Simon Kjær

Chelsea manager Carlos Ancelotti has identified Wolfsburg defender Simon Kjaer as the solution to his centre-back problem.

The Blues have been short of central defenders all season following Ricardo Carvalho’s summer departure and injuries to John Terry and Alex.

And, according to reports in Germany, Ancelotti is ready to reignite his interest in Kjaer, who he tracked during the summer.

Then, the Denmark international moved from Palermo to Wolfsburg, but it is thought a bid of around £7m would be enough to prize him away from the Bundesliga, little over six months after his arrival.

Danish players do fairly well at Chelsea.... Bjarne Goldbæk, Jesper Gronkjær to name a couple, Brian Laudrup wasn't a big hit though but he was the last player to score for us against FC Copenhagen!

Jes Høgh, was backup to Desailly and Leboeuf back in 2000, and he was dogged of injuries while he was coming to the end of his career, but he did put up some excellent performances when he did play.

What are the chances of him leaving his new club just after joining half a season?

Its just some random rumour. If he does comes, it is like a direct slap to Bruma's face.

Playing Ferreira against Sunderland at CB has already told Bruma he needs to up his game. Personally I don't think he's good enough for us yet anyway.

Kjær was fantastic in Palermo where he did amazingly well even against the big teams and was a huge part of Palermos success but his 6 months in the bundesliga has been nothing short of a disaster where he has looked like a headless chicken for nearly all of the games he has played and he was fairly shitty at the world cup too. He is cheap no doubt but I would much rather see Chelsea get a better defender.

Chelsea could seal the signature of Wolfsburg defender Simon Kjaer as early as Monday, according to sources in Germany

Carlo Ancelotti has been a fan of the Denmark international for some time and tried to sign him from Palermo while he was in charge at AC Milan.

And the manager thinks Kjaer could be the man to solve Chelsea's current defender shortage. Ricardo Carvalho left in the summer while first-choice pair John Terry and Alex have both struggled with injuries this term.

Wolfsburg have reportedly accepted Chelsea's £12.5m bid for the 21-year-old, who is understood to be keen on the switch to Stamford Bridge.

For that price it would be great as we are being pushed to pay £25m for David Luiz.

Sigh of Relief if this reports are to be believed. I remeber he had a good World Cup, even though the Bundesliga ha been rough on him. Mclaren hasnt done him any favour by making him the 5th CB.

Hope he comes. 12.5M is cheap IMO. the other cash to be used to get Sanchez blue%20scalf.gif
