EskWeston 696
Bosingwa has been a massive loss in my opinion. I think you will see us cracking into another gear when he is back. If we could find another right back like him as back up we would be laughing, Ivanovic does a great job but just doesn't offer us the same going forward. Rubber bullets 1,183
I think Bosingwa is a great, but Ivanovic has been fantastic at RB, and I just think Ivanovic should get first choice at RB, especially since Bosingwa is not match fit. But Iva has been outstanding defensively.
diskoviolente 425
I think Bosingwa and Ivanovic are offering some different styles of playing.I can see bringing Bosingwa on as a subsitute if we are lacking some attack and the other way round if we just need to hold the line clear.Good news certainly. Rambo 1,729
Ivanovic has been great, but Bosingwa gives us more of an edge offensively and his pace definitely helps on the defensive side of the ball.
ZanSnake 1,211
could we not try him at RM at on point?
BlueLion. 21,491
I think people who say Ivanovic doesn't bring that much to the team in an attacking sense are wrong. Some of his crosses are brilliant, and he's got an impressive 5 assists this season.
bombayblue™ 55
it's not that Ivanovic doesn't bring anything offensively to teh team BL,Bosingwa's speed and crossing give him a slight edge.. And the teams looks balanced going up from both sides and we'll be stretching the teams further..I'm sure though against a great Left winger Iva will be preferred, a la Dinho of 05.. BlueLion. 21,491
In fairness, I'd like to see Ivanovic back at centre-half, if Bosingwa comes in at right-back. I think he's been our best defender this season and certainly deserves a place on performances alone. I've always rated Carvalho but there's no doubt he's well beyond his best; he and Terry can be incredibly cynical defenders with some of their challenges. Personally I think we have better defenders at the club than Carvalho, ie. Alex and Ivanovic; Alex is still working his way back to full fitness and Branislav has been superb. So we have a difficult decision - stick with Carvalho, bring Ivanovic over to centre-half with Bosingwa at right-back, or play Alex. Either way, two world class defenders will lose out. The Big Drog 1,110
Ivanovic has been super at right back this season. Granted he doesnt have the blistering pace of Bosingwa but he isnt slow either. Also Ivanovic's delivery of crosses is much better than Bosingwa's. Anyway two very good options to have.I gotta say though I really dont fancy Ivanovic at centre back , really doesnt impress when he plays there. I think Alex is the right man to play in that position. He is strong , fast , quick into the tackle with a good reading of the game and his height will help our set piece frailties. gary gordon 1,777
I would like to see Ivanovic play 60 minutes then bring on Bosingwa as an impact player... Imagine how his speed could carve up that wing when every other player is tired...
Gianfranco_Z 202
Ivanovic has been absolutely class this season. It's got to be him or Alex playing alongside Terry when Bosingwa is back. I think Alex should play when we are playing Strong Tall teams like Stoke or Blackburn. I think personally as well that we haven't missed Bosingwa, anything that he could do, Branislav has stepped up to plate and given as good as imo. Will be nice to see Jose back in a couple of weeks though

Steve 10,227
DECO BACK IN TRAININGPosted on: Tue 12 Jan 2010There was a full session for Deco on Wednesday as training returned to the outdoors of Cobham for the first time in over a week. The snow and cold weather have meant disruption to Carlo Ancelotti's training plan, with two days off granted after the postponement of our game at Hull on Saturday. The lads were back in this morning despite the snow still covering much of the Surrey ground, and a first involvement for Deco after a hamstring injury had kept him out of action since facing Portsmouth on December 16.The ground staff have worked hard over the last couple of days to make the training surface playable, meaning the squad could head outside rather than train indoors on the all-weather surface of the dome. The youth team also used the pitches yesterday to prepare for their FA Youth Cup game at Nottingham Forest tonight.Chelsea FCLets hope he comes back on on form and plays well because we could really use some creativity at the moment. EskWeston 696
Deco has been very hit and miss, but if we can get him back in some sort of form he will be very useful to us.
