  1. It's a great place, a place i could never leave but people have been known to leave because of the bickering and many have been banned, warned, suspended etc so it's not quite as cosy as may seem. I've been here since the start tho so i'm used to it and know basically everyone so i actually somewhat enjoy the bickering and arguments. I'm not sure how a new member would fare if i'm honest. Can be off putting seeing some of our threads and understanding some of our members.
  2. Yeah, was gonna say they wear blue too so i'm guessing this just sooo does not even work lol. Gonna seem weird seeing Anelka and Drogba up front for a chinese team. Hopefully i / we can find some access to games or at least highlights.
  3. fed up with bickering between fans etc.... hmmm ok so u came here. Welcome to TC, hope you can stay lol.
  4. We had this whole saga last season and we won the UCL and FA Cup. Tottenham had the stronger squad and better players but won fuck all (again). There's no way we need top spend 30-40 million more on someone else. We maybe need a another solid midfielder in the Ballack/Lampard/Essien mould with strength and power who can attack and defend but not a player like Modric when we have Mata, Hazard and Ramires. I can't see what this transfer at that price will achieve. Let him go to Spain.
  5. Ashley Cole going back to Palace would be nice, not the type of thing you'd associate with him tbh. He did score a lovely goal for them against Blackburn 12 years ago I can understand him leaving, like Drogs, he's won the lot so it doesn't matter to me even if Ash, JT and Lamps all left now tbh. The new era is upon us. The last 8 years has been the best era of all time.
  6. For Hutch, is he fit or not? At the end of the day he retired but hasn't been tested. What really is the situation with the injury? If it's 100% perfect, he should be our 2nd choice RB, i was at the Chelsea - QPR game in the CC, he was absolutely flawless so definitely has the potential if he is fit. If he's not fit, he shouldn't have been taken back or shouldn't have come out of retirement. If he's available, that means he has to be judged like the rest. I'm not judging him on 1 game but that game showed me that he can progress and be a capable Chelsea defender for years to come. As for Josh, he's a small, agile, ball playing midfielder who is pretty good technically. I don't see him as a CDM, he's not strong enough or commanding but we have so many players that can occupy the 3 places behind the striker and we're linked with more so seriously, time or not, he's not in the plans by the looks of it. He should go to a team like Villa or West Ham, maybe with Yossi, he'll mist likely go too even tho i like him a lot. PVA was ahead of Bertrand imo but Bertrand is deemed the more solid defender so he's ahead. PVA has a good attacking threat tho and also a pretty good strike on him. He impressed me a lot in the Carling Cup home to Newcastle in the 4-3 defeat a couple seasons ago, i still think he could make it if Cole was already 34, PVA and Ryan could be the 2 but the reality is that Cole is still only 32, he's still class and we'll buy to replace rather than inherit from within, probably same as RB. PVA can't wait forever. he'll need to go elsewhere like Josh to progress. And Gael, same boat as Josh but is a bit older and has been here a while now. Signed 5 years ago, he's never cemented his place, been banned and loaned out a few times and just has not settled at all. With the players we have and are linked with, again... his future lies elsewhere because of his position and expected role in the team.
  7. 1996 - 2004 were the worst years of my life. Most of my mates were Arsenal fans when i was at school growing up. We never beat em no matter what the circumstances were they just would not lose to us. I remember Lee Dixon scoring in injury time in 95/96 to save a 1-1 draw at Highbury, Winterburn scoring with 2 minutes to go to beat us at the bridge 3-2 in 97/98, Kanu infamously with his hattrick in 1999/2000 when we were 2-0 up with 15 minutes to go and then Silvinho does the last second equaliser against us the very next season after we were 2-0 up to draw 2-2. The UCL game at Highbury and even the Community Shield in 2005 live long in the memory. Then we finally beat them in the league thanks to a lucky Drogba goal and sealed the double over them with a 2-0 at Highbury. Since then, we've dominated them a bit. Even to this day, i get unbelievably nervous when we're about to face Arsenal. Forget Man Utd, Liverpool, Man City, Tottenham, fuck even Barcelona.... Arsenal are the 1 team i love to see us beat more than anything and i hate us to lose to them as much so i genuinely feel sick just before each game through nerves and fear of losing to them. I'll never forget how much pain they gave to me when i was young. The 5-3 last season was so painful as was the 3-1 the year before but that 5-3 was something that was hard for me to take, especially watching it with my best mate who's a gooner (from those school days, known him since i was 7) and my gooner mate from work (Amongst other Chelsea - Arsenal ppl i knew). We stopped them from being the first team ever to win the domestic treble tho in '98 and stopped em winning the UCL in 2004 so all good. Hell.... i even went to a Chelsea - Arsenal game in 02/03 i think it was. I wanted to be there when Chelsea beat Arsenal, since Hughes scored in a 1-0 win ages ago. They had loads of Injuries, we had our full team, big favourites. 1-0 up, Zola free kick. Toure comes on for his Arsenal Debut to a chorus of "Whoooooooo" then yeah, he equalises and the game finished 1-1. Pub, Brighton, 2002 FA Cup final. Arsenal going for the double, us having had a pretty shit league season were trying to make it a good one. Hasselbaink and Gudjohnsen both not fully fit but played anyway, we actually played very well, closed em down, played some good football but didn't look like scoring. Parlour and Ljungberg both score wonder goals out of the blue and Arsenal win 2-0. And down the pub in 2004, The Maverick in Tolworth/Chessington ish. Arsenal had just knocked us out the FA Cup for the 3rd straight year and we had them just a few days later at the Bridge. I remember Glenn Hoddle in the studio and they were showing the Hughes goal from 95/96, the last Chelsea goal to beat Arsenal, 8 years ago! 1st vs 2nd, Arsenal unbeaten, the laws of averages surely surveyed a Chelsea win, surely. Gudjohnsen scores after less than a minute wooooooo finally we're gonna beat them and they won't go unbeaten all season cunts!! err yeah, Vieira and Edu score just before half time, Gudjohnsen gets sent off with around 15 minutes left, we lose 2-1 and most of the pub was Arsenal. I could write more but i think you get the point. I fucking DESPISE Arsenal FC.
