City play with 2 strikers so they need 1 backup for each. we play with one striker so one back up is enough. One example is Real Madrid, they played with one striker when they had either Benzema or Higuain on the bench. you don't really need 3 world class center forwards in your team. you need one.

People comparing Drogba's lack of technical skills to Costa; need to stop. Drogba's first touch was class. his agility/dribbling let him down. Costa is a direct player, he's not going to wow us with something out of nothing. he's predictable. he's the center forward all center backs want to play against. he's a bully, but ask any defender, he's rather face a physical striker than a pacey/skillful one who can create something out of nothing in those tight spaces in the final third. Drogba is an exception, because his physical strength is out of this world. so the only "physical" striker I would be scared to face is Drogba. There is nothing Costa can offer that Lukaku can't. like honestly, if we're going to break the bank; let's sign a world class all round complete player for once.

He's basically a worse version than Drogba. I don't like his shots, they're incredibly weak. I don't like his technical ability and his dribbling as someone said above, it's not smooth. he's not a naturally talented footballer. the only good thing about him is his strength. he's a bully and he wins balls because of his power than technical ability. I don't like these type of strikers (unless you're Drogba strong). I'd rather have someone like Aguero/Suarez who can dribble, have great shooting and create goals when they're not scoring.

What I noticed about him is his shooting is nothing special. his shots are weak, not powerful. I don't like that in a striker, your striker should score in every way possible; whether it's a typical 1vs1 finish to a 30 yard out of the box shot. he never scores from outside the box. just saying.
