Was at school. It was my first day of year 10 and wow i was 14 . Got home and my Dad had the news on and we were glued to it for hours, it was insane. We still have the 10 page spread from September 12th 2001 from the newspaper the next day. Will never forget that day.

Bit of a cunt leaving him out against Leichtenstein, if ever there was a national game to get some confidence ffs. If he played the whole game for example, he woulda scored at least one! Quite annoying. Maybe he'll score 5 in the next 2 for us and ruin Scotland

Wow that's a quite stunning place. Imagine just saying "Meh, i'll buy that one". Ex Russian spy house, suppose he was destined to buy it. Still keep hearing "If Roman leaves chelsea...." etc etc, even when i got to Wembley on Tuesday i heard a group of ppl where one was saying "If Roman leaves Chelsea they'll be fucked" etc etc and now i just laugh because unlike Man City's owner who has been to just 1 match, Roman is almost always here and he's buying properties here so the question about Roman leaving is gonna be unanswered for a long fucking time. Plus he put 500m in Chelsea in case he does leave and no one even knows that outside of us. Even if he does leave, we may get another owner, we are a huge club now so we'll always have investors. If we do a leeds, well.... we've enjoyed the ride Used to always watch and the puntits/commentators made a big deal over Roman not being at the bridge for this game or that game or wow he's not been seen for 3 weeks! But nobody has said shit about Man City's owner who genuinely doesn't really give 2 shits about them. They've been to one home game since they took over.

Torres started against Liverpool on his debut and i fully expect Meireles to start on Saturday. Can't wait for this game but i'm looking forward to seeing Sturridge more than anyone else.
-
The hardest thing about answering these threads is about who will play in the positions. If we go 4-3-3/4-5-1 then i wanna see Sturridge on the left wing and Mata on the right with Torres up front. If we go 4-4-2 i wanna see Sturridge on the left of midfield and Mata on the right with Torres and Drogba up front. What would i play? 4-3-3: Cech Luiz - Ivanovic - Terry - Cole Meireles Ramires - Lampard Mata - Torres - Sturridge I've never seen Luiz at right back but i think he could do a job there, i'm not a big fan of Bosingwa even tho he's started the season well and i think Ivanovic's best position is in the center. Alex and Terry are too slow to be together in the middle imo. I would like to see Luiz in midfield but with the numbers we now have in there, that's most likely a no go. Luiz has pace, why not try him on the right? 4-4-2: Cech Ivanovic - Luiz - Terry - Cole Mata - Meireles/Lampard - Ramires - Sturridge Torres- Drogba Swapped Luiz & Ivanovic for arguments sake, Lampard may get the nod for 1 more year but undecided about him or Raul.

Went to the game today, was confident of a really good devastating performance against what is a pretty poor welsh team in reality. English football has been on the up since the world cup, young players have come in and we've looked to have a lot more energy and pace and creativity but today was back to the old slow, shit, lack of tempo bollocks we saw a year ago. Rooney did nothing, Milner... what was he even doing there? Barry.... i mean what the fuck. Lampard was there simply to be stable, settle things down and pass the ball so why have Milner and Barry there? i don't get Capello. If you're gonna have 2 up front or one off the striker, chose 2 strikers. You need two quick wingers out wide like Walcott and Young, Downing, SWP etc not Milner ffs. He looked so lost, he didn't even know what to do half the time. I was sat there not really knowing who was playing where. Rooney kept drifting, he played more like a holding midfielder and once he was at left back. Downing, Milner, Young, Who was where? Meh what a load of shit that was. It's about time he worked out his best team and stuck by it. You need Rooney behind a Defoe/Bent and you need 2 out of Young/Downing/Lennon/Walcott/SWP out wide. Players have to play in their favoured positions. He really needs to learn his best team and hurry up. Positives = We're through pretty much.

