What did you guys think was gonna happen when we played a 3-5-2 with Azpilicueta and Zouma playing as wide as they were against a fit, hungry team eager to impress their coach when our new keeper looked like he was a backup for a MLS club? Costa visually looked a little bit bigger and should've had at least 2, Oscar didn't look good. RLC as a 10 was interesting. Loved that Moses looked like he had something to prove.
On a brighter note, I got RLC to smile and give me a thumbs up and JT to smile and wave so I felt like a 10 year old girl for about 5 seconds last night

You are also far away from seeing the better Chelsea. As for your comment about us not adapting the high tensity pressure for a full game, you would be wrong. We produced exactly that at the Etihad some weeks ago....high intense pressure, counter attacking football and this is against the best squad in Europe, at the Etihad where they had an impeccable record until we came along.
We have nothing to lose now according to many, we are already out, that's fine by me. But the truth remains there is 90minutes+ still to play, and a once great man named Jimmy Greaves once said "It's a funny old game"
    See you Tuesday.

That was really a good match... What i can say is that I was really impressed by Chelsea in the 1st half, but I don't think you can pull this style of play during an entire game, plus your player looked totally exausted at the end of the game.
I agree that we scored 3 goal on 3 errors from your defense. I won't recall the penalty on cavani at the end of the 1st half, i agree it's not an obvious one and that's football... But what I can say for sure, is that you are really far away from having seen what our team really is. You only catched a glimpse in the second half. Our strentgh isn't ibra ou silva, it's our midfield. And if our player aren't scared of you like during the 1st half of the home game, you are never going to see the ball.
So of course we won't have zlatan, but we'll still have Cavani, who did a shitty game wednesday and who won't do it twice.... I'll just recall you that Ramires is suspended for the match at Stamford Bridge, as a consequence your only best 11 midfielder will be David Luiz... good luck

Nothing's done yet. You only pay the musicians at the end of the ball (sorry literal translation).
Had the game finished 2 min earlier, Chelsea would still be favorites and now Paris are, and I'd go for 65-35 before the next leg. I may sound pessimisitc but 2 0 can come very fast.
Now regarding the game, the first half was strange. The first goal came very fast (too fast ?). Lavezzi was in a very though body position when kicking but he made it. You blame Cech but it came from a huge mistake from Terry.
Then Chelsea ketp the ball and dominated while Paris were defending; the contrary of what we were expecting. Did Paris decide to wait in their part of the pitch after the goal? It makes no doubt that Chelsea decided to attack and keep the ball. They were impressive but this ball possession did not generate many goals opportuinities. Then, came Silva's foul. It was real but avoidable, a playr like TS can't do such an useless fool, even if Oscar made nothing to avoid him, which was smart. Then until the end of the half, the match became balanced again, even if turning point of the game was Hazard's shoot on goalspot.
Then the second half, Paris scored twice, Cavani missed two goal opportunities.
Regarding Paris' performance, I was sure Lavezzi, Matuidi and Jalled were going to be in big troubles in that game, they finally were the 3 best players. Ibrahimovic was just awful from the very beginning, he even lost the ball that led to the penalty. But given his record in knockout phase, it was predictable ... Cavani was bad and just improved when he went in the centre after Ibrahimovic injury. Veratti was awful in the first half, kept the goal way too much, took too muck risks. TS missed his first half too. They were all better in the second half and they managed to keep the ball as they usually do.
Regarding Chelsea (I won't go in details, I was more focused on Paris), let me give you my view as someone who didn't see Chelsea that often ... The first goal chenged their plan, but from Lavezzi's goal, I really find Chelsea impressive when they kept the ball. This ball possession was not very efficient but impressive. After the goal, let alone the goalspot, the match was more balanced. Don't understand why Chelsea did not keep attacking as they were doing? Weren't they able to? Was it a choice? It was a great opportunity to kill Paris.
Now the second leg. Ibrahimovic may have been a flop yesterday, it very bad news. Cavani is as good as him as CF but Paris will lose Cavani's definding work on the right side. And I don't know how Paris will start the game. Will they attack to try to score at least a goal? Or will they defend? We saw during the first half that they do not know to be a defensive team and let ball to the opposition. It will be very hard game but it's an opportunity to show they're really a great team.
Both teams were very tired and will play on Saturday. Most of Paris' players playing next tuesday will probably have some rest, while Chelsea will play an important game for race for the Premier League.
    For supersitious people :
Chelsea: everything you said about Napoli in 2012 (3-1, Stoke, ...)
PSG: last time a French team (Monaco) played against Chelsea in the knockout phase, 3-1 in the first leg (same scenario, 1-0, 1-1 after the first half, 2-1, 3-1), then 2-2 in Stamford Bridge

It's not that the result wasn't deserved or it's not still doable, but that third goal, especially the timing was like punch to the stomach.
Dude, are you seriously complaining about strikers like Ibra and Cavani on Chelsea forum?! Fine, give them to us and take Torres and Ba!

To those thinking this is over

Yes I know the team back then was different, but a little hope goes along way, especially for the team. If Jose comes in the dressing room and said to the players "the tie is over" then the tie is surely 100% over, but its not, not yet. Even if theres only a little chance, a little hope, we have to keep on believing.

