Tbf, the opening scene with Waltz was riveting. He was bossing it throughout and there are some very good 'intense' moments in the film but I was disappointed in the lack of seriousness in the film which took the sting out of the intense moments.

You are smarter than that Strike...

Since when did the Inglorious Basterds had the goal to be factually right? It is like you argue that LOTR isnt good because Orcs dont exist!

For what the overall purpose was, it is one hell of a movie. It is not exactly about WW2, it is there only for some context (strong context, but still bot the main focus of the plot). It has no intention to be verisimilar, the whole world is caricatured. Everything is a bit or very odd, including (and specially) the Basterds. The acting is good, the dialogues are even better and the sequence of events are incredibly smart (the smartest of stories and the ones that naturally follows its desired path without making the viewer think too much). There is nothing to not like about this movie, only if you dont understand the essence of it!

The problem with people that dont like Inglorious Basterds is because they are too narrow minded...

That argument is a double-edged sword. it is the reflection of the film-maker's quality to make a realistic environment of WW II but it was closer to a parody i thought. Brad Pitt was depicted as an 'over-the-top' stereotype. The Shoshanna storyline ended with a cliched double homicide. They brought this 'fun' feel with WW II, what with the alternate American ending and all, but I was hoping for something more serious

Pub has gone crazy 0_o

Exam was a big steaming pile of **********

Wouldn't be too surprised if the lecturer went missing

It could be worse. I once did an exam where the lecturer said that he actually started crying with the amount of people who failed lol. :D

The movie is exactly a parody!

How could you be expecting a more serious movie when the openning scene is already an absurd in itself?

The whole idea of the movie is to cleverly play with a lot of stereotypes that surround WW2...

Cant you see how everything is over the top in the film?

Each Basterd's background, the German movie actor/soldier, the rughness of both sides, Hitler is always overly screaming or smiling, the French culture clash, the racism presented in the helper inside the cinema, the tavern and Germans having fun, Brad Pitt accent, etc.

The ending was purposily chosen to be as far apart from the reality as possible. Hence Hitler is killed in a horrendous way (a clean death would be naturally the option, but everything is caricaturated in the movie).

This all shows how it has no intention to be factually right!
