people speaking about Lukaku like he is Pele .. im sure Belloti is better .. Lukaku is overrated kid !

Well, Lukaku was top scorer in Belgium at the age of 16, then he scored 18 for West Brom, later he scored 50 goals for Everton in two seasons.. This things are so fucking common, they happen like every year. Totally overrated.

Sorry mate, but whatever happens, I would never wish for things that aren't beautiful for Chelsea. To have read all that on a Chelsea board where fans get along to discuss about the club, this made me furious.

I understand why people are disheartened, I am too, but this was pretty horrible to go through. I hope there are less people with the same mentality.

i understand you. People our different. Some learn from life by going through hard times to come out nicely at the end. Its like refining gold. It goes through a lot to get that beauty.

Others don't need to go through all that to learn from life. They just simply look at others and take a better decision. I don't think chelsea do that.

Look if they do correct themselves fine but i am repeating this if we play the Community shield with our position at the moment i would not feel any remorse for the club when we don't get to play in Europe for the second time in 3yrs. That would certainly cause some shakeup to happen at the club.

yea i agree they happen everytime. There are about 30 other targets we can choose from so yea totally Overrated.

Maybe lukaku is seeing all this mixed reactions and out of frustration just accepts to play for Man United. Yea no big deal cause we have 3 strikers with DONE DEALS but just waiting for medicals in the winter transfer before they join us

I've been  thinking about this for quite a while now and we HAVE to sign Lukaku if Costa is leaving. Normally when a fairly young striker shows the massive improvement he did last season, being the 2nd highest goalscorer in the league at 24 playing for a 7th placed team, it tells me he's on his way to being a world class player. We can't let him go to United. We will seriously end up regretting it.

Now that is something we as fans and the board will end up doing.

Red cafe is worse on their assessment of him than we are.

i know people have complained on this forum about why fans wish bad things for the club.

I wish bad as well. it is needed.

It like taking care of a child. Everytime you tell the child not to go close to the fire and everyday you pull him away. This goes on for so long until one day out of anger and frustration you watch the child go close and he places his hand into the fire and get burnt and you become satisfied because now you know that the child knows what will happen when he gets close and you can now have peace.

That why i believe some of us wish bad for the club. Since chelsea have not suffered they will never change and that how life is. We get so comfortable doing things and until something bad happen we never change. I am a bit happy that this is happening. I read Man united will try to get Morata in addition and i hope they do. What hurts me is Conte will get fired like the others and i hope when he does every top coach we go for will decline and we will go for Roman's russian friend.

It's so annoying when things repeat themselves but because we managed it and won the title we will stick to it. I really wish we go into the season with only Bats. There might be some benefits to even though we will likely not win the league we might see some Kids play and maybe break into the team.

The frustration is just too much and no one wants to change the system so we will stick with it. I don't mind if we go through what Manunited have gone through for the past few seasons. I am chelsea through and through i will still be till the end of time.

Good lessons for chelsea to learn but then again it will not happen cause we will sack 20 more managers but we will have the same board or financial system or what ever it is that is destroying us

You sound like you are caught up thinking you know what's best for the club and wishing them to fail is in some way your way of confirming your ego driven opinion.

I never want the club to fail, I know what I want the club to pursue but that will always be a peripheral opinion I have no control over. At end of the day my bottom line is the club remains successful regardless of what I deem right or wrong.

If the ethos of the club changes drastically and don't fit my philosophy then thats when you start rethinking which club you are following.

no one wants it to fail but when you see it heading that direction and as a fan you can't do nothing this is what you would want and that is to falldown and rise. we all wish for the club to be like real madrid don't we. At the moment we are not heading in that direction to be honest and if it take failing for the club to open their eyes then so be it. i may not no more than those running the club but does not mean if i see you entering a ditch and i try to say it and you don't listen i should blame myself.when you eventually enter the ditch.

Think we will not regretting it that much, even if he banging like 25+ goals for MU next season. It depends on how many silverware we won at the end of season though in compare to them. Lukaku is not our player. Regretting much, will be like when we sold Batman to Liverpool, and helping their position on top of us at the end of season.

Kristof Terreur (respectable Belgian HLN journalist) says that Lukaku really IS Conte's choice and those two have called each other repeatedly during these past few months. Both thought the deal would have gone through by now.

If the board screws this up, Conte will walk by the end of the season. I'm sure of it.

Everton get Rooney back on a free and United keep paying most part of his wages for the next couple of seasons. And still the fee is 75m reaching 90m after "easily achievable add-ons" (as per today's The Times).

He'd have been my 1st choice here won't deny this but even I can agree it's a silly amount of money. United had a leverage also in Rooney. Conte's 1st choice or not, this sum is complete madness.

The most reliable source in Belgian Media (Het Nieuwsblad) comes up with this news:

  • Romelu clearly told his manager he wants to join Chelsea
  • He is in contact with Conte for a while now and both agreed on the deal already a month ago. Both expecting it would have been a done deal by now!
  • As a matter a fact a transfer was ALMOST done last summer but a dispute between both owners blew the deal off last minute!

  • Raoiola on the other hand, wants him to go to Man U:
    • he got Ibrahimovic, Mkhitaryan & Pogba signing at Man U last season and now wants to bring in a new big deal.
    • WHY? Because Man U are paying him big bucks as a commission salary! We pay far less!

All the waiting of our excellent board <_<, made this to the situation we are in right now! Just finish this deal of  ****:fist:

PLAYER wants to be here, MANAGER wants him to be here => Perfect match!

So true. Fergie knows how greedy that bastard is. World knows.

Is the annoyance because we're missing out on Lukaku or that we're missing out to a direct rival?

Personally want him at chelsea

It seems that the fee is actually in the region of £100m. £75m straight up, £15m in clauses and a Rooney fee for around £10m waived.

I don't know. The transfer fees this summer are just so hard to relate to. Take someone like Mahrez who is suddenly valued at £50m, surely Lukaku is a better deal from that perspective? At the same time, you have B.Silva joining Man C for a bit over £50m, a player I would greatly prefer to Lukaku.
I mean, we are talking about a fee that is larger than that paid for Pogba less than a year ago. Pogba, for context, was the hottest property in Europe short of Ronaldo and Messi. It just seems unreal to top that for a player like Lukaku. Excellent at scoring goals sure, but also very limited in other areas.

Suddenly paying the clause for Belotti is no longer more than the cost of Lukaku. I hope that the board considers that.
My biggest concern is how Conte takes this. I would like to think that he isnt a child and realises that paying £100m for a limited player is insane, but I think we really need to finish some transfers to keep him happy.

So at least now we know, from where Everton will get all the money for paying their multiple signings earlier from. Mystery solved.
