Why our winning days are gone

Recommended Posts

Started the season with winning all first five games (6-0,6-0,2-0,3-1,4-0) scoring 21 goals and conceding just 1 !!!! well they really look invincible !!!!

two months later and the same team results have changed dramatically that for our last five games we have only scored 2 goals and conceded 7 !!!!! well ,even getting a point from the newcastle away game was more than satisfying for some of our own fans !!!

well you gotta ask yourself what the hell happened !!!!

a lot of people here can't help but keep neglecting the fact that lately we have been a complete shit . and the reasons are pretty obvious only that some wouldn't like to admit it .

1- We have one of the worst medical team in europe :

Lamps injury - terry - alex - benayoun - Drogba's malaria all have been misjudged and mistreated bu our medical staff which resulted in missing important players for longer periods .

2-Lampard's injury :

each of mentioned injury could have saved us may be 3 or 2 points and we would have been top with those 2 points if terry or essien or Drogba was fit but i think it's a completely different case with lamps .....

if lampard was fit within 2 or 3 weeks from his injury as it should have been we would have been at least 5 points ahead at the top and the difference between him and others is he is the only irreplaceable player in chelsea !!!!

yes , we can afford to lose dogba , essien or even terry but not lamps as we have no replacement for him !!! i have discussed that before in another topic and mentioned how without lamps we are so predictable .

3- Wilkins Sacking !!!!

you have a steady ship , a team that won the double every thing looks good and secure for the 1st time since mourinho and all of a sudden a very popular character was sacked only to lower wages !!!! as much as carlo and players would say that haven't affected them but i will have to disagree.

4- thin squad :

at the start of the season it was clear that we have a very thin squad but with the departure of ballack , deco , carvahlo , joe cole and belleti we were kinda happy and excited to watch the promising youngsters that we have but they had to sit on the bench watching the team suffering with players playing out of position and others playing though injury .

5- ferrera - kalou - zhikov - anelka

well all good players if we are astonvilla or everton but not the champions ..... and they are blocking some real prospects like bruma , sturridge , kakuta and mceacheran from rising to big stars.

Everyone knows we've been shit, you don't really need a high IQ to figure that out. But some do realise that after a point of time, whining and finding faults and singling out people doesn't help, it just adds to the unpleasant atmosphere surrounding the club at the moment.

5-ferrera - kalou - zhikov - anelka

In that order.

I can't believe you're saying Nicolas Anelka, our top scorer, and Yuri Zhirkov who has come on leaps and bounds this season, are both not good enough for this team. I'll throw you a pair of boots and you try and do better for us?

Much like Kalou earlier in the season Anelka's stats give him too much credit. The fact that he's our joint top scorer says more about our attack this year than Anelka's form and contribution to our play.

He got 2 goals in a game we scored 6 and another couple against Zilina. He doesn't track back as much as he should and rarely ever gets into goalscoring positions despite being our best finisher. With Drogba ill and Malouda tired he should make things happen rather than drifting to the sideline slowing things down and fake shots, in that aspect he's been no better than Kalou whose directness is more beneficial to our play.

I reckon the times that he should have been in the box taping in or supporting Didier outnumber his goals and assists. The few times he did he scored some important goals.

Ignoring stats, when was the last time someone was throughly impressed with his overall performance in a game? I can only think of the CC Newcastle game.

You are entitled to your own opinion. but claiming that Yuri is not a chelsea type of player is sick. Havent you realised that this boy has been asked to play out of position ever since he came to CHELSEA??? the one time he played in his position was against ASTON VILLA at the bridge last year. Can anyone remember what he did?? if not, better go back and watch the video. In other words, I totally disagree. Zirkhov is only prone to injuries. thats all

Bluelion anelka dwells on the ball too much and he has pissed me off for a while now, i think it would not hurt for him to be benched for a while for the in form danny. I think anelka has become very comfortable in his role.

I appreciate that, but how is Sturridge 'in-form'? He does what every young player would do - run and run and run to try and impress. Look at Anelka; he can do something in five minutes (such as set up a goal or score it) and win a match. Sturridge doesn't have the same qualities.

Exactamundo.

Anelka should get it through his thick and shiny head that he's a striker and a pretty good one too. But like Kostas said somewhere, he has become allergic to the box. Real shame since he's a great poacher and cool finisher.

Danny has shown great movement and awarness in the box plus he does not get a nose bleed when he enters the 6 yard area.

Ahah, it's exagerated for Anelka, but i'm agree to say for more than a month he's been shit... What we see now it's the Anelka who has played the WC in South Africa...

If it was up to me, he would warm the bench (and Kalou or Sturridge would play on the right wing)... Actually, he slows down our pace, and that, this is the last thing we need !! Plus, he doesn't play where he's supposed to play. He's a right (or left) winger, but he plays like a holding midfielder, and that destabilizes all our game (and no need to mention when he is played as our main striker)...

For Zhirkov, it's a little be harsh to be honest. We can't say it's his fault. He's not a midfielder nor a left back but he's a left winger. However, since he's here he's never played in his good position... I still wonder why Carlo has played him in midfield and left Malouda in attack.

Thank you! Someone who agrees!

Guys, I seriously think you're underestimating Anelka's abilities. Of course he knows his performances of late may not have been up to scratch but he's much more than your average centre forward. He's got the ability to run at defenders with a spark of pace and deliver a ball worthy enough to head into the back of the net. When you get him 1-on-1 with the keeper, he's 99% likely to finish it. And he's also (in my opinion) a crucial link between the midfield and attack (in Lampard's absence).

I'm extremely confident in his abilities but from what we've seen he's just not using them right.

For example he's our fastest player yet he rarely runs, he's our best finisher but he stays out of the box.

He's been trying to be that link for quite some time (since 2009), even when Lampard was playing. I don't see how it's working.

Correction, José Bosingwa is our fastest player and Sturridge might also be faster than him :halo:.