I was quite happy with the 2-1 given the circumstances, while the 3-1 makes me angry, it's doable.
If that's what PSG has to show, I'm ABSOLUTELY SURE we'll qualify... but it seems their fans are admitting they also played sub par.
Even their second half wasn't that good. We were shaky defensively AGAIN and while Luiz had his own issues - including an own goal (from a foul that never existed imo), our DEFENSE's been shaky for a few matches now. The only salvageable there is Azpili at the moment. Cech, Cahill, Iva, Terry all making stupid mistakes - whether they become goals or not. Then you have a poor piss midfield ahead of them like we did today in the second and it's a disaster waiting to happen.
As it stands now we don't have ANY - I'll repeat ANY - attacking players to save us in the second leg except Samuel Eto'o. Let me say it again to make it very clear, NO other player.
Willian, Oscar and Hazard will have to prove to have balls. All three of them and the responsibility is proportional to their talent and time at the club. Meaning Hazard has to show more balls than Oscar who has to show more than Willian (who's older, but still adapting way too much). If those guys don't grow a pair, it'll be difficult. We don't need the three of them to do it, but at least one. Oscar was shy and anonymous, Hazard didn't make the best decisions at all - except that woodwork at the end of the first half and Willian was the most lively of them, but still not enough - far from it. Schurrle was playing out of position and every single time he was well positioned, he didn't receive the ball. I want to slap the rest of the team.
I believe if PSG don't raise their level (not sure if they can), we'll qualify, but I don't believe much in this team because they lack character... not that they're bad players or bad people, they're too young, too fragile, too easily intimidated. They're simply not ready. The 2012 team was the opposite of this. They gave their blood in the pitch even if technically that team wasn't very good. This team doesn't have that profile yet and when you combine that with the shaky defense and the nonexistent attack, it's nearly impossible to win anything. Still I believe we can do it at the Bridge. It's beyond there that we're completely hopeless, in case we do win.
And I can't see PSG scoring a goal without a mistake from us. They were rarely dangerous on their own today... we were a joke - as Mourinho wisely defined...

You first half was very impressive.I didn't recognize my team. I was kind of shocked to see Paris players unable to keep the ball as they use to.
But we played quite well in the second half despite Cavani. This guy should play 9. He's useless on a wing.
It's far from over but i like our chance.
Good luck for next tuesday. I'll be in Stamford Bridge.

    Are you serious?
PSG are a group of individuals playing in a second-rate league for money. We're a proper team, with players who have been there and done it and still have the drive and desire to prove themselves at the very top level. We're favourites for this tie for a reason.

PSG were not much difference to us. Not belittling any of us but saying PSG was no one before their owner came is untrue and quite hypocritical. They were similar to us really. They have been in the UCL without their rich owners and have always been a big team in France. Like us though, since we have got rich owners it has improved our success on the field. Nice way to put it. We are just throwing stones in glassed houses if we criticise each other's history. Let's just talk about the game.

I'm tired of this argument ...
If PSG was nothing before Qatar arrived, then so was Chelsea before Abramovitch arrived. The latest few years before new owner arrived may have been better for Chelsea, but both clubs were roughly in the same situation: 2 CWP for Chelsea, 1 for Paris, 1 National league for Chelsea, 2 for Paris, 3 national cups for Chelsea, 8 for Paris.
I have no problem with you telling that Chelsea is going to win easily but at least try to be honnest when talking about the past.

    Hey everyone,
Just like some of my fellow PSG fans, I wanted to check out what Chelsea fc fans thought about the game. I’m not going to talk about the 5 pages of ridiculous trashing from fans of both sides. Just wanted to point out, from my french point of view, that one or two fans don’t talk for a whole crowd, a club or a nation. So please don't go generalising.
Back to the game. Clearly this game is for us the most exciting game of the season. Best opposition of the season, best coach, English team. Everything a Frenchman will love. Now I perfectly agree that the level difference between EPL and L1 is crucial to some. But to be honest considering the tactics PSG uses I am not sure this will have that much of an impact.
I read somewhere that are back line, especially the wings, were weak. That is a big mistake that you could pay dearly. What you need to understand is that the PSG this year plays very much like Barcelona (not saying we’re matching them). Meaning possession, possession, possession. In that kind of tactic, wingers play 90% of the game as midfielders. When the team loses the ball, they need to rush back. Which means they need speed, which van der wiel and Jallet (will probably play on the right) have. Maxwell doesn’t, but compensates by experience and anticipation. You also need to take into account cavani and lavezzi have a huge defensive impact and can do that during a whole game. Finally, Matuidi pretty much has 4 lungs, and will support both wings when needed (see his game france vs Spain 1-1). I am not saying our wings are immensely strong, far from that, but if paris has the possession they will rarely be in a difficult defensive position.
What I think is that at that level of competition, all teams can beat each other, Chelsea v. psg being the closest draw. On psg forums there is absolutely no feeling of superiority. We are definitely confident about the team, but know this is going to be a very tough game. We will not go through easily if we do.
Finally one point that hasn’t been discussed and that I believe will count. PSG is a physical team with what we call “malice” (small fouls behind the ref’s back, talking a lot, etc…) with our Italian midfielders. So I believe this leg could come down to Luiz, Verratti or Motta getting sent out.
It’s going to be a huge game, but I don’t foresee a lot of goals. I see 2-1 for psg at the Parc, and 1 all at the Bridge.
