  1. Cahill would be there or there abouts but I think a long term solution is probably better. Either one of Azpi, Matic, Zouma or Courtois should probably be made VC for this year, then captain next year. With Cahill as an experienced VC from next year to help them out.
  2. I think I heard them say he had 41 touches of the ball in both games though. That's not exactly ideal.
  3. Falcao has ruptured his cruciate. Loads of players (Shearer, Gazza, Owen, Torres) have had serious knee injuries and never been as good as they were. He would be a MASSIVE risk. Bigger than all the other strikers combined.
  4. You asked how many games TOPTB has watched this season with Costa in and said you'd watched 5 and he was shit in all 5, suggesting he'd been shit this season. I'm not going to rise to your pathetic insults and childish swearing either, so you might as well stop before you get a ban.
  5. 35 goals in 43 starts this season. But yeah, he's obviously been shit this season from your 5 game sample size.
  6. So in your opinion everyone but Man Utd have underachieved in the PL era then? Because Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool and Arsenal have spent a fair bit and haven't won anywhere near as much. Since our cash injection in 2004 we have won 3 titles, Man United have won 5 and Man City have won 2. I'm happy with a title every 3 years tbh. Also, we haven't focused only on the PL in the last 10 years, we have won 10 other trophies. So we've been competing on many fronts every year. Also, as much as you want that moral high ground over the league strength debate, i'm afraid it's just a fact. None of the other top league in Europe offer the competitiveness of the Premier League. Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs, Man Utd, Man City and even Everton are all better than the 3rd/4th best teams in most other divisions. How many of those would Schalke, Monaco, Lyon, Bayer Leverkusen, Marsielle, Inter, Sporting Lisbon, Napoli, Valencia, Sevilla or AC Milan beat? It isn't belitting other leagues to say they're not as competitive, it's just stating the fact that they aren't. It's not fault of the clubs in most cases, but the organisations running the leagues. For instance that horrific stat that 80-90% of the TV money for La Liga goes straight to the 2 big clubs, how are any other clubs meant to do anything? Just shows how good Atletico's achievement was this year.
  7. Whether he's competing with Cech or replacing him, frankly I don't care. I just want him here. Top top top top goalkeeper and still so young!! Very happy with this news.
  8. Diego Costa: 2011/2012: 16 games, involved (scored or direct assist) in 14 goals. 2012/2013: 36 games, involved in 20 goals. 2013/2014: 44 games, involved in 39 goals. Please shut up about him being a 1 season wonder. It's just not true. AND he was playing on the wing thanks to Falcao up until this season.
  9. Most of Man Utd: Welbeck, Smalling, Rooney, Januzaj, RVP, Nani, Kagawa, Ferdinand & Rafael. Especially Welbeck and Rooney.
  10. MVG, McEachren, Chalobah, Romeu, Swift, Baker & RLC. So I guess that's only 10....
  11. Have faith!! Although tbh it's likely we'll at least announce Costa today, then maybe leave the others til after the WC. But as long as the deals are done and noone can come in and gazump us.
  12. Every time I come onto TC and see 80-90 people viewing this thread it feels me with hope that there might have been a big announcement. Alas I'm often becoming disappointed .
  13. Playing the racism card as a final desperate attempt to cling on to power. Hoping that it means the media and lawyers will back off and not investigate closely because we all know if they do they will find a web of lies, bribery and corruption which has been laced throughout FIFA in recent memory. Pathetic really (and devaluing true racism which is of course horrific) but i've come to expect no better from that detestable human being.
  14. Ramsey is a good player. I like him. But to even put him in the same bracket as a world class player like Fabregas is mind boggling. Like comparing Sterling to Neymar just because Sterling has had 1 decent year. Form is temporary, class is permanent and all that.
  15. General consensus in the Arsenal forums is that they don't want Fabregas, they've already got the "technically superior" Aaron Ramsey.
  16. That's what I was trying to say. I said it badly though, it's late. I'm going to bed xD.
  17. Shaw and Fabregas would go towards filling our quota if we signed them. Along with Zouma, Cahill and Terry as some others have mentioned. If we get a HG 2nd choice GK for next season (assuming either Cech will be sold to facilitate Courtios or Courtios will be loaned again/sold) that'll be our 6th, then hopefully Lukaku can be our 2nd choice striker and then we only need 1 more to fill the quota. Maybe have Kakuta or Moses as a HG squad player. They're both pretty useless anyway so it's not like you'd be hindering the development of a player with top potential.
  18. To my knowledge I think the fact that Zouma is U21 means he doesn't have to be registered. Therefore we can leave a space in the selection which counts as 1 towards our HG quota. So essentially Zouma will count as HG player for next season.
  19. Maybe. They did get a few of those wrong, but they're often right. They do get info before the rest of us after all. they had Lambert to join Liverpool as something like 1/5 about 5 hours before any news of a bid for him from Liverpool came in.
  20. Bookies have him as 2/9 to leave Barca this summer and us as 11/10 favourites to sign him. Bookies very rarely get it wrong, they don't like losing money. Starting to get a little bit excited now. Whether you like him or not, whether you agree with the transfer or not, it's always exciting when you feel like you're getting close to signing a world class player.
  21. For everyone saying Fabregas won't sign for us due to bad blood with the club or Jose... "I'd rather sell groundnuts in my village than play for a pathetic team like Chelsea" - Samuel Eto'o in 2005. Money, time and a chance at success are excellent at changing opinions and minds. So... yeah.
  22. No it won't be a transition year. Title has to be expected. No excuses. Can't see how anyone can think differently tbh.
  23. You've got a personal agenda with logic.
