Imagine David Moyes going to Van Persie and telling him: "sorry mate, you just lost your place to Rooney. you need to adapt to some new tactics I have which Rooney does much better. Rooney defends better and creates more goals. you only score goals, not good enough. so now you play behind the striker, Rooney plays alone upfront. " When you have a player who was doing his job right, creating goals and scoring them, (Mata scored 21 last year) you don't go and tell him " I want to play Oscar in the no10 role, you play on the right" he earned that place, and he's somehow lost it now? Jose said he doesn't want Oscar to be chasing fullbacks, lol strong double standards. so he's okay for Mata to chase back and not Oscar? And did Mata even get a chance to fight for his no10 role? he's kept him on the bench since pre season ffs. he lost his position without even having the chance to fight for it. We played Sturridge on the wings when he was a center forward, people said hes not good enough, so we got rid of him he's the top goal scorer in the league now.

Jose created a problem out of nothing by going to the press and saying Oscar is "my" no10. he said it's a good problem, a problem which he likes to have. Alright Jose, I know you're the manager but you do realize there are thousands of fans out there who don't want this "problem" ? this will only lead us to lose a world class player as early as January. he's being really arrogant here and should stop thinking about what he likes, if we were on the top of the table with 12 points and a super cup trophy, I would shut up and listen to him. but when we're playing like crap and are 6th in the league and losing at home vs Basel then I want to know why our best player in the last 2 years is not playing. If this was Rafa, people would already be calling for his head. no one is calling for Mou's head. most of us just don't agree with him and we have the right to question him.

Lol how do you know how Mourinho wants us to look like when we are defending? there really isn't no difference. its the same formation yeah, the tactics are all the same. the wingers track back to make it look like the 4-4-1-1. you're just putting players in a different position (further up/further down), when on the pitch its always going to transform to the 4-4-1-1

We played 4-2-3-1 under Rafa. the one you're saying is exactly the same thing dude. Mourinho played the 4-2-3-1 with Inter and Real. it's the same formation dude. I think you've been playing a lot of Football manager or Fifa to think the wingers are much closer to the goal or something. its the same thing on the pitch. You have to be one bloody idiot if you think Mata is going to be a right winger whose going to dribble against fullbacks and somehow score. he can't do that. Mata is not Hazard, Mata has no pace at all. he's all about passing, finishing and creativity. he's not a winger, he doesn't have the stamina to track back. Oscar does because Oscar used to play as a CM with Internacional. I don't like seeing Oscar on the right and so does Mourinho. so.. stick him in midfield along Ramires ffs. Hazard-Mata-Willian Ramires-Oscar If Jose for once stops being so daft and tries this, then maybe we wouldn't be sitting here trying to fix things that didn't need to be fixed.

Why should our best player for the last 2 seasons be "adjusting" his game? I think we have more problems in this team than "Mata not tracking back" why change what's not broken? he didn't need to touch the Oscar/Hazard/Mata trio. Jose needs to go on that training pitch and tell Mikel how to shoot a football, tell Torres how to control a football, tell Terry to get faster, tell Luiz to be more disciplined and tell Ramires how to pass a ball if he's going to go and tell a player who scored and assisted half of our goals last year to adjust to these "new tactics"

Jose is seriously getting on my nerves right now. he always has these stupid dumb moments where he puts his arrogance ahead of the club. Many people hated him in Madrid for benching Casillas, but he was right. Deigo Lopez is better than Casillas. Now he's trying to do the same thing benching Mata for Oscar. the problem here is we had Hazard/Oscar/Mata working wonderfully for us. it was the only good thing about this team. we only needed a world class striker and a center midfielder to complete us. Jose basically destroyed the trio. spending 30m on an average player like Willian and an amateur like Schurrle for 17m. We had KDB and Moses which were going to be our back up for the trio. now we're left with 6 players fighting for the same position, people may think this is a good thing, but this rotation crap is BS. we don't even have chemistry in this team anymore, there is no solid starting 11. players are only focusing on themselves now, there is no team anymore. If it looks too good......... it's bad mate. We could have just splashed the cash for Falcao or Cavani and sold Torres while keeping Lukaku as no2. we could have gone for De Rossi or someone like Moutinho/fellaini in midfield. Now we're left with our best player unhappy, a joke of striker in Torres and a 32 year old crooked Etoo who doesn't give a shit about this club. as for now, we cant attack and we cant defend. Aston Villa outplayed us, Bayern out played us, Hull outplayed us, United outplayed us. The moment Jose dropped Mata was the moment where we started from zero again. can't believe a player who was going to be a legend in here is going to leave us while players like Schurrle and Willian are going to be playing instead of him because they can "track back" "defend" why the fuck should your most creative player track back? you stick your no10 and striker upfront while the wingers and center midfielders do that. Mata proved last year he was the best no10 in the game with his stats, and if the problem here is he thinks Oscar is a better no10, then hes fucking deluded.

