He has fallen from grace from when the hype about him first appeared. But one ugly game + a Mourinho hair drier treatment, sent him on a long road down a fall from grace.

He's picked up his game on several loan moves Inter sent him out on in the last 2 years, but they probably feel he's not worth a contract extension any more. They can't really be blamed for having such mentality, they've got a good youth academy anyway.

Actually he has been only sent out on loan once, to Cesena. Besides he has effectively been replaced by Nagatomo.

Inter and Mourinho dropped the ball with him.

Just read that danny simpson could be sold, what do you guys think of him? I have seen him play this season a couple of times and he has been solid!

He would be rather cheap, english and only 24!

He's average at best.

My NUFC supporting mate doesn't really see the big hype. He's good, so he's doing a good job for Newcastle. But they know it's only a matter of time till Santon displaces him.

Kyle Walker is definitely the best English fullback. Can't see him wanting to leave Spurs in the foreseeable future though

From what I see, Simpson seems to do the minimal every game, I've always wondered if he could do better than that but eventually I've come to the point that he is really average. But solid, he is a pretty decent player

About Santon, I don't know what he shows at training but he is even unable to take the starting place of Raylor who is an average right back... For almost 2 months I wonder when this kid will start for NUFC in Premier League...

His defensive issues are a massive problem in is game, I don't think it will last long before his mate Kyle Naughton or Ryan Bennett or Nathaniel Clyne will be regarded as better balanced between the defensive tasks and offensive tasks

Well from what I'm being told, they're still not 100% confident on his fitness ect. But most NUFC fans do believe it's only a matter of time before he becomes part of the first XI.

Definitely right about Simpson though. My mate said he hopes Pardew sells him in Jan so they can look for better. They have been very good with bargains this last 12months!
