Yeah that was one of our best counter attacking games under Mourinho's second spell. And I honestly think THAT is the football he really wants, not parking the bus like Atleti away.Luiz in midfield was KEY in those performances. Matic-Luiz combo dominated City away and Arsenal at home (6-0). A few days later we played the same group. (City Fa cup) But Mikel instead of Luiz in midfield, and Luiz instead of JT in defence and suddenly we lost the control in midfield (plus clown Luiz instead of solid JT). So I hope we can find someone similar or even better, Witsel might be that person as he's more natural there plus has some other skills. We played with Luiz-Matic-Rambo-Willian-Eden-Eto'o in that game. If you want to have the same effect, we can play: Witsel-Matic-Rambo-Willian-Eden-Costa. But I am not a fan of dropping Cesc, his brain is faster than Willian's legs, sees a pass within seconds and is the only player who could give the killer/final pass to our runners. So I really want to see this next season: Matic-Witsel-Willian-Cesc-Eden-Costa Just one signing, come on!

I actually think he is (again) indirectly showing his frustrations towards the board for not giving him what he wants. How many times has Mou mentioned something like ''without new signings/investments or I can't have'' in the recent 2 weeks? I already lost the count, the pre-summer stop Mourinho is clearly different from the current preseason Mourinho. Pre-summer stop: - '' I want to add a striker because we lost our legend, one defender and a midfielder to add some fresh blood to give the guys some competition'' - Openly challenged the main competitors at the Chelsea Player of the year awards show, showing his confidence and probably counting on his signings. Preseason: - ''We will do it with the same group, it's a big challenge to do it with no new signings'' (repeat it like 5 times in 2 weeks) - ''I can't have the Eiffel tower, I can't even have the Vegas one'' - ''Our rivals are buying the title, all of them, It is up to us to try and win [the title] even without the big investment'' Clearly a different Mourinho, the pre-summer stop one and the current Mourinho. Think we can all agree Mourinho is a smart guy, he knows exactly what the team is missing every time: 2013-14 summer window: Many problems but mainly lacking a striker, chased a striker (rooney) but got none. result = complaining that he has no strikers, praising PSG stikers, praising Falcao, play Schurrle up top, mocking Etoo's age. 2013-14 winter window: Looking for a CDM who is better than Mikel, got Matic. 2014-15 summer window: Looking for the striker, depth and a main playmaker, got Cesc and Diego, plus depth signings: Remy, DD, Luis. 2015-2016 summer window: Looking for a midfielder, defender and striker, chasing Stones but where is the midfielder? result = indirectly showing his frustrations for not getting new big signings, mocking other teams' spending behavior. He is playing mind games with the board but if it works is another question. He clearly knows we have a big weakness and that is the midfield spot, why would he otherwise play Mikel or Ramires next to Matic in every big or away game, or even in preseason vs PSG? We need someone who is better than those 2 and can play big and small games, otherwise we won't improve and will struggle in big games again.

‘The manager and Christophe [Lollichon, the goalkeeping coach] asked me to shoot one in the first five and I said if there’s a space open I would do it. Five people stepped up so it was no problem but I said if we needed one more to win I would take it. So I think I would have taken the sixth penalty if we had a chance to win it then.’ http://www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2015/07/courtois-post-psg.html

Exactly, but it does not look like we're after one CM. Even the rumors are dead now.

Actually we already played beautiful and dominant football at the start of last season. The question is now: how can we improve so we can do it for the whole season? And how can we also play more dominant against the big teams.

Great training for Tibo as he never played this before (penalty shoot out)

Solid line up

Great way to damage a business relationship.

Great player and would suit us, but we already have Ramires and RLC as box-to-box players, so I don't think this move is likely.

He's our third captain I think, behind JT and Ivanovic. So we'll see him with the armband in many cup games.

I actually have seen many indirect and some direct comments that shows his frustrations towards the board, and where he tried to explain that his role/power is limited, i.e many things are out of his power. - ''There's first he owner, then you have the board, and then comes the manager.'' - Jose example: Situation with Cech, he repeated many times that he wanted to sell him abroad but he had no power in this case. - Recent ''Eiffel tower'' comment, how he described it was like buying Pogba is totally impossible for us, while it's clear that many top clubs are chasing him. Indirect comment that we're smaller or can't spend? "I think everybody has an interest in Pogba. But there are things you can do and things you cannot do. I love the Eiffel Tower (Pogba) but I can’t have the Eiffel Tower in my garden. I can’t even have the Eiffel Tower of Las Vegas.(cheaper version, Witsel?)” - Mourinho on Stones situation: ‘That is the market. And you only pay it if you want. If you don’t want to pay it, don’t pay. It’s as simple as that. The market has no rules or limits from season to season. And not even the introduction of Financial Fair Play rules is able to control the market. The market is where it is and it’s up to the clubs to decide yes or no. For ourselves there are certain rules. Just a few examples, but I have seen these kind of comments very often. He speaks more often about Roman and the board than usual. He tries to hide it now, with comments like ''challenge to do it with no new players'' or ''we are champions, we don't need new players'' etc. etc But I think deep inside him, he doesn't like it all.

And we sold: KDB (20m), Mata (37m), Luiz (40-50m), Schurrle (for Cuad), Lukaku (28m), released big wages players in: Cole, Lampard and Torres to be able to buy those names you've mentioned. It was even published by Sky that we have the lowest net spend of the top 6/7 clubs since Jose's return. That's something we can be proud of, but how many Lukaku's, KDB's, Luiz's and Mata's do we have left?

Jose on Moses: ‘Victor is strong, he’s experienced and he knows the Premier League well,’ pointed out the manager turning his thoughts to the winger who impressed at Stoke last term. ‘He’s fast and aggressive. Okay, he has to learn how to play with us but I’m happy with his week and his 45 minutes. Let’s see what happens but Victor had an evolution in the last couple of years.’ http://www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2015/07/mourinho-post-nyrb-.html The "let's see what happens" sounds a little bit fishy. Might go out loan again or we might sell him.
