Absolutely detest snow. Had to stay over at work last night because of how bad the snow was in the car park there! Its funny how five inches of snow can fuck the English infrastructure in an instant.

Wow I feel sorry for you!! The snow did the opposite for me and stopped me going to work :P

Here is how snow looks like:

Europe must be a dire place in the winter. Out of curiosity, what's it like to walk on snow? Is it like walking on sand (i.e. difficult, slow, and bloody annoying) or is snow firm?

I'd much prefer weather like this, tbh:

Shame its been a very cool summer. Bring back weeks of consecutive 35+ days!

Yeah, it's annoying to walk in snow (especially if it's deep, you'll sink in - you don't sink in sand). The worst is when it melts and freezes to ice, it will be a miracle to pass winter without falling to the ground at least once (I am currently well on track achieving that, but it's not over yet), every step is a struggle.

Try walking on hot sand.

Without or with flip-flops.

who walks on snow barefooted? well, actually some people do after hot sauna to cool off. but generally that's a bad comparison because nobody walks on snow without boots and no one makes people to walk barefooted on hot sand either (I've done it with heat over 30 degrees, and I prefer hot sand in my experience. although I imagine it's hotter in places with ~40). And people still walk and sunbathe in sandy beaches voluntarily (even more so with greater heat), I can't imagine anybody doing it with cold and snow - you could die of hypothermia or get pneumonia the least.
