Shearer was a monster in every sense, didn't see much of Lineker. Truth be told, the late 80's and 90's generation of English players absolutely shits all over this current one.

Quite odd because their 5-0 spanking against Real Madrid comes in mind, possibly the best team performance I've ever seen. And tbf, the first half Barca did play some brilliant one touch football and only themselves to blame for not finishing their chances.
Can't forget this performance he displayed against a Legendary Milan side that were reigning European champions. First English team to beat Milan at the San Siro as well.
But you know, Cesc doesn't perform against quality sides...
He's played well against Madrid, United, Liverpool, Barcelona, and AC Milan (when they were a quality side), so there is more than enough evidence to suggest that he can perform Against top sides. He's been doing so since the age of 18.
Quite a ridiculous argument. Cesc Fabregas was already a top established full blown international footballer at the age of 19 in a time where England was the dominate league then becoming the best central midfielder in England at 23 where he became a versatile variable at the holding role, attacking midfielder, false 9, or even on the wing. Thiago is no more than a talented footballer who's shown flair, particularly at U21 level but by no means has he established himself the way Cesc has done at his age.
This, especially after his performance against Barcelona in 2011, the media were over hyping him to a growing extent, when you could find a handful of players in Spain just like him or even better.