  8. I know, the weather is annoying in the extreme. Eastern Europe is hotter than is been for years and we aint had anything nice since the clocks went forward. Good luck in England and bettering your English. Your English is pretty good anyway, i can see you wont struggle much making it better. I want to learn more languages too because i do feel like a disrespectful lazy bastard at times, it would be great to interact with more people from around the globe. It's getting the time tho i suppose. And 'motivation & dedication'. I think us English are just lazy in nature anyway.
  9. Random resident Italian nutter, have some of our rain. This is our forecast for next week in the peak of SUMMER!!!
  10. The 'Skinny' part is easily solved with a Kebab (or 5) and a bit more of an appetite lol and then weights a few times a week. I was at a gym for 6 years but was a lazy fucker but if you are motivated, you can achieve what you want. When doing weights if it's mass you want, use fairly heavy weights and increase the reps every week or so. You could also start low and put the weight heavier every 2 weeks or so it's up to you. I've recently gone back to some free weights doing 5 sets of 12 reps on about 10kg each arm, then can go to 15, 20 etc, etc. If you go to a gym you can also use machines and do pretty much the same routine with them. Start at a relatively low weight to get used to your routine, then go up 5kg every 2 weeks or so. Diet doesn't matter overly if its mass you're after. Just look at Rugby players lol. Don't do weights every day tho, the body needs 24 hours to rest. If u do like Monday, Wednesday, Friday consistently every week, it should be good. I'm no gym expert tho, just going on what i've been told and worked on before i had to leave my gym because of my shit working hours. Might join back for 6 weeks tho soon as my work times are changing for the Olympics.
  11. Pretty shocked but i'm sure he's a decent choice....... No shitty gay troll (homophobic, ban me!) smiley! but yeah, congrats, the best candidate.
  12. How to gain muscle mass = Join a gym and lift weights 3-5 times a week, every week and drink protein shakes n shit. Damn...i was looking for the '5 things on your mind' thread but its GONE! noooo anyway i wanna learn Tagalog or Filipino but ffs what a cunt of a language that is to learn. I can't even memorise 1 word or spell or pronounce it. I can't learn simple languages so learning that is gonna be impossible.
  13. Elfmeterscheissen = Shit Penalty. Elfmeterschiessen = Penalty Shootout Funny, tho. It was both.
  14. Can't dodge this one although i'm sure many people already know my views. Arsenal, easily.
  15. Welcome to TC, hope you enjoy being active here. I think we all ages 10 years that night mate.
  16. Maybe he'll do better than Vialli did there lol. http://news.bbc.co.u...ord/2737337.stm
  17. Mata does more than Silva. In Silva's 2 seasons with Man City, he only made a real impact from the start of the season just past but didn't do a lot after the turn of the year. I think Mata is actually quicker than Silva too.
  18. With the players we're linked with and signing, i doubt that will be with us. I can't see how he'll get in.
  19. Lucas Piazon has the makings to become a star. He could seriously go a long way. I fear for Josh, Gael, Hutch and PVA. I just don't think their Chelsea careers are ever going to kick start. This is the last chance for all of em.
  20. ITV / Sky need to make the DVD's, it's a copyright thing i suppose. I actually recorded the 2008 sky Moscow Final, wish i'd done the same 6 weeks ago.
  21. Best 2 adidas aways but i would've preferred if the adidas was on the right side instead of the middle. Would've been perfect if the white was the away and the black, the 3rd.
  22. That can be done already i bet with every member here about someone. Might even be you about Victor Moses in the not so distant future. We all have opinions and should be entitled to express them without arguing altho it can be fun. Sturridge (again off topic) has all the pace, confidence, skill and ability but he doesn't show it enough. He started last season really well but when it got into the business end, he faded and when he had his opportunities to make an impact and put a case for starting, he showed nothing. I have a feeling if next season isn't his last, the year after will be. I do like him but has a pretty shit attitude sometimes.
  23. This was a big toss to win, England won it and the only rational thing to do was put the Aussies in to bat. Clarke would've bowled if he had the choice too but that's the way it goes. The pitch is drier now and much more batsmen friendly than it was a few hours ago. Think this should be in the cricket thread anyway lol
  24. I can understand locking the match threads but the post match threads shouldn't get locked. There's always something to say about it. That DVD will 100% be purchased by yours truly. Also...that shootout win was our first ever penalty shootout victory in Europe was it not?
