Spike, Kezza. Is there a way to distinguish a New Zealander from an Australian based on their accents? I'm curious because there was this TA who pronounced "Math" like "Meeth", and I'm thinking he's from New Zealand, but am I right?

You sir, are correct. Just like how they pronounced 'six' as 'sex'

Just out of curiosity, is QUT pronounced 'cute'?

No. Q - U - T.

Yeah there is. That is a New Zealander by the sounds of things. Australians would be more likely to say "maaath". Dragging out the 'a' sound longer.

Aussie

Kiwi
