Any of you on here rate Wale? Out of the "new school" rappers he's by far my favourite at the moment. Ambition album is still on replay till this day. Who's your favourite rapper who's bounced onto the scene in recent years?

Ambition was decent, although it was forgettable compared to the standout album of 2011 which was Kendrick Lamar's 'Section 80'. I preferred Wale's 2009 album 'Attention Deficit', Cole's verse from Beautiful Bliss is a classic.

Definitely wasn't the best album in 2011, not going to argue about that! Didn't really listen to Wale before it though and it really made me listen to more material of his. Yes, Cole absolutely destroys that song, haven't fully sat down and listened to Attention Deficit yet though, I will now on your recommendation.

There were quite a few better albums out like Kendrick's or A$AP Rocky's or WTT. Still waiting for a classic this year though...

Section 80 is a conceptual masterpiece, this generations Illmatic.

The question isn't whether or not it was the best album of 2011, the question is whether it's one of the greatest albums of all time. It's no wonder RapGenius placed it as number 1 on it's top 25 albums of 2011 list.

Kendrick Lamar is 1000000x better than J. Cole; he should be bowing to his feet.

Ooft, wouldn't go that far  - I still often find myself playing Cole's mixtapes now and then. Something undoubted is Cole's ability to maintain a constant flow over any beat. Granted his album wasn't impressive (then again, commercial EP, who did expect that?). A collab with KL is exactly what he needs to bring back his underground fans, and boy does he need to do that!

Mind = Blown

The production on this is sublime, next level.

It's from Curren$y's 'The Stoned Immaculate' album, which was leaked today, full download: http://www.sharebeast.com/y98v1pq2muzo

Haha, I've seen you on Twitter really impressed with Curren$y. Then again, you've always been a huge fan of his anyway! I'll check it soon.

Big K.R.I.T's debut album 'Live from the underground' is pretty decent, not as good as his 'returnof4eva' mixtape but still pretty solid.

I'm disappointed in K.R.I.T, he hasn't really increased in his development throughout the music game.

I am a huge fan of Wale. I saw him live a couple of years ago when he was relatively unknown (I believe it was just before A.D dropped). I'll have to agree with Term though, AD is better than Ambition in the sense of Wale's actual abilities. But as a commercial album I'm very impressed by Ambition, especially that actual song with Meek & Rozay. Also liked Slight Work (ft. Big Sean) & Focused (ft. KiD CuDi).

Wale is garbage, boring and generally annoying as with most rappers of his sort...

found out about him back when Biggavel murdered his Nike Boots instrumental

only rapper I rate from the hipster new school of rap is Kid Cudi

but u cant compare him with a Wale or j cole....totally different styles

Section 80 is on different level than any other album in last 5 years. Only album, which I can still listen today. MASTERPIECE.

He set high standards for Good Kid in a Mad City with Section 80.

You have some good artists today don't get me wrong but the mainstream garbage and the beat of a drum is what grabs the majorities attention.
