eldo 868
The board cares about wages, thats why Ballack left. Carlo wanted him to stay. Torres arrived because Roman want to, not because Carlo asked him to buy the spanish. So I think the board will ask Drogba to leave. If it was all up to Carlo, we would play with the same squad for the next 5 or 8 years, and he would play Drogba as a starting XI until his 40.Lmao.Haven't you seen the interview when Carlo says how he understands what the board wants to do. He is not someone who will make those deals.Drogba can still play, he will extend his contract i can bet on that.

Kostas 1,468
You raise a few points but I'm still not convinced. Drogba is more important to our play than Ballack, Deco or even Carvalho ever were. We will probably get two more years out of him and I believe he'll be able to play at the top level, afterall he is a late bloomer. eldo
Henrique 9,133
I think some guys were really fast in saying that Alex should leave because Luiz is now the new Terry's partner.Luiz has great future, but right now he is far from being consistent. LDN Blue 7,903
Agreed. Alex just reminded us why he's still in the picture..

BlueLion. 21,491
I love Luiz but he is quite a haphazard defender... however he will learn in time to adapt to our style of football. Alex, however, is a typical English style defender. Both have futures at the club. Henrique
Peace. 4,352
If he stays, then we should loan Bruma next year to an EPL team. Otherwise he won't get anygame.
termninja 5,290
I look forward seeing Alex play for us next season, and he is 1 player we shouldn't sell, and as for Bruma he should be loaned, but to a bigger club.

Ollie 4,400
We should build our defence around Alex and Terry next season without changing it and unsettling it. Alex is a great defender. If i was to name the best 2 pairings, Luiz wouldn't even get in. Terry - IvanovicTerry - AlexIvanovic - Terry - Alex - Ashley Cole = Sorry LuizLuiz seems a more midfield player to me. Whoever said he's a defender was obviously high at the time. He, like Bosingwa is no fucking defender. Not sure how he'll get into midfield tho unless he replaces Lampard (more than possible) or plays with Lamps in a 4-4-2. Maybe i don't know what i'm saying but he doesn't look like a defender to me Edited May 8, 2011 by OllieCFC
True_Blue 469
Alex must stay,he maybe not fast but he controls the ball well and he is one of the strongest center backs and he is absolutely crucial for us.
Waterfall 893
Having a strong 2nd/3rd CB like Alex gives us much needed depth and lots of options tactically. No way he's sold. Madmax and Sparkie
Sparkie 27
Was the stand out Chelsea player for me - we all (myself included) got swept away with the Luiz hysteria. He'll be good, but needs an off season to learn the Chelsea way too, like Torres. eldo
termninja 5,290
Luiz plays 1 bad match and already he's a bad player. Sure he had a great start, but you shouldn't forget that he is young, that he doesn't know English and that he is in our club around 5 months. Besides that, Luiz needs to play and improve while Alex is a finished article. LDN Blue and Tomo

Tomo 21,751
Excellent post. Can't believe Luiz has gone from hero-to-zero here Unbelievable.Maybe they should watch the reverse match against Utd the games against Spuds and City and (the time he was on) against Liverpool. Not once did they get through our defense with him on the pitch.

Henrique 9,133
Its not about Luiz going hero to zero, is about the bulshit of saying that now with Luiz, Alex is useless. Rambo
