So City came with many reserves, that's why they were crushed so easily. Last year was a 1-1 draw and the year before a thriller 2-1 win. Still it was a very enjoyable performence, better than Newcaslte who were a very much inferior team. Oscar's miss proves he's not a pen taker. He stopped as well to make the keeper dive and then shot straight at him rather than the other corner !

Extraordinary. The bookies were spot on. The same please against the psinakis character.
-
Chelsea 1.83 with the bookies. That means -as bookie prices go- Chelsea win or the lights go out. I did n't expect such a low price. The other two seem more logical. Spurs at 1.60, W. Ham at 2.30.

This one will be a test for the replay against Paris St Germain. City play the same football, albeit they are 1/2 - 1 class below the French team. They have some remote chances for the league too, but the way things are now I think we are the favourites. City are better than United, of whom I did not expect to play so well against us as they did.

As conspiracy theories go, how do you know the club itself are not instructing him to "take it easy" ? The fact is he does n't score. But he does n't shoot free kicks and even penalties not any more. When Costa was not scoring I was a lot more worried.

We could not keep them at bay. For me the best defensive performence ever was Jose's 0-0 against Atletico in the semi of 2014. Atletico might have scored with a fluke from 40 yards out, but they could not penetrate. Yesterday it was PSG v. Courtois for long spells of the game, just like it was Barcelona v Cech in 2012 (when we were down to 10 men). Under the circumstances we did have our chances but the ball favoured their efforts in the end. Because I 'm a regular live bettor, in the last twenty minutes one should have placed a bet for "PSG to score the third goal". The clue is "do they have possession and reach the keeper ?" and yes they did. But I did not even look at it and so I 'm unable to tell you the price that was offered. I don't know about the replay. Can be done but difficult. Football has changed. If we were in the sixties and if we were 2-1 behind as we are now, people would say to the French "come on guys, forget it". But sometimes it works (Napoli and PSG again). Hazard in my opinion was not useless and certainly a better option than Oscar, but maybe he was tired - maybe he even signalled to Bruce, I don't know.

W.r. transfer matters, you belong to the club of optimists when you say they plan for next season.
-
It's the third year in succession we play them. Granted we are having the poorest ever season at home, the two previous Paris matches were no different. We absorbed huge pressure - on the first occasion we lost 3-1 as well in the end. I like some of their players and Ibra but the fact is these two teams are level pegging.
-
They are not a better team. They are not in the class of entertainers like e.g. goonerteam or City but definitely not better than us. Those who are better are BFC, RM, Atletico maybe. Bayern I have n't seen this year.
-
Unless Hazard was tired he should n't have been replaced.
-
Can be turned round but PSG are good at away matches too. Oscar could have made the 1-2, instead it was Cavani who scored. Cavani is the look alike like mr. Psinakis, the funny mayor of Marathon. I expect we can do it - we knocked them out when they had 3-1 advantage, with Demba Ba. This is the real Chelsea. The team you saw against Swansea-Watford-Brighton etc is a ghost. This team is not quite there, but we were good enough to hold the runaway champions of France.

The ides of March. Our cousins from France again. I don't think they are unbeatable, but having seen Barcelona yesterday, the Cruyff penalty, Neymar, biteman, nobody has a chance to land a blow.
-
That's the knee, not the shin. Difficult injury.
-
It looked awful the way he landed.

Chelsea 1 - Man. United + Michael Oliver 1 With 93% possession we could n't turn it around. I knew it was going to be CFC versus De Gea in the end. But Diego is doing a lot better now, in the post Mourinho era. One thing he should do is stop trying to take on all the opponents by himself, because he does that rather a lot. He is not even nibbly like Hazard - Willian who can dummy two or three men sometimes.
-
I expect MU will return home egg faced tomorrow. Is it Mourinho's first btw ?
-
Their keeper made some fantastic saves in the last 20 minutes. But there is no penetration, no final pass. Just like under Mou, minus the desperation of those days that lead our defenders give away some goals too. In the days of Didier-Michael-Lamps you just knew if the opponent's first defense fell it was an 80% goal situation. On countless occasions we see indecisiveness, endless passes. In the end some little pressure is applied somewhere during the endless tirade of small passes and we have to send the ball back to Courtois or Begovitch.

The new metacommunist economic system is the product of an unholy matrimony between marxism and Mussolini's fascism. Only big corporations and nothing else. This differs from the stalinist model in which all the landowners / factory owners are arrested and executed. But in what regards the jew-hunting against private enterprise it is exactly the same. When Stalin conquered the Baltics in 1939 he proceeded to rob the 90 year old grannies from the few coins they had from social security and left them with nothing. It's the same now with the elitist metacommunist system. The right wing rejoice but the left wing also rejoice (mainly the idle do-nothing layabout state employees). It resembles the Hitler regime, which was a populist cult really with some quasi-socialist ideas but with capitalists at the head of affairs (Krupp-Opel etc). But in Hitler's time it was not practical to have a capitalist system and at the same time turn against the small to medium sized businesses (unless they were Jewish of course ...). So we don't know what Hitler might have said about his great grand children. Possibly pat them in the back. We talk about millions and millions of new unemployed as a result of the abolition of the "small shop in the corner". This of course spells war and rebellion ultimately, but the metacommunists are not even thinking about taking a step back.

Great leader. He will be sadly missed, like Didier. But one hopes they know what they are doing and have an adequate replacement.
-
Also Courtois made two dropsies. Unacceptable.

Arsenal are clowns. We were n't going to lose even if the despaired Mourinho was still manager. Remy was a goat let lose on the pitch today - missed three clear chances. In the league Arsenal are out, Leicester are a small time affair, so it's Citeh. I wish Spurs could do it since they have n't won a league from the days of Greaves-Blanchflower.

I 'm waiting for some announcement, yellow letters. Reminds me of Greek January transfer window of the year 1984. Jugoslav international Surijak was the hot property then. He did n't come. An excuse was made up that he reached the frontier late at night but had forgotten his passport.

Why can't we have boxing now ? There is no lack of space. Back in the sixties we used to have wrestling in Athens football ground. The house across the road belonged to a retired admiral and we used to go there and watch from the balcony. It was Arion versus the monster. My mom said she thought Arion was a Greek-Egyptian a third cousin of ours.

Do we really need new stadium ? The present one dates from 1976, but it's better now than it was in 1976. The biggest sports arena in Europe they were saying back then. Stadiums get old. I 've been to the old Amsterdam Olympic stadium. That was the stadium in which the Olympic games were staged once upon a time. It looked like the stadium of a fourth division - Isthmian league team. Now of course they have a new one. But I don't get it why the bridge is considered old. The way you describe things we are in for a huge drop in class.
