  1. Wiith Torres, Morata we were doing well. Remember 6-0 against Arsenal inside 20 minutes ? Things got progressively bad, then desperate after Hazard left and also after Willian, Giroud left.
  2. Both statements are true. If we had Diego of 2017 now and the rest as they are, things would be better. But the absence of mobility is the bigger problem and with a free flowing team, I d' settle for Ba or Remy.
  3. Those players we have are all sticks of wood dressed in football shirts. They cannot move the ball into the opponent's area and if you cannot move the ball into the opponent's area then with or without a proper striker you won't score a goal. The only exception yesterday was Kante who was given an attacking role. You could see how he differed from the others and he also had a good effort at goal. Unfortunately he is awful at passing the ball (always so) and could be of no more help. The rest are sticks of wood.

  5. The matches that follow are Arse, Bournemouth, Forest, City, Mc Guire, Newcastle. Only Forest, Newcastle at home. For the projected number of points I 'm finding it difficult to say other than zero. However we don't relegate. Of the five strugglers the nearest one is 9 points behind. Three of them will have to become giants in order for us to drop. But there is always next season. Next season's Southampton-Norwich will be Chelsea as things stand.
  6. Although the predicament is such as it is, I am furious with Greek soccer sites who insist upon writing our name as Τσέλσι with an ι. The correct spelling is Τσέλση of course. This is vazivouzoukism at its worst.
  7. He ought to. Unless the squad is to be changed by 100%.
  8. This is a relegation side. You can't ask for more. But the players of relegation sides cost 3000 quid at most.
  9. Nadelsmann and Enrique are out is the latest gossip. Mauricio Pochettino maybe but I insist Unai Emery should be the target.
  10. Watched Fulham against Leeds. I wish we had William now - probably would have saved Potter's skin.
  11. You know you are a down and outer when you can't even laugh with Mc Guire jokes.
  12. I know Chelsea is different ... But the system in Madrid was wrong and Real are not a team you can really keep at bay by parking the bus.
  13. Not quite dissimilar teams, Real certainly not. Dissimilar is Real of 1971.
  14. Everything had to work to perfection yesterday, goals + clean sheet. We beat them 2-0 two years ago but it would n't matter if it was 2-1. This time a miracle was needed and it seldom happens. But the problem is always the same: No productivity. We seem to have only one move: James from the right wing and very little else.
  15. I 'm not sure about Leao, maybe. But players like Mudryk from leagues way below the premiership standard are always suspect. He had a goodish chance in the last minutes to score the goal of honour and he skied it.
  16. Obviously Lamps has nothing to offer. But I cannot blame him for today - I blame him for the Madrid system. As for goals he can't bring them, nobody can with this lot.
  17. Chalobah ended this match. You would n't get more free space than Rodrygo did if you bought Stamforf bridge.
  18. This happens when you are trying to overturn a 2-0 defeat. But we played well and -as usual- we could n't convert. The way we played in Madrid was bad. We gave them 3/4 of the field without resistance and we did n't escape in the end. We should have pressed them like today - they are good at passing but not superhuman. After all TT put the press on them last year and the year before and he managed to extinguish them.
  19. I can understand not scoring a goal - typical Chelsea - fair enough. But what was the problem of playing like that in Madrid ??
  20. FROM BET365 FOOTBALL SHORTS: Took Aston Villa when they had 12 points from 13 matches after the 4-0 defeat to Newcastlw. Five months later has the highest percentage of wins than any other manager in the clubs history, accumilating 38 points in 18 matches, while he just beat Newcastle by 3-0. In 2023 Aston Villa have collected the most points and would be first in the table. Changed Villa from relegation strugglers to a team fighting for a position leading to Europe. 𝐔𝐧𝐚𝐢 𝐄𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐲
  21. Everybody was crazy about Potter back in September. We were n't but because we disagreed with the sacking of TT, not because we knew Potter was d*gshit.
