I'm not sure if Rio is fit for today but Smalling will play and i don't think he'll ever look back. Shame he plays for utd but he has a hell of a future.

Its actually a perfect game because we can use lukaku and josh,sturridge,kalou etc and if we win against an established prem team, it will be more noticed than scoring 6 against a team from league 2. Arteta is their best signing by far but he's nowhere near Fabregas' level and he's approaching 30. They've made signings so good on em but they left it quite late and i don't believe they've bought as good as what they let go. They are weaker than they were in may. Yossi is 31.

Its all about the middle, we have the front 3, we have the back 4 or a back 4, it's just the middle and i think Mikel has to play the holding role so its litterally 2 out of Meireles, Lampard and Ramires. I can see Lampard and Meireles alternating somewhat. McEachran coould very well be in these plans too. Meireles / Lampard McEachran / Ramires Romeu / Mikel We have 2 players for each role there.

Bottom line is that we have strengthened since last season and judging Meireles yet is impossible because AVB knows him better than most and he knows why he's brought him in. He knows the pace of the premiership and may offer us something. Judge the signing at xmas, not now.

The Benayoun loaning is stupid, just sell him ffs but a loan was very weird. He knew he was surplus to requirements tho when he passed Mata the No10 shirt. Anyway, Alex stayed, McEachran wasn't loaned out and we still have the amazingly talentless Kalou and Anelka so we haven't sold and left ourselves short of cover.

He had a great spell last season which coincided with him scoring against us. He can get goals and he's very fit. He's not a worldy but a signing none the less and AVB knows exactly what he's getting.

Can't believe Arteta has gone to Arsenal. He's probably a poor mans Fabregas really although i really like him. There's no point knocking this Meireles transfer already. AVB knows him and likes him. He's our manager so don't moan about it, just trust the man ffs. If it's proved wrong, fair do's but at least he got someone in after letting yossi go.
