Guest justin_3d
Villas-Boas ignores ChelseaPorto boss focusing on building a legacy with current club Last Updated: May 18, 2011 10:59am Villas-Boas: Linked with a return to ChelseaAny hope Chelsea may have had of luring Andre Villas-Boas back to Stamford Bridge appears to have been dashed after he insisted he remains happy at Porto. The 33-year-old has been reported as a possible successor to Carlo Ancelotti if Roman Abramovich decides to sack the Italian this summer following a trophyless season. Porto plucked Villas-Boas from Academica Coimbra to replace the hugely-experienced Jesualdo Ferreira at the end of last season and he has not disappointed, claiming the Portuguese Super Cup before winning the league unbeaten with five games to spare. Villas-Boas would get his hands on his third piece of silverware with victory over Braga in Wednesday night's Europa League final in Dublin before having the chance to add a fourth with this weekend's Portuguese Cup final.Very happyChelsea are reportedly monitoring the progress of a man who previously worked alongside Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge. But Villas-Boas insists he wants to try and emulate Mourinho's achievement of making Porto a force to be reckoned with in the UEFA Champions League next season, rather than leave for pastures new. "I am very happy at Porto. It's the city where I grew up. It's my home club and I don't see it easy to leave it," said Villas-Boas. "We are focused on winning the Europa League and next year we will go into the Champions League. "You cannot say that by reaching the final in the Europa League you will win the Champions League the next year (like Mourinho did). It's not that straightforward. "Next year we hope to get through the group stage, then maybe the quarter-final or further. Let's dream a little bit more."skysports.com------------I keep saying it, and i say it again. Right now there is no better coach available out there to replace Carlo. This coach defs. attract my attention, but he is not ready to move.It is why i still say Chelsea should keep Carlo till this man is available. Otherwise it will be the stupidest thing Chelsea ever does to fire Carlo and get a lesser coach.

We fire your assistant half way season, and we fire you after your second season. Why???Sorry, but it will be foolish for any top coach out there to come to Chelsea to replace Carlo. Guest justin_3d
A wage of £6million a year will always attract people to the job.....Sadly the truth, and it is why you won't get someone passionate as SAF or Wenger to do their job at Chelsea. They will be there for the money, and the money they can get to buy players.A mercenary club we are.

Kojo 4,676
The last comment is exactly right. I was in the MHL chanting his name at the end of it. Henrique 9,133
It will always be the same as long as Roman owns the club. However, where would we be without him??Roman only do what he things is the right thing for the club. He is not a mercenary, until now all he did was lose money with Chelsea.People complain that we sacked so many managers in the past:- We sacked Ranieri, and then Mourinho came. Now Mourinho is considered by many as a Chelsea legend. So, sacking Ranieri wasnt a mistale.- Mourinho was sacked because he didnt get along with Roman, he wasnt sacked due to bad results. We cant blame the board or Roman...everybody knows that Mourinho is a difficult character, he also had situations with Inter and Real Madrid's board.- Grant and Scolari were sacked, but none of them are missed. I'm sure few people in this forum will say that the club was wrong firing both.If Ancelotti is our current manager is because we sacked all the rest. I'm sure that if we we finally win a CL with another manager nobody will say "oh dear, we should have kept Carlo".

Who is the one that can do a much better job then our current manager????What Im trying to say is: people who want Carlo staying seems a little bit too extremists to me. I'm believe that Carlo is competent enough to lead us to a CL trophy or a PL tittle next season, or even both. But because a number of reasons I believe the right thing to do is look for another guy.But people supporting Carlo always come up with things like this:"I will lose all the faith that I have on the board""We will become mercenaries""Sacking Carlo is laughable""Nobody will want manage Chelsea anymore""We will start from point zero, if we sack Carlo""The world will end if Carlo is sacked!!"If Carlo leave or stay, we wont start from point zero nor the world will come to and end. The club has a long term project and its not necessarily related with keeping or firing a manager. Luiz, Torres, Kakuta, Sturridge, Josh, Piazon, Ramires, all of them are part of this long term project. Regardless Carlos' fate we will stay as one of the strongest clubs in Europe. warnie_666 1,081
What worries me more than Carlo's firing would be his replacement. The club at time has exhibited the tendency of having a brain fart by sacking top managers and employing people of the caliber of grant and to some extent scolari. Who is to say they wouldn't do the same by employing emanelo considering not many managers are available
steve5221 91
Can the people in the know on here, start a thread where we can vote who we would like as the next manager. Shane 2,275
We played brilliant football last season, and tore teams apart in Stamford Bridge when the pressure was on. Carlo was given a squad and used it brilliantly. This season, We fell apart, Carlo made mistakes, Every manager does it, Don't forget with Mourinho we blew a great chance to go ahead of United, and the week later we drew with Bolton at home, But there was no calls for him to be sacked. Ferguson went 3 years without winning the League at United and they were no calls for him to be sacked either. All in all, In two seasons, Carlo Ancelloti has guided us to 1st and 2nd in the League, Winners of the FA Cup, Quater and Second round of the Champions League. All this with an ageing squad, While missing key players like Essien and Lampard through injury, and he also had to put up with the whole John Terry/Wayne Bridge fiasco.Carlo's record against the 'Big' teams in the League speaks for itself tbhVs Man United: Chelsea 3-1 United (1-0, 2-1, 2-1, 1-2)Vs Arsenal: Chelsea 3-1 Arsenal (3-0, 2-0, 2-0, 1-3)Vs Liverpool: Chelsea 2-2 Liverpool (2-0, 2-0, 0-2, 0-1)Vs Spurs: Chelsea 2-1 Spurs, 1 draw. (2-0, 1-2, 1-1, 2-1)Vs City: Chelsea 1-3 City (This is poor, I know) (1-2, 2-4, 0-1, 2-0)All in all, against the top 5, Thats Chelsea 11-8, and even at that If it wasn't for City it would be 10-5.The fact is, and its a important point, That Carlo has done this with an ageing squad. If he has more time, and more young players come in like Ramires who he has got the best out of it seems, He can do so much better, Which is very good seeing as how well he was did with the current Chelsea squad in 2 years.
