  1. Spurs Liverpool QPR QPR and Spurs cos the fans are cunts. Simple as that. Liverpool cos they act like everyone owes them something. And the bullshit surrounding Hillsborough/Heysel doesn't help.
  2. Would prefer Varane, but he might not be available. But if we sign a back up striker (Remy, Hernandez etc.) and still have cash left over then i'd say sign a CB. JT and Ivan are probably off next year so we would then have Benatia, Cahill, Zouma and then 1 of Omeruo, Kalas and Christensen. Personally i'd prefer that last spot to go to Kalas. A great long term signing and a good short term signing. But is he worth £30M? And we NEED a new striker as back up, and we need it now. That should be our primary focus.
  3. Every signing is a risk. If you buy from outside the PL then you'll never be sure that they'll deal with the different style. Someone could sign and break their leg the next day and have their career over. You could sign someone and they suddenly become useless (not looking at anyone in specific here Fernando...). Every signing has many elements of risk, the trick is balancing them and deciding which ones are worth it. Remy having this heart problem that hasn't ever troubled him before and suddenly flared up when Liverpool had him and 2/3 other strikers about to sign.
  4. I'll fucking piggy back him to the Bridge if that's what it takes.
  5. Main positive from this is that Besiktas looked pretty good and they're the team that Arsenal have to play in the Champions League, surely? .
  6. It's alright, Andre won't be able to hear their contract offer all the GOLD AROUND HIS GODDAMN NECK
  7. I'm confident about the top 4 being as I predicted. Man City may beat us to 1st but I have faith. Utd with LVG at the helm are going to be much stronger and Arsenal will have their customary 4th place. Liverpool are too weak at the back and teams will now start to rate them higher and play deep against them which will hurt, along with their having to play in midweek now again, and the loss of their best player without any semblance of a replacement.
  8. 1 - Chelsea 2 - Man City 3 - Man Utd 4 - Arsenal 5 - Spurs 6 - Liverpool 7 - Everton 8 - Newcastle 9 - Aston Villa 10 - Crystal Palace If by some miracle I get that right come the end of the season i'll return to this thread and quote it .
  9. Excellent news. Looking forward to seeing Andre welcomed back as a world cup winner
  10. I've personally always rated Hernandez very highly. Very good player and happy to sit on the bench. There's also rumours of LVG not wanting him and wanting to offload him. I agree with the Benteke assessment though, he'd offer a nice alternative to Costa.
  11. Hernandez? Remy? Jay Rodriguez? Benteke? What would be our best bet do you reckon?
  12. I like Schurrle but i'm not keen on him playing striker for us if we're going for the title. He's very good but not quite that good. Both Costa and Cavani can and have played on the wings before so if we just rotated who played striker around between games or even during the game it would keep them both happy and be a fucking nightmare to try and mark for the defenders. And that's if neither of them gets injured. We'll play around 70 games or so this season I reckon, 35 games would be enough for both of them to be happy I reckon.
  13. We could keep 2 strikers happy throughout the course of a season with rotation and that's all we'd need. Drogba hasn't come back to play tons of games and he knows he's a bit part player. And Torres can frankly fuck himself. What is the worst thing he could do? Start missing sitters for us and request to be transfer listed?
  14. The most annoying thing about this all is that a top quality back up striker is the final piece to the puzzle in my opinion. If we get that then I truly believe we'll win the league, a cup and maybe the CL. Sounds over positive I know but say we signed Cavani, we would then have 7 world class players in Costa, Cavani, Courtois, Cech, Fabregas, JT and Hazard. That's world class down the spine of our team (GK-CB-CM-ST) as well as Hazard (and we know how good he can be) along with world class back-up for arguably the 2 most important positions on the pitch - GK and ST. Couple that with having very good players elsewhere around the pitch and on the bench and a few promising young squad players and I don't see how we can go wrong... Everything is almost perfect, we just need 1 more striker and we'll be ready.
  15. Man City have Aguero, Dzeko, Jovetic and Negredo. All world class strikers, we should be able to have at least 2 world class strikers in our team so I don't think it's naive. Bony would be great though I agree.
  16. Back on topic, are all the lads back in training now? Especially the Brazilians and Schurrle? Even if they are, what are the chances of us seeing them in this game? I don't think I can take seeing Torres on our wing/pitch/planet again.
  17. It's Agony Aunt day and a half on the TC forums, did no-one tell you? .
  18. He was rumoured to have a buy back clause of £5.5M but I think they expire after time rather than when a new contract is signed? Maybe I'm wrong though, in which case, good business.
  19. It's good you're not over-reacting to this or anything... I suppose he'll also then go on to go back in time and kill the baby jesus before coming back to knock ice creams out of orphans hands when his contract is up with City.
  20. Bang on. But when you need your job and the money it's a hard game to play with your livelihood on the line! And yeah, i've had a few bosses like that, but most are, and i'm glad I got the experience I did when I was young .
  21. I'm thinking he'll come back next season to compete with Matic for the CDM place in our team when Mikel gets sold. I've always rated him and hope he has a good showing at Stuttgart to prove that he is ready for us from next season.
  22. In an ideal world that would be a good attitude to have. But unfortunately there are too many people who are either egomaniacs for no reason and will boss you around or people who have worked for where they are and know that they know better than you and will take it as a slight that you don't listen to them. Either way, this attitude will get you sacked/held down and no-one wants that. While it's good that you have your own ideas, you won't have a happy work life if you hold onto that attitude, as even if you're self employed you'll still have to do things for other people, who will demand you do things in certain ways. And if you tell them you're not going to listen to what they say if they tell you to do something you'll just lose business. And that's not even going into the problems you'll have in relationships if you can't learn to do as you're told, women are even worse with that than bosses.... There are too many arseholes in the world. Trust me, I know. But it's just one of those things you have to suck up and deal with. And I mean this all in the friendliest way, don't take any of it as an insult, yeah?
  23. Ok, well this all makes sense now then. We're sorted for the season as Jose says!
  24. Yeah but we also need to register 3 GKs to meet those rules. So Beeney/Blackman would have to be our 3rd keeper and so would have to also be injured before Mark could come in. And preparing for 3 GKs being injured at once is ridiculously pessimistic and paranoid!!
