Mate, there are plenty of examples of the brazilian not making it in the prem, e.g Kleberson and Robinho.

So am i right guessing you would rather us buy Neymar instead of Aguero? even though both these player most probably wont come.

If you are saying Aguero is not proven, than Neymar is most definitely not. I dunno he might become one of the best players in the world, but im not that impressed with them wanting us to spend 40m on him. He gets knocked of the ball far too easy, he also losses the ball far too much, he dives ( and i know you said that south americans dont mind, but jesus if hes that good he shouldnt have to cheat), and lastly he has one of the worst attitudes in football, like when he never passed the ball to his team mates for the whole match. Talk about being a child.

Robinho = overrated player. Never lived up to the expectations at Madrid. I'm glad he went to City, he was a Madrid's flop and we were going to pay a huge price for him. He wasn't a flop at PL, PL clubs were idiots to pay more for him than Madrid paid, he was already a flop when he went to England.

Kleberson = hahahahahahahaahah

Luiz and Alex are the best brazilian players to play in PL so far. The rest are awful. Brazilian brand, chinese quality. Jo, Afonso Alves...all of them are avarage.

Haha him being incosistent in the past is absolutely normal. He just turned 23, 2 June, not every player can be like R9 or Messi (as in, consistently world-class at a very young age). Cristiano didn't become world-class until he was 23 and look at him now. Or what about Dinho and Zidane? And no I'm not saying Aguero will reach that level with all certainty, though he has all the talent to do so.

And his goal-scoring record, see Terry07's post, is highly impressive for someone was 18-22 during that time, mostly playing as a second striker and not even playing for a world-class side.

He was absolutely class last season, and that in a poor Atletico side.

:goodpost: And if you count how many times he scored against Barca.

Think this thread is going a little off topic. The reason footballers cost so much and wages are so high is because , so many people pay to watch and participate in the sport. for example you wouldnt buy a season ticket to watch a fireman do his job (maybe a bad example but you know what im saying) if you did they would be a thousands of pounds.

As for Aguero , i dont think we will get him because i dont see any forwards leaving this summer , if anything we will bolster the midfield and Aguero will cost the earth anyway , didnt he once say he wanted £250,000 a week to play for us.... he will end up at Madrid or City will pay over the odds for him.

Messi is worth at least 150m.

How would you know?

The point he was trying to make was that noone should be (and isn't) worth more than 40mil, but due to the messed up transfer market and hyped prices, you can't be sure even if 40 mil is enough to secure a world class player's signature. Remember the times when 15m transfer was mind blowing?

Zinadine Zidane cost £47 million, and he's possibly the greatest player ever. Yet that would be considered a bargain nowadays.

3m less than Torres, Jesus...

The (British) Pound was worth more back then. When you put his price in Euros (75 mil), you get something impressive.

CHELSEA OUT TO BAG SERGIO AGUERO

CHELSEA last night launched a stunning £50miIlion bid to sign Atletico Madrid goal ace Sergio Aguero – after it was revealed the player was close to joining Juventus.

The Blues' dramatic move for Aguero, 23, comes as Atletico coach Gregorio Manzano warned mega-bucks Manchester City – who are also interested in the Argentina striker – to make an offer or face the prospect of having to meet his £45m release clause.

Chelsea's bid is intended to blow everyone out of the water. If accepted it would mean that chairman Roman Abramovich has spent £100m on strikers this year, following on from his £50m capture of Fernando Torres, 27, from Liverpool. And with David Luiz, 24, also having joined the ranks for £20m in January, the Russian billionaire has not been shy with his cash as he targets winning the Champions League.

Aguero, who has netted 74 goals in 175 appearances for Atletico, sparked a transfer frenzy earlier this month when he announced he wanted to leave the Vicente Calderon.

Juventus, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have also been linked with the hitman, who is Diego Maradona's son-in-law, although none have come close to Atletico's valuation.

Aguero looked set to snub a move to the Premier League in favour of Serie A and Juve – but the player is now reconsidering his options after the stunning offer from Stamford Bridge.

His arrival in west London would cast serious doubt over the future of Chelsea's other strikers.

Didier Drogba, 33, has been linked with Spanish club Malaga after a season plagued by injury.

If Drogba stays, Frenchman Nicolas Anelka, 31, could be heading for the exit door to make room for Aguero and Torres.

The plot thickens even further with the return of Daniel Sturridge, 21, from a loan spell at Bolton, where he scored eight goals in 11 games for the Trotters. It remains to be seen whether City will follow suit and launch a mega-bid to tempt Aguero to Eastlands.

Newly-appointed Manzano sparked Chelsea's move yesterday when he warned interested clubs that they should do a deal before July 4 or face the prospect of matching Aguero's release clause.

He said: "Until July 4, when our pre-season starts, we are able to negotiate for Aguero.

"After this date, clubs that want to take him away will have to pay his release clause.

"We have to impose ourselves on the market and so we need to know whether we can count on our strongest player."

Aguero's departure will leave Atletico with a real headache.

The future of his strike partner Diego Forlan, 32, is in doubt and highly-rated goalkeeper David de Gea, 20, is expected to join Manchester United as a replacement for Edwin van der Sar.

Meanwhile, Chelsea defender Jeffrey Bruma is set to join Hamburg on a two-year loan spell.

The deal will see the Blues retaining the option to recall the Dutchman, 19, next summer.

Bruma follows ex-team-mates Michael Mancienne, Gokhan Tore and Jacopo Sala to Hamburg, after the recent appointment of former Chelsea sporting director Frank Arnesen at the Bundesliga club.

Arnesen played a pivotal role in the raid that's now seen Hamburg capture a fourth Chelsea youngster.

's agent, Wessel Weezenberg, is hopeful the move will give his client the chance to secure more regular first-team football.