He looks really gay in that picture, hope to see him play soon tho, still never seen him play. Fulham CC must be his bow.
-
Gonna be great to see him back at the bridge for a proper send off from us. Such a solid performer and had such pride in what he did. Essien, Lampard, Ballack.... What a tough midfield that was to get through at their peak.
-
He needs to stop drifting out wide and so deep and he needs to have a few more digs at goal. He needs to play off that last defender like Darren Bent does. Of course he needs service too, Danny and Juan can provide that if they play. Malouda should be able to too. He needs that game where he scores 2 or 3. Old Trafford soon, bout time he scored against them.

Rwanda is about his level

Germans are so consistent and they always get the job done but the transfer window is now shut. Be so nice to forget about transfers for a few months now after all the shit we've read since the end of May and get on with the squad we have.
-
That 4 year deal worried me... i was almost looking for something to smash. I got into a hot, nervous flush. Bastard Alex.

Nobody knows what will happen and who will win whatever. The only thing i ask is that we give 110% every game and battle with the 2 manchester teams and not lie down like Tottenham and Arsenal did last weekend. The opening game away to Stoke was impressive although we didn't win, we didn't cave in to Stokes aerial & physical bombardment. We gave as goods as we got and in the 2nd half, we had them on the back foot which is a big difference to when we went there last season. In our 2 home games, losing 1-0 and drawing 1-1, we got the wins, although not with magnificent flowing attacking football, we did battle when needed and got the job done. We've got off to a decent, solid, relatively unscathed start and we have strengthened the squad since then with Danny to come back. Sturridge is basically another new signing, we have signed 2 wingers like we all wanted in effect, Mata and Sturridge. It's gonna be a long tough season with the way the 2 manc sides are playing but we have to hang in there, don't give in and try and do the best we can. We, like nobody, has a god given right to win matches or trophies. We all have to get stuck in and earn them and compete with the best. We have a good squad, a squad that CAN compete and that CAN win matches and trophies. We just have to believe that we are the best and show these 2 manc clubs that we are gonna be there right at the end, going for the same goal as them and that's to be premiership champions 11/12. Not a fucking stepping stone for them to achieve success. We have the players to pass teams off the pitch and we have the players to physically beat a team, even if we have to go route one, we can do it. If we fall well short of the eventual champions, there's no excuses because we do have a good enough squad to compete.
-
They were lucky to beat them at all in the 3 games they've played against them. We did annihilate WBA last season and where did that get us?
-
To be honest he was playing like a 45 year old last season.
-
We showed good tempo against Stoke and were just unlucky not to score, i think in time, we will get things right. Mata is 23, Sturridge is 21, Torres is 27, Ramires is 24, Meireles is 28, Mikel is 24, Essien (When fit) is 28, McEachran is 18. We have youth and we have experience. You need this.
-
I believe we can win it. We have good players, a good balance, plans A and B, we're not 1 dimensional and we are very solid and hard to beat. I believe we'll come 3rd but i know we can win the league.
-
I'll remember this thread in May. I don't think we're too old, it just depends who plays. We have old and young like every good team should have. It's not old, it's experienced. We can win this title, we probably wont but there's no doubting we can.
-
How the fuck would they know that lol. 42.... well i suppose it's better than being a serial rapist but ffs don't kill yourself over it. This is the strangest story i think i've read about. Not sure how this would kill u tho, i can understand being a bit.... errr dry? but dead... wow lol.
-
I'll never forget when we beat Boro 5-0 away and turnbull had the most shocking of days lol. I don't think we'll ever see turnbull again tbh, poor guy but getting paid for doing nothing is kinda lucky.
-
Torres worries me. He needs to just put in a great performance against someone shit like Arsenal, bang in 4 and say meh i'm ok. The more he goes without scoring, the more i'm getting agitated.
-
Welcome to TC, there's a gay Bosnian here somewhere, be careful of him...
-
He's simply been brought for next season or the year after. He'll get 15 appearances at most this season.
-
If you'd seen Kalou for the 5 years we have, you'd find out why we hate that useless prick. He's a fucking winger who cannot assist, score, dribble, shoot or pass. He should go on loan to Kingstonian imo then not only will he play with players his level, i could also attack him on the way out.
-
Easy really, 45 minutes, game won, move on. These games are nice to have. Ashley Young and Wayne Rooney are gonna cause everyone some real problems this season. They are kinda devastating.
