1. We can easily sign El Shaarawy but he's a winger and we don't need him. Benteke is a good all round footballer, he can keep the ball, link up with other players, but he isn't great. Would be a good second choice striker but we need a world class one like you can find in every other big club.
Bentenke could be world class, the only reason he isn't is cause he plays with fucking Aston Villa! And Shaaraway can play CF, that's what he played before Balotelli got there. I'd be good with them or Costa.
2. How about Bentenke? Balotelli would be great if he wasn't a dickhead. Costa is the best available right now. Shaaraway? Lol he's a beast and young, just wishful thinking and highly unlikely.
3. Its the media for you, it's genuinely amazing that some can't differentiate the difference between parking the bus and playing a tactful percentage game. There's nothing tactful about sitting behind the ball and being content with a draw from the jump. The point of a game is to win.
4. I was thinking that too. Man City plays with 2 strikers always though, Chelsea doesn't. But 4 top notch strikers on one team is greedy! Fuck it, Chelsea SHOULD get both! That'd be insane!
5. No parking the bus. Chelsea will try to win, I think. Cech, Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Cole, Matic, Luiz, Willian, Oscar, Hazard, Ba. Should be the line up, Lampard would work instead of Luiz, possibly. Schürrle could get the start possibly. Man City is gonna find it incredibly hard to run us out of the Ethiad like they did Tottenham, Arsenal, Man U, etc. We're more well rounded, have the better defense. Man City's defense is shit and Hazard/Oscar will slice them up. Chelsea win 2-1.
6. What's MDP? Amazing scouting report, read it all and am glad I did. I'm a sports nut so I love reading about strategies and tactics like this. Kudos, sir.
7. I agree with some of what you're saying. He shouldn't be giving anyone an ultimatum, because when it's comes down to it he is a Chelsea FC employee. Then again, Athletico Madrid is an elite club as well, they're in the final 16 of UEFA, 1st in La Liga, and won the Euro Cup/Copa Del Rey last year. Cortouis been there for all of that. If he comes to Chelsea, Cech needs to go, or accept playing only in FA Cup/Capital One Cup games. It's hard to get a top notch keeper and one so young is almost unheard of. I love Cech and understand he's still ome of the top 5 best GK's in the world, but Cortouis is younger and comparable but not near his prime. It's a tough decision but plenty if teams would pay giid money for Cech. I'm glad I'm not Mourinho.
8. Hardly pushing 30 is it?Forwards, more so than any other position, peak sooner and decline sooner. With the exception of a few stars they just do. That's why Lukaku would be a better choice.
9. Mourinho isn't exactly famed for promoting youth... If anything Rafa (even as interim manager) did more for the youth here, gave Ake some games (tried Piazon in a league game v Villa and RDM played Piazon in the C1 Cup). Wilshere is only a couple of years elder than McEachran....... (hard to imagine) I don't see how promoting youth sacrifices trophies, even a major club full of superstars like Real Madrid plays some of its younger players (Jese, Casmeiro, Morata etc does Illaramendi count?). Barcelona manage to give younger players chances in their 1st team every now and then (they started Cuenca in a semi-final against us). Bayern also have a successful youth academy (Muller, Schweinsteiger, Lahm). Borussia Dortmund have always encouraged their younger players. Arsenal played young Miyachi against us have tried to integrate Serge Gnabry into the side (and have a reputation for always encouraging youth). So how does bringing youth players make you weaker? That's cause Germany and Spain have more talent than England.
10. Cavani is 26. He'll be 27 this month.
11. Neymar is their best player and wears number 10 but isn't their NUMBER 10. Oscar facilitates and creates, Neymar is ALL attack oriented and plays as a winger. Number 10 isn't for the best player, Ronaldo doesn't wear 10.
12. So your point is that academies are useless? Even if you have the cash to buy X player, fans love to see a homegrown youngster break into the first team. It's a completely different feeling as a fan, when you see a 19 or 20 year old take his first steps with the main XI, as you know deep down that this kid was produced by your academy As for your example about Fabregas and Pique....from what I recall, it was Fabregas' choice to join Arsenal (even though Barca wanted to keep him) and Pique chose Manchester United when he was 16...because Barca could not offer him a professional contract at that age. They're not useless, but top teams don't put as effort much into their academies because they can buy players. Also, why have a homegrown talent if he's not world class talent and could possibly hinder the success of your team? It's nice, but inly if it's a great player like Terry.
13. I've never even attempted to be rude on here, but do you even know what you're talking about? One of Hazard's greatest attributes is his ability to hold the ball. His other being exactly what you're trying to claim as a weakness; ability to hold the ball under a tackle, or physical pressure. Hazard is one of the rare categories of footballers along with the Messi's, Maradona's, Rooney's, etc, in which it is damn near impossible to get the ball off him when he is dribbling in field/sideways. Simply due to his short and bulldog like nature on the field. He gets his feet set hard in the ground, and gives him tremendous ability to either push off or protect the ball brilliantly with his low center of gravity. Hazard is extremely strong on the ball, simply due to his build, and because he knows how to use it, much like Messi. Impossible to get the ball off of at times. Yea, idk what that dude is talking about. Hazard is similar to Messi in several ways, including dribbling with the ball and difficult to dispossess. Thor doesn't know what he's talking about.
14. As much as it would be fancy to have Reus, we need target man ala Cavani or Costa in attack. We looked bad vs West Ham and someone like Cavani (and good crosses to him) would do the difference. Reus isnt typical striker and I doubt he would make impact. Yea, I know. He's my favorite non-Chelsea player so I'd love to see it. I prefer them to get Costa would be good. Not Cavani or Falcao. They're gonna be pushing 30 soon. I'd love for them to get Aleksandr Kokorin from Dynamo. He's Russian. Look him up dude is good.
15. Ake, Piazon, Traore, and Hazard. Those are the youngsters we should keep.
16. Get Reus! 35-40 mil? Put him up front, he can play there. It should be done.
17. Cech- Ivanovic-Cahill-Terry-Cole. Matic-Lampard. Willian-Oscar-Hazard. Ba.
I wish Agüero was playing, he's so exciting.
18. Lmao, as if they're any better than Barca or Bayern who have never thumped us. I predict 5-0 for us.Yea, they destroy every team when it doesnt matter. Chelsea is the most well rounded team in the BPL, great defense, attacking players who create for themselves and others, and CDM's. This is a huge game, Man City will choke like they always do. 3-2 Chelsea.
19. Forgot about Lampard. He's pretty consistent with delivery He's the only. I always get mad when i see Luiz get a shot, he ALWAYS hits the wall.
20. James Rodriguez is my favorite attacling player, besides Hazard, under 23.
21. i don't know. other than Mata all other setpiece takers are piss poor. need to work on delivery as there are 3 good headers of the ball in the XI Oscar and Lampard are both good at set pieces. Both are rightys though. Luiz?
22. What has this thread turned into? JayC, leave if you want, motherfucker. No one cares if you're here or not. Just don't turn this into a damn soap opera thread. If you're a ManU fan go talk to other ManU fans. And don't get mad when Chelsea fans call you on your bullshit, you're trying to tell us a players strengths and weaknesses after he just played with our favorite team for 2 1/2 years. Fuck.
23. @Yeboii Whoa... I'm a Chelsea fan? Lol
24. Matic, Zouma, and Salah. Now if we can get Shaw this will be an amazing transfer window.
