BLionheart 516
It is clear that big decisions need to be made regarding Ancelotti , players and letting off old players . CFC is crumbling and everything seems to be falling appart . Change is needed and it has to take place fast .we have seen a lot of topics lately about which players should continue and which should leave , which players should we be buying and which positions needs strengthening , is carlo good enough or should he be sacked just like the others ....no one can deny that we need new players , that the likes of kalou , anelka , hilario and ferrera are not good enough for chelsea or that Ancelotti's position is under threat .but the kind of change that we need is not all that , it's very simple we need our football club to be run by professional footballers and they need to get all the support they need , we need to change the culture and the way the club is run from inside ....things will get more clearer this month , whether carlo will stay or will he be sacked , he has confirmed that we need new playersbut will he get all the support he needs to get world class players like David Luiz or will we end up looking for cheaper options like cahill or samba , will the under 20's start to get chances now that the senior players have done every possible thing to prove that youngsters can't do worse , i mean what's worse than getting 10 points out of possible 33 ....i think the next 3 or 4 months will be a great indicator to where this club will be within the next 3 or 4 years. NattyBlue 44
lmaoI thought this was a transition season too, gone horrible and tits up so far, a shame really...No faith in the youth players that we put in to supplement our squad is what has cost us up until now imo. EskWeston 696
Change is needed in the squad. Our Key players are old and our youngsters are too young to take over that responsibility yet. I would seriously go big time in the summer to sort our squad out.

Styles 9,790
Our tansition period was never really going to be smooth. With Spurs and City's emergence the days of the better clubs having a transitional period yet still qualifying comfortably for the Champions League is long gone.Besides our transition would be a lot better if it was a result of blooding in young players with real potential. In fact is it really a transition? The squad is just getting weaker and there are no players aged 20-25 in the first team other than Mikel... Styles 9,790
Exactly. Moreover it's not like we're trying to nurture players during this "transition"..Essentially it is just bad form at best or a serious decline at worst. If the fans are angry now imagine how things will be when we really do have a transitional period? Styles 9,790
Agree with the rest, but:Sturridge and PVA get pity minutes. There is no real plan for either player, especially Sturridge.Ashley is 30 and will probably be around until he is 34. I doubt PVA will stick around long enough to replace him. Ramires is one. Hopefully he will improve on the basic skill set of a footballer soon because his control and passing are really poor. I will pray for him. Fulham Broadway 17,311
It doesnt matter how much fantasy football is played on this site, as far as I can see the reason the 'youngsters' seem to be getting less time than expected is cultural. There is a long held tradition with Italian managers, be it Serie A or the national team of playing the established 'old guard' and a reluctance to blood new players..... And Sturridge is an u21 England international, 99% of the clubs in England would give him a proper chance. Unfortunately for him he is at the only club which does not give a f**k about his current ability or potential.
