Fulham Broadway 17,497
Stokesy does it again. That 6 when he dived and it rebounded off his bat was mad -like if Hollywood were to make a film about cricket.... coolhead23, We Hate Scouse, Vesper and 1 other
coolhead23 1,147
The Cricket World Cup doesnt get any better than what everyone witnessed today .. It was freaking insane, heart goes out to New Zealand ... some might say they were robbed and that could be true as well but it was just that England did a little more in terms of everything ... Stokes: hats off!!! nothing to be said. First time Champions considering England is the home of Cricket ... took a long time but what a way to get it. Maddening. Congrats England and New Zealand ... it couldnt have been better. On a side, the game was a tie so none of the team won on the field but on technicality Vesper

Iggy Doonican 4,186
Just got back from the boozer about twenty of us watching at two o' clock. Half four a few more people are taking interest but basically not that bothered. Half six the pub is rocking like fuck so many twists and turns. Super over people are standing up tearing their hair out kiwi scores a six we're all deflated yet after that run out win the gaff goes fucking mental and I mean proper batshit mental doesn't matter who or where your from nothing brings people together like sport. Of course winning does help Fulham Broadway and Vesper

Like I said it has been long time in the making and what a good place to be at Home of Cricket ... More than that this should really boost cricket in England which as I read in the news has being on a downward trajectory ... This WC for England has been a 4 year in the making thing and that makes this even more rewarding with a final like this ... audiences need to start coming in. Still cant get that last over out of my mind !!!
1905didierblue 748
I dont think i have viewed anything that was downright as pathetic as what i witnessed yesterday. A. It was not even a 6, it was a 5. If the overthrow goes for a 4, only the number of runs completed at the time of throw if taken into consideration. The batsmen had not even crossed, so infact rashid should have taken the strike. B. Cant believe that more number of boundaries decides the winner. I just cant believe that. Whats the logic? Whats the sense behind this. My god. Thats like saying, a team with higher number of shots on target is the winner. I have never seen a more unworthy winner. New Zealand were completely robbed. I understand the rules are just too complex but everyone knows about it before the players take the field and it is same for both. But seriously "The batsmen had not even crossed" what were u watching mate? Stokes dived just being short of his cease and while the ball hit the bat he was already in which is the second run add to it the four makes it 6. It's not when the ball hits, it's when the ball is released. So it should have been a 5 with Rashid on strike.
