  1. Neto is a great signing (slightly on the expensive side, tbh), but it leaves us with more wide options than needed & doesn't solve our goal scoring issues either. Sterling should be one of the names shipped off to make space. I can't help but feel the board is purposely ignoring the real issues within this squad (reliable CB & CF).
  2. Watching his performance against Egypt a number of days ago, he was invisible (the entire squad except one are either playing in the domestic league or Gulf). I understand judging players in isolation isn't ideal, as it could have been an "off day." By the same token, he did nothing in a game he should have really dominated, and there's a reason he's rarely featured for Spain in their run to the final. £35m is certainly better than the rumoured fees a few weeks ago. However, if you look at it this way - Gallagher in exchange for him. Is that good business? Right now, I know who I'd rather have.
  3. Him & Badi should have been long gone, tbh. Chalobah being HG works in our favour. In an ideal world, all three are sold with a notable replacement coming in. Time is ticking.
  4. I have a hunch Conte will keep pushing for this, and it will finally happen, but someone else will step in for Osimhen. No clue why something so simple (from the outside) is being dragged out.
  5. He came through our academy. You should realise by now that isn't something to our board's liking. In all honesty, we currently have six CB's in our squad. I don't see anything happening (we obviously need a good starting point CB) unless one or more are sold.
  6. That's all Sky Sports were saying when Lukaku joined, especially after our early season win at The Emirates. Saying that, I do feel Osimhen would solve that one issue we've had season after season for far too long.
  7. DDF is seemingly being sold this window as well. It seems far too soon to be doing that, but it's quite clear the board don't have much of a long term goal in place aside from making profit.
  8. Aside from that season when he was seemingly the only attacker that turned up, I felt the same way. An incredible frustrating player. Pedro still doing his thing in Serie A. He just has that eye for goal,
  9. I agree. Lavia seems a perfect fit for what Enzo is after. We were aiming for titles back then. Different times, different expectations.
  10. His all around play is generally sloppy, which is holding him back. He is the only "old school" winger we have that can actually take on his man & at times, deliver something.
  11. He's anything but a squad player the way our team is looking.
  12. Madueke has stepped up during preseason. He seems like our most dangerous attacker (on tour).
  13. Our highest paid player. Can someone, anyone, take him off our hands?
  14. I feel like that's his only chance of having a successful career here (similar to Kalou). There would be less pressure on him to take each chance that falls to him, & his movement could seriously help whoever leads the line.
  15. I believed young signings had a "separate budget." Sometimes it's difficult to keep track of what's going on. Talk of Osimhen AND Samu. You just know it's setting us up for a fall & we'll just end up with the latter.
  16. I thought that might be the case. Only thing currently holding us back is the board's stubbornness.
  17. If the board has no desire to budge at any point, we will be a feeder club (if we aren't classed as one already), as I've alluded to in a number of previous posts. Would selling Lukaku & Conor (seemingly most likely rn) not be enough to put us in the green? If not, it really goes to show how the Caicedo & Enzo deals are more than likely going to hold us back in more ways than one.
  18. There's no chance of that happening with the number of CB's currently on our books. If two leave (Trev, Badi/Diasi), things might be different. Do we have some unknown constraints or just the board unwilling to budge?
  19. It seems unlikely despite everything seemingly being perfect for both parties. Age, wage, or whatever other excuse the board decides to.
  20. The club held back on going in all for Endrick despite having him visit the club. If they don't do the same now, it will be another masterstroke from them. His sole start at the Olympics was dire, btw.
  21. Preseason or not, this performance has been a shambles thus far. No intensity at all to win the ball back, & the lack of urgency is extremely worrying.
  22. What's happening tonight, then? Who are these "new players", as KDH and Tosin only come to mind. It's effectively the same core trying to play a style they aren't cut out for with a false nine. Early signs aren't encouraging at all. He's adjusting to the system.
  23. City have played three games so far & lost all three. Caicedo & Tosin showing glimpses why our team aren't suited to this style of football in the slightest.
