  1. He reminds me a lot of Berbatov. Although not as lazy, he lacks coolness and precision in front of the goal. I guess time will tell whether that is something he can address as he gets closer to his prime.
  2. Unfortunately, I don't think Havertz will ever be consistent here. I can see him following a similar route to Sane.
  3. I don't know what's more surprising - Ajax actually rejecting such an offer or Utd making a bid of that amount.
  4. I think it's a given that someone that can play at RWB will join.
  5. Precisely. The same goes for Fofana after Utd paid a ludicrous amount for Maguire. As long as teams are willing to overpay, things will only get worse in this country.
  6. And people wonder what's wrong with the EPL.
  7. Too little, too late - https://www.tribalfootball.com/articles/mike-dean-dumped-from-var-after-Chelsea-draw-with-tottenham-controversy-4425903 I was honestly lost for words when I heard he was still part of the officiating team despite "retiring".
  8. I'm in agreement. I was as surprised as anyone by the sudden news (to me at least) about Trev potentially leaving should we sign Fofana. If those events were to transpire, it would be down to Tuchel's belief that makeshifts will work along with the odd RLC cameo in that position, something I'm not a fan of at all.
  9. I remember reading that we'd let two out of the three leave whilst bringing someone in, so we'd only be lighter by one (or even considering Sterling joined). Talk of Trev leaving has only arisen recently & is dependant on Fofana joining. It seems like Tuchel/the board have plans in place depending on what happens over the next two weeks.
  10. I don't think we're in a position to be picky. We have far too many players that are surplus to requirements, so if Newcastle want Pulisic on loan, we should facilitate it whilst getting someone that will improve us.
  11. I'm not exactly sold on the idea myself; it's more of a last resort. We just can't go into a full season with only Broja & Havertz to lead the line.
  12. We wouldn't need to worry about productivity with the former. Just look at what he did with a dire side last season. For reasons that can't be explained.
  13. I'm with you on the Alonso front, but there surely has to be another way. Take FDJ off their hands, if they're so desperate to sign the former. Danjuma would tick a number of those boxes tbh. A quick fix - Muriel or Ronaldo (if it's for no longer than a year). Long term options - Danjuma or the last remaining quality CF that's obtainable, Osimhen.
  14. That's just his fee. Add the cost of his wage (£200k~) on probably a three-year contract and you tell me if that makes sense financially. We need to stop throwing money down the drain.
  15. Are United just shopping around in the red half of Madrid? From Morata to Cunha and now to Felix.
  16. Sign a 33-year old for £25m who cost nothing a matter of months ago? This shouldn't even be a discussion.
  17. We have to tie him down to a new contract before we get too comfortable. I'd be surprised if we didn't move for Livramento, if he manages to return from his lengthy layoff and performs at a similar level.
  18. His European experience is solely EL. I think he's a level or two below ours. However, I'm surprised no one has moved for him despite his age.
  19. Their recruit always seems to be on point.
  20. As are the majority of the attackers we have here already. I'd happily take ASM for a fair price or even a swap of Pulisic, if their interest in him is genuine, as he'd offer something few players can whilst being young enough to still have room for improvement.
  21. Him and Eze are having a field day. It seems like such an odd decision by Klopp to start Phillips ahead of Gomez.
  22. COVID hit them hard & their poor form last season added to that. The days of making notable losses each window are behind them. I'm in total agreement; the idea of going for young talent is one I'm a fan of, but not overspending on average talent (£40m is far too much as it is).
  23. They have had financial issues for a number of seasons, so to say they don't need the money couldn't be further from the truth. A sizeable fee would probably reluctantly force their hand. I just hope it isn't us that are stupid enough to do it.
  24. That's the issue, though. If that isn't deemed violent conduct, we might as well wrap things up.
