we were very lucky in this final stage of the season

First the impulse of Nottingham Forest and we managed to stay in the top 4.

then, defeat to Flamengo and Benfica's unlikely victory over Bayern that took us to the easier side of the tournament

then, against psg, we were lucky that pacho was sent off against real, which made the other player play and have a bad game

very lucky indeed

Its football. Things happen. 

Can't put everything down to luck. We beat the "best" team in the world 3-0. Nothing lucky about it.

Not disputing that, and we had some bad luck as well. 

Bottom line is we won the World Club Cup playing the best football.

Not sure what the issue is with this tournament, we won like 100million and became the fifa club World Cup champions, let’s not forget they were some fucking great teams in this CWC, I keep hearing it’s a Micky mouse trophy because Liverpool etc wasn’t init? So touch fucking luck, we made the grade when we needed to, got in and won it, I bet my house onit if Liverpool won this cup it would be the second coming of Christ.

winning premeir and champions league is above this competition

I think it is beneath a PL or CL win in terms of difficulty for sure, and it doesn't have the history to really mean the same thing to anybody as a PL or CL win - no one grew up (yet) dreaming of winning this thing. In time that may change although I think they should tweak the format. Maybe every 4 years we should have no UCL but have a world wide tournament instead with a huge prize pool that is like the combined CL + CWC prize pool, and play it during the normal season in place of CL. That would be a huge deal that everyone would take seriously.

That said it is much more than some preseason tournament or some national cup like the FA Cup. It is far above a Europa League win. But beneath winning a PL or a CL for me.

I think if we win the PL and the CL this new season then this win will put everything well into context as Champions of the world. 

And I believe we can, these two trophies have done wonder for the team and coach. 

We are ready for the new season.
