C'mon guys, are you even serious? City adds some names and all of a sudden they turn into favourites?

Jesus Navas the guy who suffered from extreme homesickness? Fernandinho? Jovetic will get his ass raped in EPL, he's a talented young lad, but he is so injury-prone and his body acts like a "women's body" that he will brake into million pieces when Ivanovic/Terry/Vidic/Verthongen/Williams will challenge him.

Navas is such a simple player to read: he's a right foot dribbler, that's his only move, that's the only thing he knows to do... and run, ofcourse.

Fernandinho is a decent guy, he's calm and reads the game well. He'll be Pellegrini's watchdog, but we need to see how he adapts to a new league. He's only played in, let's say, two average leagues. He won't be competing against Odessa and Simferopol anymore.

I think Negredo is a good signing, he's done some great seasons in Sevilla, 71 goals scored in the last four La Liga seasons. This means 17 goals per season. Not bad. But I can't see him breaking into the first 11. If benched, I think City will have the best backup striker in EPL, no doubt.

And do I have to remember you who is in charge? This guy has done some great things in UCL in the past seasons, but let's face it guys, he is and will always be just a "small team coach" IMO.

2nd of June, 2009 - Madrid - Pellegrini signs a two-year contract with Real.

He says something like: "Ok, I'm in charge now. If you guys want to win all the trophies then I need the best players available."

Said and done. Next day Perez brings Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo (£80 million), Benzema (£30 million) and Xabi Alonso (£30 million) to Madrid. They will complete a team that already has quality players such as Iker, Ramos, Higuain, Guti, Marcelo.

And after that what happens? Real Madrid is knocked out of Copa del Rey during the Round of 16 by Alcorcon (?????!?!?!?!?), then Lyon ends Pellegrini's UCL journey in the Round of 16 and later on Barcelona wins La Liga. (Madrid didn't even score a single goal against Barcelona in that season. 0-2 and 0-1 as I remember).

26th of May, 2010 - Madrid - Pellegrini is being sacked by Florentino.

Well, that's Pellegrini's story. He's only managed one big club, maybe the biggest club in the history of football and he failed. Big time failure. He had a "stelar" team there and, yet, he failed to deliver. I rate Pellegrini's Real far better than Pellegrini's Man City. Can't see this guy winning EPL.

So calm down guys. Yes, City will be challenging the title this season, but they are far from being favourites IMO. They will choke when the real fight will begin, Pellegrini won't stand a chance against Jose's mind tricks. They might have the upper hand when it comes to H2H, but we have Mou.

PS: Supersport United (???) 2-0 City

and

Amazulu (???) 2-1 City

I know this are only preseason games, but Hart, Kompany, Nastasic, Kolarov, Yaya, Fernandinho, Dzeko, Nasri and others were on the pitch. Read an interview with Rodwell saying Pellegrini wants to bring that neverending passing game to City, he wants to implement that tiki-taka philosophy and wants his players to press high up and press in numbers, to get the ball back as soon as possible and then play simple football. I guess Supersport and Amazulu don't agree with this...

Loving how you underrated every single new signing City made this summer hahahaha. Fernandinho destroyed us in CL, Navas have been one of Spain's best player in the last 2 major tournaments+ consistently prove it over the year in Spain. Negredo scores min of 20-25 goals in his last 2-3 years and if he was in Serie A, he would cost like £40-£50m like Cavani. Jovetic is very good, you don't get the attention of Chelsea, Real Madrid, City, Juventus if you are not that good.

^ navas isnt that good for sevilla. he is a good player, nothing more. he is no hazard or something like this. also he is one-dimensional as hell and always does the same. his greatest attribute is his speed. and he hasnt been one of the best players for spain in the tournaments. he was always a sub and barely even used beside the last 20 mins.

negredo is mediocre. technically limited and depends on his teammates. his biggest strength is his physicality and he has a good sense for the goal. gomez for 20 m would've been 100 times better than Negredo for 30. thats a joke, paying 30 m for a 28-year old average striker who hasnt proved anything on international level.

35 m for Fernandinho is incredible. he is a good player, yes, but he didnt rip us apart. the whole Shakthor Team did it. we just played awful under Di Matteo at that time and had no tactic at all...he was then ripped apart by BVB for example.

Jovetic is a good talent, but not a special talent. and "Interest" and willigness to buy, is a difference. madrid didnt want him, chelsea didnt want him. juve didnt want to pay 30 m for him. he is good, but not someone I would be afraid of. futhermore he is injury-prone.
