  1. Nani is a different level to Kalou but i dont like him because he's a cheating moaning piece of shit. Gerrard and Lampard are completely different players imo. Gerrard does more than Lampard in terms of tackling and driving his team on in difficult times but for sneaking unnoticed scoring valuable goals, Franks the man. Lampard is a goal scoring midfielder and the best of his generation, Gerrard is more box to box but Gerrard hides in the big games whereas Lampard in his prime didn't. Don't wanna start a Gerrard - Lampard debate....Fact is, Kalou is shit followed by a full stop.
  2. Btw have you seen how good this guy actually is? Just watched this vid, i know YT vids could make even Kalou look half decent but this is immense. Look at hom calm he is in front of goal and his penalties. He actually is like nobody i've seen before. His finishing reminds me a bit of an in-form Thierry Henry of 2002/2006
  3. No classico next season, the Police must be so fucking happy. Maybe they can volunteer to come up for the Millwall - West Ham games instead.
  4. Welcome to TC. Die heart sounds cute, it's actually die-hard but you'll grasp it i'm sure lol. Enjoy your stay.
  5. He gets most of his goals in games we've already won and very rarely scores a crucial away goal like a goal at OT or Anfield or the Emirates. I can say this with the utmost confidence that Salomon Kalou will never score a winning goal or a crucial goal in one of these stadiums nor will he play well in such a game. He's a home player when things are going great and he misses so many chances that a proper world class player would have double that Kalou total. I don't like stats much because they don't really show me how well he actually performed. Ibrahimovic is shitter than shit and look at his goal tally? Stats are just numbers on a piece of paper. I have seen Kalou play very well but only off the bench and not often enough. He'll never be first team material....he shouldn't even be at Chelsea. He's got more medals than Zola ffs! When you're playing Chesterfield at home in the Carling Cup 3rd round, you can bank on him getting the first goal but if you're away at Man Utd in a premiership decider, you can bank on him doing absolutely nothing. The kind of opponent you dream of playing against in a big game. Shame the word 'ability' is in liability.
  6. I actually agree with Henrique, Real Madrid have history yeah but that was then, Nowadays they just ruin players. They buy so many players, don't even think about strengthening positions, they just buy the best players and waste them on the bench. Robben, Van Der Vaart and Sneijder would be prime examples of this. Even Huntelaar, although he's not exactly world class, why buy him? And Owen. Post 2002, Real Madrid have just been a joke team and if Neymar goes there, he'll regret it. If you join Real Madrid, you're only going there for the stature of the club and the franchise but you have to look at which team would benefit your career the most and certainly moving to Chelsea would be a better option than going to Real Madrid who just have player overload. He probably wouldn't suit us anyway but at least he'd be something different that what we dont have that can unlock a defence. Man City are doing that atm. Bought Adebayor, had a great season then was surplus to requirements. Their top 3 players 09/10 were Bellamy, Adebayor and Tevez. Tevez wants to go home, Bellamy and Adebayor weren't in Mancini's plans the next season and went on loan.
  7. I don't like him that much, he has a real lack of discipline, gets himself sent off a lot and is part of a defensive line that ships goals for fun. He's good don't get me wrong but he's not worth what he'll be expected to cost. I'm happy for Man City to get him. Overrated imo.
  8. He was at Chelsea, yes but he was just a member of staff. Just because i support Chelsea doesn't mean i know all their staff personally....
  9. We're gonna end up loving this guy. I already like him and i barely know him yet.
  10. Well at least it's something different lol. He's only 24 too which is shocking, he looks 35. All good.
  11. Its only a nickname anyway like chicharito the tit. Givanildo Vieira de Souza is his real name so i suppose that would be Givanildo if he didn't have the nickname ANYWAY... Likely he may come to us now we have his boss, well almost. I'm sure Villas-Boas will want to bring some of his guys.
  12. 22 pages have been done here today??! Anyway what a briiliant move, fucking brilliant. Hiddink is probably a bit old and i have a feeling Roman FINALLY wants a long term manager. It's either pay €15m to get him out of Porto or give him €15m euro's pay off getting sacked after a year. I had a feeling that we were targeting someone else because Gourlay was saying a few days ago that talks were going very well and we'll get a new manager soon, even within a week. Now.... The Hiddink stuff was going all over the show with the Turks so it certainly wasn't with Guus because those talks hadn't even happened. He was still deciding whether to stay at Turkey or not. Villas-Boas is young (Fuck me he's the same age as Lampard !) and he's gonna have fresh ideas and will learn and learn. This has to be a long term idea. Fucking excited so much. I'm sure he has some players to bring with him too i'd love Falcao but with Torres and Drogba i can't see it. Hulk... really a chance, he plays as a winger right? Boy we need one (or 2) of those. Feels like when Jose came. I don't wanna compare because it's unfair maybe but he has so many similarities with the main man. This is such a good move for our club.
