question is , what style of football do we want to play buy Lukaku and he will be simular to Drogba or do we go for the fast pacy strikers e.g Neymar , it all depends on how we want to set up. exciting times...

Hit the nail right on the head.

As good as Lukaku could be and no matter how effective Drogba-type strikers are I understand that both Abramovich and Carletto want to move away from the old "boring, boring Chelsea" and to achive that we'll have to get forwards with a different style of play.

Apparently, he's not leaving until 2014. Santos made a plan for him, that has a goal to help him become the best player in the world. Or at least get a nomination for fifa's best in the world, while playing in brazil. He also wants to stay there until the world cup.

:chai:

Making plans for him to become their new Pele are they?? I have to say, that is understandable on their part!

I'd kind of rate him for staying in Brazil, for a few more years. He'd be doing Brazilian Football great credit & would leave Santos with them getting a very good fee from him. Of course, the other side of that coin is, he won't get as much exposure to top level football as much as he would in Brazil, he wouldn't play the likes of Barcelona or Bayern Munich for a good few years.

We have had hard nosed negotiators before but managed to see them off (Luiz the prime example).

The same will be the case in the summer, Santos will spend all summer claiming they want £40-50m for him and eventually (possibly even on deadline day) they will settle for lower (probally £25m-£30m). The brazillians we already have will give us HUGE advantage no need to beat around the bush with that one.

Lets just use this as an example, we were a standard but not great footballer playing non league football and 2 clubs from eastern europe wanted us, Warsaw from Poland and Levski Sofia from Bulgaria for example, Warsaw had 1 person that speaks your language and even that aint very well but Sofia had 5 of your fellow countrymen and about 10 that could speak your language and a fair few that can speak both Bulgarian and your language, there will be only 1 place you will go.

Oliveira seems like a right mug. He must be blind, look at Ramires, Alex and Luiz. Why wouldn't he want Neymar to play for one of the worlds biggest clubs?

All this noise after a fricking friendly. Don't want to think about what will happen once the transfer window is open.

Agreed, it will be absolute mayhem, every player or prospect will be linked with Chelsea.

"The future belongs to God and nobody knows what tomorrow will bring, but I have a contract with Santos," he told a press conference in Brazil. "I'm happy and I want to stay.

"Happiness is everything. If you're unhappy, you don't stay, and when God gives me the feeling in my heart that it's time to go there [to Europe], I will go. Right now, my family and I are happy here. This is my country."

"He [Zahavi] has worked with Wagner and [the dinner meeting] was not linked to Chelsea," Neymar said. "We were in his town and we went to dinner with my family, but it wasn't anything to do with business matters."

"Everyone wants to play for Barcelona, and I do as well, but these things have to be carefully considered."

Bwahaha this is fucking hilarious...now Barca is his dream move.

Anyone still want to put up fantasy future lineups?

If you were read that last sentence carefully, you'll notice he said "these things have to be carefully considered"

He hasn't made up his mind yet, even it Chelsea or Barcelona would be his supposed "dream move", he has plenty of time to think about his future, why would he make a choice now.

Arshavin said after Euro 2008 he would love to move to Barcelona and the following January he ended up at Arsenal.

The kid keeps coming out with these nonsensical lines every few days. Chelsea, Juventus and now Barcelona have all been mentioned by him as dream moves., only to quickly follow it up with statements like 'I'm happy here and want to stay' or 'I will discuss with my parents and agent' etc. They're all feeding the media frenzy when a simple 'no comments' would suffice.

And here we are debating for page upon page why he would be perfect us/who would he replace/is he better than Lukaku or Sanchez. Unnecessary bollocks.

Isn't that the basis for the entire transfer thread then? Of course this is speculation as is Lukaku & as is Sanchez. That's all these threads are anyway.
