Term-X 7,891
For me it has to be Bill Hicks.. considered one of the greatest comedians of all time, and for those who have yet to be enlightened by real genius. Here are a few opportunities for your 3rd eye.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vX1CvW38cHA"Today, a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration – that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There's no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we're the imagination of ourselves. Here's Tom with the weather."http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mrZcztxRquo"A lot of Christians wear crosses around their necks. You think when Jesus comes back he ever wants to see a fucking cross?I was walking through Central Park, and I saw an old man smoking. Nothing makes a smoker happier than to see an old person smoking. This guy was ancient, bent over a walker, puffing away. I'm like, "Duuude, you're my hero! Guy your age smoking, man, it's great." He goes, "What? I'm 28.""They lie about marijuana. Tell you pot-smoking makes you unmotivated. Lie! When you're high, you can do everything you normally do, just as well. You just realize that it's not worth the fucking effort. There is a difference."
Fulham Broadway 17,332
Definitely agree with that. Genius, and tragic his life was cut short at such an early age with Pancreatic cancer. Or was it ? Loads of speculation that the Yank govt bumped him off. He was so radical, stuff about drugs, Bush seniors wife, and the first Iraq invasion, that was just as relevant for the second invasion. Total embarassment to the US Govt. Also like Bill Bailey, Eddie Izzard, Mark Thomas, Gervais n Merchant....

Favorite comedians at the moment? Lee Evans will always be one of my favorites and i love pretty much everything Ricky Gervais does (include Steve Merchant and Karl Pilkington with that)... They were mentalists, but didnt deserve to be wiped out like that.

Term-X 7,891
Ricky Gervais causing controversy after his 2nd year of hosting the golden globes. Even sparking conspiracy theories http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/2011/jan/17/ricky-gervais-golden-globes-hostAll Ricky did was hold a mirror up to Hollywood and show how silly and absurd the whole world of the celebrity has become. Gervais isn't going to conform and tone down his act, you have to respect him for that. He could have just took the money and played it safe.Legend.
