misschief 24
Drogba...MoM...two assists for two goals and he totally owned Carra for that Last goal. Needs to learn to stand on his feet more often. Often tends to go down when he loses the ball.Hilario, a Fantastic performance with a fantastic last minute diving save to keep a clean sheet. DIDIER DROGBA......GET THE FUCK IN!!!!!1We are at the top. You'd seriously give Drogba MoM? Yeh ok, he had two assists and was as much of a pain in the opposition's arse as ever but he could've done a lot more damage if he stayed on his feet for more than 50% of the game. To have his own captain have to go and tell him to get the fuck up should've told him he was an embarrassment but apparently not, because he just kept doing it. And the flip side to that was that when he could have won us free-kicks in decent areas for being genuinely fouled, the officials didn't want to know - and who could blame them? His theatrics have crept back in again the last couple of games and that's why he'll never get the respect he really should do as a player. Personally, despite having digs at him before this game, I'd give MoM to Hilario. He didn't have to do much but when he was called on, he did exactly what he needed to. Great save from Gerrard at the end and all.
caesarblues 51
Chelsea's Didier Drogba: "We lost to Wigan, so it was important to win today and beat a direct opponent for the title. Tactically it was a very good game for both teams. It's good to go to the international break with these points and be top of the league."

BlueLion. 21,491
And regarding the Man of the Match contest, how anyone can award it to any player other than John Terry is beyond me. BY A MILE the best player on the pitch.
EskWeston 696
Very good performance. It is always very very hard to play one of the other big boys, but we worked hard and scored 2 good goals and kept them at bay very well indeed. Hopefully we will see the negativity dissapear for a while at least because we are looking very good this season.Always a joy to get one over the vermin. ZanSnake 1,211
I didn't watch the game (i was out), so i'll be watching MotD2 tonight. Great to see Anelka on the scoresheet, also good to see Hilario keep a clean sheet in such an important game.
Ray. 217
Just returned from the match and am a very very happy man, I couldn't have asked for a better game. I somehow had a feeling that we would come out on top. For me I thought Hilario did a good job. I think it must have been my singing that helped steered them on to victory Edited October 4, 2009 by Blueray

Great save from Gerrard at the end and all.Agreed he was an embarrasment with his theatrics. But you cant deny the fact that he created the two goals, specially the second goal he totally owned Carragher. Cant see Anelka doing it to be honest. I dont think we would have won it if it wasnt for Drogba. Torres had a quiet game and Hilario didnt have much to o apart from that last minute diving save.
