Champions League Final 2012 - Chelsea 1 (4)-(3) 1 Bayern Munich
Ollie replied to BlueLion.'s topic in Champions Archive
Forget JT's slip, forget Iniesta, forget Garcia, Forget Ovrebo, forget everything. It's done. Wiped out, finished, no more heartache and such a monkey off the back, it's like an Elephant off the back. -
Legend
-
Was shocked beyond belief when i saw him starting but these occasions will just make him grow so much as a player.
-
His Chelsea career is complete. He should now go down as our greatest forward ever. I think seriously he should relax now and go and finish his career is the USA. As Henrique rightly said, he's got nothing left to prove unless he want to win the World Club Championship and Super Cup to fully complete the set. Apparently there will be talks in the week over his contract, lets just see what happens with it. I'll never be able to thank him enough for what he's done here.
-
He changed the game when he came on but was nice for him to congratulate Ryan, that was a nice touch. We looked so much better when Torres came on tho. I think he was saying to Robbie "No, i don't want a penalty, please let me sit down". He's now won the UCL, World Cup, European Championships and FA Cup. He needs that Prem trophy now to really stick it to the scousers.

Because i'm a man of my word and because we've just won the European Cup, i have just donated the £100 that i promised if we won

Aching. When in the pub yesterday, we got into a hooligan like brawl. It seemed as tho a group was gotten together to ambush us and attack us. Think they were a bunch of pikeys, there was a brawl, anti Chelsea related. My dad got knocked to the floor, i emptied my pint and launched the pint glass at his head, some others got stuck in. They all came at us, especially when Schweinsteiger missed it was like a stampede. I've got a big bruise on my foot for kicking a chair (not smart), bruise on my inside leg, bruise on my head and a bruise on my arm. But just like Chelsea, we got attacked but we are still standing. Wasn't good tho, had lots of family i'd not seen for ages and there were kids present. It did mar the night, it kicked off so badly i didn't even see us lift the trophy :-( Very happy tho, we are European champions and that calls for more Alcohol.

It's the fairy tale of all fairy tales. Fighting relegation in December, winning the Champions League and FA Cup in may. It's a whirlwind

Ok now i'm sober (slightly) and feeling good, i can have a little speech yay. Well what can i even say to be honest? After all the torment since 2004, i can't believe we've finally done it. Our name was on the cup, i don't usually say or believe that shit but it really was, this was our year! How many times have we been dead, once... no, twice.....no, 3 times.... no but 4! We had a nervy group phase where going into matchday 6 we had to beat Valencia just to even get through and then needed to hope Leverkusen fucked up against Genk away to top the group which indeed happened so we didn't just get through, we topped the group. Then Napoli, 3-1 down after the first leg to then go through 4-1 AET, the 3-1 was the lowest point of the season. There was discontent, division, unrest and obviously change was needed and AVB was indeed sacked not long after. We then knocked out Benfica to get another shot an FC Barcelona. Winning the 1st leg 1-0 somehow, we conceded then lost our captain then conceded again and were looking like getting a good hammering but NO! We shall not be fucking beaten! Ramires' magic just on half time and the Torres' famous last minute leveller put us into the Final for the first time since 2008. I didn't know what to think really leading up to the game. On a football basis i thought we were second favourites, in the very home of Bayern Munich and with JT, Ivan, Raul and Rami all suspended i couldn't see how we'd win but on the other hand it just seemed like fate had got us here and someone or something was now going to accept that this is Chelsea's time. Like most of our other games, possession wasn't with us, we let them play, we defended like lions. We got battered in truth but that's how we play. We know what we're good at and it was almost the feeling of 'thou shalt not pass'. Then disaster, Muller scores with just 7 minutes to go, 7 fucking minutes, shit surely now our luck is out. We get a corner, 2 minutes to go, our first corner of the game and DROGBAAAAAAA!! and another Neville orgasm, the header flies in and again we will not stay down! Extra time.... more Bayern pressure, Drogba fouls Ribery in the box, Fabregas-esque, i thought, genuinely that this was it because i couldn't see us escaping again and again. We're never gonna win the Champions League. Robben stepped up, the ex Chelsea boy to break our hearts, he struck the ball quite powerfully but Cech saved it! we were still there, breathing and not gonna let this opportunity go. I said to everyone around me "We've won it, our name's on it, it's ours" i realised that our name is genuinely on this. Then, what all of us dreaded. That 'P' word. PENALTIES There's me saying we've won but then it hits me again. Penalties? English against Germans? in... GERMANY!? oh shit! They scored their first 3, we missed our first. They needed just 2 pens to win. Cech saves from Olic and there's 1 pen each to go. Schweinsteiger.... the Captain, the man who scored the winning penalty in Madrid, a GERMAN! stepped up to put his side 4-3 up. He stutters, guides it towards the bottom corner but Cech pushes it onto the post and now we just need one to win. Just like Moscow. But this time it wasn't JT stepping up, this time Drogba was still on the pitch to take the 5th. He took like 2 strides and put it in like it was a friendly. We had done it, we have won the ultimate prize against Germans, in Germany, on Penalties. I used to always say winning on pens is a shit way to win but for this occasion, it was the perfect and most fitting way to get the job done. And we've fucked Tottenham and put Arsenal in a qualifier YES! It's fitting tho, as we were founded in 1905 to win the big one on 19th May (19/05) just perfect and just like Liverpool in 1984, we went into the lions den. We took on a team in the final in their own stadium and won on pens. Super cup and World Club Championships here we come baby. Going to the parade this afternoon, it's gonna be another fantastic day. I can't wait! -

