  1. Can someone be deemed "proven in the PL" after one season? If Cucurella doesn't start the majority of our games this season, someone like Hickey would have been far cheaper option and four years younger.
  2. The conversion rate should have no bearing when we're discussing English clubs. Either way, it's a bit rich, IMO. Paying that much for someone that isn't of the level of Hakimi (he cost just under £60m twelve months ago) or such isn't great business. Hope he turns out to be a good investment, though. We essentially paid more to keep Colwill. Let's hope he has some season.
  3. Mendy cost £51.75m, so there's only a slight difference.
  4. You mean, get away with corruption? I don't think we should.
  5. Out of all the potential outgoings, I'm most pleased to see him remain. A Milner type role would be perfect.
  6. It surely can't be, as that was the price they seemingly quoted City & they won't budge.
  7. We want the best deal for ourselves at the end of the day. Both deals are supposedly separate, so the ball should be in our court. If they were to lower the price as a result, that would be a different story.
  8. Every player has their price. Also, this sort of thing might drive them out - https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11076351/Napoli-President-not-sign-African-players-unless-agree-not-play-AFCON.html
  9. That's what happens when a team sets a bad precedent. Maguire going for stupid money comes to mind.
  10. Fair price point - Danjuma. All in & best CF that's obtainable - Your fellow countryman, Osimhen. Two names I've been mentioning for a number of months, or years in the case of the latter.
  11. We're spending big everywhere but where it truly matters. If Werner leaves, we need to sign a CF or WF/CF of note. Taking garbage off Barca is the last thing we should be doing.
  12. Colwill to join the buy-back club in the EPL. That's what I'm hoping anyway.
  13. Depay is a similar type of player that we have been linked to. Players that think they're better than the rest should even be considered. Lukaku was one mistake too many in that regard.
  14. One thing you can't blame Boehly for is his eagerness to make signings.
  15. Shop overseas. This EPL inflation is a joke and we shouldn't have any part in it.
  16. I feel like the closer it gets to the window closing, the more likely we'll end up signing Ronaldo as the sole attacking reinforcement.
  17. His old version - score & miss a boat load of chances. Sell him to the highest bidder and be done with it.
  18. I guess you're all in for Fofana then? He's a former La Masia prospect, so if they do, this should be the least surprising.
  19. If they are seriously interested, we have to use him as a makeweight for Gvardiol. Seems like the most logical thing.
  20. And we're stuck with Alonso for another season..
  21. I'm all for letting attackers go, but I'm still yet to see any concrete information about replacements for them. We can't let CHO, Werner & Ziyech go without anyone coming in. It's crazy to see he's earning that much to begin with. I'm sure his base wage will be similar to Sterling's with performance bonuses to make him our highest earner were he to join.
  22. If we're really that desperate, signing Ronaldo should be a no-brainer.
  23. It's kind of alarming how few have managed to hit the ground running. Dzeko is the only name that comes to mind from the get go, whilst Son has found his feet after a few seasons under his belt.
  24. As I clearly stated, two of the three forwards were "prolific" before joining us & Morata had decent numbers too. Whether they flopped or not has nothing to do with us not signing players. United have been without an actual top-quality CF for years, and using one of the best players of this generation to justify them striking gold is hilarious. To add to that, CR7 has all but left, so who's their quality CF you alluded to, Martial? With regards to Arsenal, Aubameyang's goal return over the last two seasons was 14 in 43 league games. He started off well, but went downhill & Arsenal only had Lacazette to rely on. Now, going back to your original post, who's the quality CF in their ranks now, Jesus, whose goal return is 17 in 57 EPL games? I don't think I need to say anything to debunk your "Big 6" statement. Conte got rid of the gold we found. The lack of decent scouts is why we've failed to sign another Drogba, Costa or even an Anelka. If we sign a CF that is stylistically a good fit for how we play, chances are he'll thrive.
