chrismada9 1,948
We will be wearing the new 2010/11 home kit for the FA Cup Final against Portsmouth at Wembley on May 15.It is the first time we will sport the new kit in a match, and Cup Final shirts are available to pre-order at www.chelseafc.com/megastore with the shirts also available to buy at the Stamford Bridge megastore from next Thursday, May 6.Pompey will be in their change colours after we won the toss of a coin, the opposite situation to last season when we were forced to wear yellow in our 2-1 victory against Everton.----------------------------------------------Source:- Official Chelsea Website----------------------------------------------I honestly thought we were going to wear it in the Wigan game. cfc-meleady 192
1 game in the new kit and 1 piece of silver wear, that'll be a pretty good start.
Morpheus 8
we should wear the kit that got us here.
EskWeston 696
Yeah i am sure it was said somewhere it would be the Wigan game. Not too sure about wearing new kits at the end of the season, like Morpheus said, wear the kit that gets you there..
Luke 60
Yeah I agree, wear the kit that got us to the final, next seasons kit is for NEXT season.
Blueboy 14
We should write the club a letter, i love the symbolism of us wearing the kit of this season in THIS years FA Cup final. Marks the end of a (hopefully) great season and at the same time that of a new beginning . I almost feel like quoting the bible or some other religious book :tophat:
DavidEU 2,023
The rules are that you can wear a different kit for one game per season in FA competitions, and I pressume the club believe the shirt will sell better if they wear it in this game rather than the Wigan one.Agree with the aboves though. Steve 10,227
We once wore our new kit into a final and i dont think anyone wants to really remember that night.
HRiver 1,512
We certainly don't.

I doubt it..

I doubt it..it creates the illusion the kit has been out longer.
Ollie 4,400
This bit us in the arse before in the UCL Final when we wore the new kit. I agree we should respect the kit that got us there because the 2010/11 kit is for the 2010/11 season. We'll wear it for the Wigan game anyway i think as the one we wore in the UCL final was also worn against Bolton where we lost the plot and drew. That kit had a disastrous start rofl. NattyBlue 44
Well lets not fuck it up and wear blue socks as well
Kez 2,727
We were originally gonna wear it for the Wigan game, I think it's ridiculous we wear a new kit in a final when we should be wearing the kit that gets us there.
Rambo 1,729
This was clearly a business move to sell more shirts.
BlueLion. 21,491
I can see the club's reasoning. They'll sell more shirts, its simple.Furthermore I'm glad we're wearing our current kit against Wigan. Every time we've won the next season's kit in the last home match (ie. 07/08 v Bolton, 08/09 v Blackburn - and you could argue 06/07 v Everton), we've failed to win the League. NattyBlue 44
Lolannoyed that the FA Cup shirt is the new kit thoughI'm getting a scarf!
ZanSnake 1,211
Surely the shirt doesn't change much?Surely it is mostly about the performance right?Well, that's what i believe.
BlueLion. 21,491
No, but us traditionalists are a bit sad like that