i'm trying so hard to post but i cant, it's so hard right now. I love you all, hope i can see some of you tomorrow for the parade. i'm fucked, night. -
lol that was good, sounded a bit like a fifa ultimate team podcast haha but i liked it, nice go hear some of you guys. "I've had to have a drink every day this week" lol Matt you piss head but i can't blame ya, it does feel like that and i'll get horrendously drunk too later, hopefully for the good reason. Not too optimistic bout the UCL it seems and tbh neither am i with the players we have missing but at the end of the day, their defence is pretty fucked too and if Drogs is really at it, we'll get the job done. I just can't imagine Gary Cahill lifting a UCL trophy.... seems just weird. Been a weird season tho so weird things can happen.
-
After Moscow we still had a secured UCL spot for the next season and it was our first final. Also the lads still had a decent age so could go again. This one is more nervy for me because if we don't win it this time, JT, Lamps, Didier and Ash will never win it. I want us to win it for them and the thought of Lamps captaining the team in a UCL Final after what happened to his mum, it's huge for him. And to knock Tottenham out of the UCL too and get the spot ourselves.... and be the first London team to win it. There are so many reasons why winning this is massively massive lol. How am i feeling.... Scared beyond belief. I'm so worried about Luiz & Cahill.

1st year he was awesome and unpredictable, 2nd year he was very good but defenders learning about him, 3rd year everyone sussed him and he pussied out of games and got injured all the time. He could've been a legend but let himself down with his weakness. Wasn't our fault. It was Jose that Sold him so why does he still love Jose so much? just more media build up shit.

He reps when he wants, he reps when he waaaaaaants, Capriccioso he reps when he wants! I do agree but then some people will join to say good stuff about us too and some Chelsea fans will come so i'd say leave it but be on standby and keep high levels of security with shotguns and uzi's. Anyway Cap have a rep.

Yeah but we're playing Bayern, not Germany, the team that missed 2 and i'm sure a German missed at least one of the 2, can't remember who missed em now tho off the top of my head. Would be great for an English team to beat a German team on pens tho, especially in a UCL Final in Germany.... damn how would that feel. -
If we lose, expect loads of haters coming here to gloat and try n mess the boards up. Just a warning, be prepared. You'll get Germans, Catalans, Yids, the lot. I will be horribly drunk and teary but i will find a way to come here even if i end up typing a line of jibbering shite.

I think people are just voting from peoples past reputation. Term X and Henrique could stop posting for a year but still i bet would get nominated for this award next year.

They did miss 2 tho in the Semi shootout, and if it wasn't thanks to Ramos aiming for a pidgeon they may have lost it. -

I don't think any 'bug' or fever or even the Flu would stop someone playing in the UCL Final. Especially not Robben after all he's been through in this tournament since 2005. This is the pinnacle of club football. I hope he plays, we've done our homework on him, i'd rather not be against someone unknown with unpredictability. These types of players are dangerous in games like these.