  13. 33 years old now. Been an amazing servant for us and unfortunately it's coming to an end but he'll always be remembered as the best goalscoring midfielder for us ever and an absolute legend. That injury he got last year really fucked him up because i reckon he probably had a bit left in the tank but i feel he's very nearly done now. Hopefully he'll continue to play for us like Scholes did for Man Utd, just a bit part roll and some experience off the bench. Will always be a Chelsea legend tho.
  14. I've love him to come to us just to get Cescpit out the premiership. Plus David Villa aint bad... Torres' spain partner, Nando would love it and so i would i. Could u just imagine a front 3 of Drogba, Torres & Villa... wow. Lukaku can watch. Anyway although it makes huge sense (At least to me) it probably wont happen.
  15. That was quite horrible to take lol, Scott Sinclair started well and Smalling was excellent, certainly our best player of the tournament. We just had no cutting edge at all all through the match and in the tournament. The Czechs just sat back and played for 0-0 but maybe they were distracted knowing a draw was alright for them because they are better than they showed this evening. Although we were the better team today, we certainly don't deserve to progress. That leaves Spain to win yet another trophy. At least they didn't win the U17 Euro's and talking of the U17's, England beat Rwanda in their opening match of the U17 World Cup in Mexico tonight. Bit of cheer
  16. The Argie league without River Plate vs Boca Juniors? Please win those playoffs River! Madness. In Spain, Deportivo went down In Italy, Sampdoria went down Football is going mad
  17. Congrats Sh0n3x, hope you do well in the role. I'm sure u will do better than Vedran tho
  18. Wow.... heard about this on SSN, that's some intent right there. Fuck off city, we can spend big too fuckers! Abramovich is currently the ninth richest person in Russia and the 53rd richest person in the world, according to the 2011 Forbes list, with an estimated fortune of $13.4 billion. Euro's and pounds are pretty much the same now so he's got a hell of a lot of dough and what is £50m if u have £13,000m?
  19. 2002 WC where they didn't qualify through the group, kinda revenge for us from '98 bastards. Group of death? not sure about that.... Sweden aint great, Nigeria were crap and England in a world cup? We're like the shittest team in a world cup. We drop to Scotland's level (No offence Scottish peeps!) in the big tournaments. To be honest i've never even heard of him and wasn't aware he was the Argie boss in 2002
  20. We'll miss the Africans for Man Utd? shit. Well..... We had an 'easy' start last season and after beating Blackburn away we had our best start for 5 years. Look what happened. Anyway everyone has to play these games and everyone will have a tough spell or 2 so it doesn't matter when we play who.
  21. Blimey, well best of luck for that Can someone change the thread title btw, it's 11/12 lol.
  22. THe run in is very hard with those last few away games. Man Utd and Arsenal have VERY tough starts. Anfield 2nd to last brings back nice memories. Fulham home on Boxing Day. Tough opening game but we can't always have it easy. I believe we'll win anyway. I'm pretty happy with that. Gonna be in the Philippines between November 6 - December 8 so need to find a way to catch that Liverpool home game. Where there's a will, there's always a way anyway.
  23. Opening days: 1999/2000 HOME vs Sunderland won 4-0 2000/2001 HOME vs West Ham won 4-2 2001/2002 HOME vs Newcastle drew 1-1 2002/2003 AWAY vs Charlton won 3-2 2003/2004 AWAY vs Liverpool won 2-1 2004/2005 HOME vs Man Utd won 1-0 2005/2006 AWAY vs Wigan, won 1-0 2006/2007 HOME vs Man City won 3-0 2007/2008 HOME vs Birmingham won 3-2 2008/2009 HOME vs Portsmouth won 4-0 2009/2010 HOME vs Hull won 2-1 2010/2011 HOME vs West Brom won 6-0 won 10, drew 1, lost 0. Last 5 have been at home.
  24. I can plan my holiday again tomorrow then, usually do the week from the Charity Shield to the first day but not actually sure when the season starts tbh. I don't mind who we get really, just don't want to see stupid spells like Man Utd, Man City, Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool all like in a row around x-mas. Lets get Swansea away.
