that goals aren't only for him to score, that there are others to carry the burden if he fucks up. Unlike situation from last half a season, when his competition and burden-sharer was only Michy. And you say you followed Morata since forever. Can you tell us why didn't he play more at Juventus?
-
For Christ's sake, Barkley is barely ready to play in CAM/SS positions - where there is much more freedom, and people think that he could play in midfield two? Delusional. If we are ever gonna see that, it certainly won't be when his match fitness level is this low.
-
Also, no need to mention - Giroud should win most of the headers in our link up play, something Morata isn't very good at. He is not just tall, he can jump sky-high.
-
That's rather ad-hominem, and has nothing to with solely their strength. Heskey is nowhere near being a top striker, but is stronger than both Drogba and Costa.
-
I've seen Drogba and Costa down a lot of times, too. But that doesn't mean they cannot hold their ground when it matters.
-
He is very strong, even stronger than Džeko, I guess, that's the main difference. So he will never fall down. But scoring from 1-on-1 situations might still be a problem.
