  1. I watched a large number of his games for Milan last season and his main/key attributes is, his directness/crazy pace. He is always trying to take on his man whilst being very unselfish more often than not. There isn't anything that I would pinpoint and say is exceptional right now but overall, he has a lot to his game that if he continues to improve, could see him become one of the elite. Also, I'd rather not mention the fact he was voted Serie A's POTY after the performance of the previous year's winner. I'm still of the thinking that, unless a player, especially a younger player, has a record-breaking season, you shouldn't get crazy until you see how they fair in the following season (Nkunku is one that comes to mind). However, it's generally too late to go for such players by then, as we can't go toe to toe with the biggest clubs for a host of reasons, so we either strike while the iron is hot & take a calculated risk or kiss goodbye to the prospect of developing a talent into someone WC. First I've heard of that link. I've only seen glimpses of him, so I couldn't pass judgement either way.
  2. He joined for £23.40m over 7 years ago. You do the maths on how much that would work out now. Going round in a circle isn't the answer either. We've already laid down a damaging precedent, which will only get worse should Auba and Fofana join. Gordon will just be the tip of the iceberg.
  3. I'm failing to understand your point. If your point is about signing young unproven players, just look at our transfer history (Baba Rahman is STILL on our books). If your real issue is actually regarding the fee, overpaying of Cucu and Fofana will do enough damage in that regard.
  4. You were talking about precedents and as I mentioned, that ship has sailed.
  5. As I mentioned, he was out for how many months? It's a massive gamble IMO. Also, we overpaid by some margin for Cucurella as well.
  6. Proven? The guy was injured for how many months? He's only played 37 league games in two seasons. I'd say he's a long way from it.
  7. A record fee for a defender (Fofana) will do that.
  8. Leao is the only recent target that brings some sort of excitement & could help take us to another level should he continue to improve. The less I say about the rest, the better.
  9. There's plenty to back it up, actually. This is something I've mentioned on multiple occasions and don't have the urge to repeat the same things. I'll just say this - Tuchel (in your opinion of how things work) went for Haaland from the get go, but the club was ultimately priced out of any potential transfer; he then decided to go left field & went for someone with a less than stellar past in the EPL. Please answer that conundrum so I have a clearer picture of the ins and outs.
  10. I think it's quite clear that Lukaku was bought due to the desire of others,
  11. Erm - Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's Disciplinary Issues Emerge Following His Dortmund Suspension | 90min He's had issues for quite some time.
  12. He's either good enough to be called upon or not. We shouldn't have players the coach can't or doesn't trust. I believe our failures are due to personnel issues more than anything else; Kante was fit last week, and look how well we played. There's still a massive drop off from starters to our bench, which needs to be addressed, which will take a lengthy period of time, unfortunately.
  13. It's something I've been calling out for some time. Tuchel has a number of good qualities, but his insistence on playing people out of position isn't one of them. I have no idea why Chalobah has yet to start a game this season whilst RJ is being wasted away in the former's main role.
  14. In our current system, almost nothing. He will only be of use alongside another CF or AMF. If Tuchel is going to remain stubborn, we ought to sell him next summer.
  15. The difference between our wingers/attackers & ASM. Two assists to his name against the champs (so much for no end product).
  16. This isn't a one-off, though. I can guarantee you we'll be having the same discussion a handful of times before June. He ought to be dropped for Leicester. If he's that bad, why is he still at the club to begin with? We could easily cover his wages & ship him out otherwise.
  17. He's had two massive chances over the past two weeks & missed both. However, this shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that has watched him during his career.
  18. On the counter and Havertz only has Sterling in support. Unbelievable
  19. When you have RLC at RWB against Leeds, you shouldn't expect much to begin with.
  20. It certainly is when you can't take your chances as well. Sterling should have scored within the first minute, a similar situation to last week. If we don't sign a proven CF, we're going to have many more afternoons like this.
  21. I don't have any faith of us coming back now. No real options & we've been second best all match.
  22. That's a part of Mendy's game that will never improve. Players can't handle the pressure now.
  23. James at RCB against Tottenham is one thing, but against Leeds... It's such a waste. Injured
  24. Please say we're going to dodge another bullet.