The thing with Mourinho is he sometimes talks BS. he says we want to play a game where we keep possession, be the dominant team etc. but why did we park the bus vs Bayern/Man utd? we barely played football vs Bayern and United. the only time we played some nice football was the first 20 minutes vs Hull. this team is still the same. we don't have center midfielders who can control the match. we have defenders like Luiz and Cahill passing the ball from the back to our forwards, when our center midfielders should be doing that. Lampard/Ramires/Mikel/Essien are all woeful. Oscar should be CM. Mata should be no10. his first touch allows him to play with his back behind the goal. he can keep the ball in tight spaces, Oscar loses possession a lot, because hes simply nowhere near Hazard and Mata in terms of controlling the ball and keeping it in his feet. he is at his best when he has space. he's not going to create that bit of magic that Mata and Hazard can do.

Has Mourinho been watching us last season? how idiotic can you be to put your best player in this club for the last 2 years on the bench? Oscar is nowhere close to Mata in terms of creativity/passing/finishing. Oscar has speed/work rate/stamina but the better player is Mata. Mata is a natural. he's not fast enough to play on the wings, he's no Di Maria/Bale. a no10 is a no10, and right now Mou is asking Mata to change his game? wtf is wrong with you Jose? Oscar should be playing deep in CM next to Ramires/Mikel. he's definitely leaving next year. the most idiotic thing Mou has ever done, that's what you get when you buy useless players like Schurrle/Willian. we have to see these amateurs fighting for a place vs our best player. laughable.

I never really was a big fan of Eto'o ever since he left Barca. he was a great player with Barca but when he moved to Inter, he lost his pace. he's 33(?) and we're just signing him for the sake of getting a striker. I'd rather start Moses/Schurrle as CF than just waste money on players who are way past their best.

He's 20 years old and you have a feeling we're going to wreck his career? People on here are overrating him madly. he's not that good to be starting in a team challenging for the title. he's not good technically,. he can't pass / link up play and his shooting is hardly special. haven't seen him score a nice finish/long ranger yet. he's a threat in the air always though. he's got massive potential, right now the only good thing about him is he's hungry. he's going to kill himself every time he gets on that pitch. he's not your average footballer. his mentality is quite something for a young player. he wants to succeed and he will. just not now. he needs to work on his finishing/control/dribbling and passing. I would still rather see him start for us right now though. it's not because he's that good, it's because Ba and Torres are woeful.

The number of plastic fans on this forum is quite intimidating. how long have you lot have been supporting this club? let me guess, you support another team in La liga and serie A while Chelsea is your club in England. most people here are fanboys of certain players. it's ridiculous. it's either that or this forum is filled wth 12-16 year old kids.

You can't blame the manager when some of our players cant do simple things like dribble and pass the ball. Hazard/KDB/Andre/Oscar were all woeful today. our defense were solid at the back. our creative/attacking players let us down today.

I really really really don't want Eto'o here. it's definitely going to rustle my jimmies when a 30 something year old Eto'o playing in our team when Lukaku is on the bench. if we're going to sign a striker, let's sign a world class striker. not just some player who's going to retire any year now. if we really sign him, then Torres and BA must be really sh#t in Mou's eyes.

Yeah mate. having 4 strikers sure didn't help Man city and United battle for the PL alone for more than half of the season... Oscar/De Bruyne are versatile and can occupy center midfield. we play 60 games a season. last year we were playing 2 times a week for more than half of the season. we had to play Luiz in CM and Bertrand/Ramires as a left/right wingers ffs... We're building squad depth here. you really think we would sell our best player/fans favorite Mata? based on what? newsflash mate: we're not a selling club. The team comes before any players little heart gets hurt for not playing. deal with it.

I wish we didn't sign Schurrle. we should have signed Willian for another attacking midfield/winger position from the the start. people here have high hopes on Andre. he's not that good, 18m pounds is ridiculous for a payer who should not cost more than 15m pounds. he's unproven and could be another Marko Marin which we bought for only 7m. not bashing the lad, just think Willian is a better footballer than him and gives us more options, even if the later costs 30m. quality over quantity.

People who are bashing this transfer are ridiculous. last year Man United and Man city had 4 top class strikers each. did it hurt them? did they really need them all? get over yourselves. it's stupid to splash 30m on another AM but the club know what they're doing. we clearly have the fund, so why not improve? I'm only going to doubt this transfer if we don't get Rooney because we didn't pay what United are asking. not because when United are not letting him go.

Willian is a really good player, if he's available then we should go for him. it looks like we're really not going to get Rooney, instead of wasting money on a plan B/C average striker, I'd rather spend the money on a world class player. no matter what his position is. he wll only make us a better team.

Stop crying about Lukaku not starting FFS. we play 60 games a season. makes me cringe whenever a player is dropped by the manager people go on to assume the manager doesn't like the player etc.

Our playing WITHOUT the ball has been horrible for the past 2 years. we can't pressure opponents. the only player who is good at covering/pressuring opponents is Ramires. we need to work on our off-ball movement. we never close down, we basically just stand there looking at the ball. we never try to win it. we need to close down fast, we give teams an easy time to keep possession as much as they want. it's getting bloody annoying now.

We definitely don't need anymore signings...
